    Always a great discussion!
D&C 49:19, 21 says abundance, but warns about being wasteful.
D&C 89 The Word of Wisdom says sparingly (in a restricted manner; in small quantities) and gives so many promises of health.
We are not bidden to abstain; imagine our pioneers on the trek.
On the other hand, something interestingly, the 7th Day Adventists do not eat meat and as a community live longer than others.

One of the highlights of my Sunday sabbath observance is to come home from sacrament meeting and tune it to Taylor and Tyler. I look forward to it so much. In addition to their insightful gospel teaching, I feel the goodness and spirit both of these men radiate. They are both a great example of spreading light and joy!

Thank you Taylor/Tyler for being you. We appreciate your insight and tenderness. We love it better when its just you two and not having a guest speaker. Your insights help us better than any of your guests. You both have a gift and that is why we tune in. Thanks again for what you stand for and what you see in the verses that we might miss otherwise.

The prophets and the Saviour have been open and truthful to us from the get go about everything. They have given us great counsel and information on how we can safeguard and prepare ourselves in preparation for his return. Not fearing the last days, and being peaceable in times of turmoil is a gift. I enjoyed this presentation, everything CFM has presented has helped me, I always come away with more love and understanding on how the Saviour operates. It is much easy to identify situations that are not of the spirit. CFM is a marvelous resource and reinforcement to maintaining my foundation in the Saviour ❤.

I really appreciate Taylor's clarifying the terms: Son of Man, son of man, and Son of God. Also, helping me really understand the word 'rearward' that appears in our scriptures - in other words, the Lord has our 'six'

Wonderful and interesting. I had a loving Bishop who suggested celibate for his daughter and me during a specific period. I also had a caring stake counselor who (already inactive at our church but active in the gospel) strongly encouraged me to continue studying in the medical field. Even though I can not wear masks to have direct pt contact, I help people w/ my limited knowledge while being happy to be a perpetual gospel & medical student and supporting the family as a single mother. Thank you!

I love the insight about the agency these shakers had and that the Lord still sends them even if they don't accept it. It reminded me of the parable of the sower. The seeds were scattered in every kind of soil there could be, allowing all places to grow or not. Of course, I am not as good at articulating my words as Tyler is, but I think you understand. Thank you for all the time you take in expounding the scriptures!

Our preparation for the second coming can be a lifelong work! We prepare both physically and mentally and spiritually to do the work for any given time in our lives; sometimes we must focus on spiritual prep, other times on taking care of our bodies. Education is an element of that prep, too. Be led by the spirit for when, what, and how.

T&T Brothers, a very timely and RELEVANT discussion this week on D&C 49-50. Do we see some strong and compelling comparisons to CURRENT conditions in 2021. Are we sometimes being deceived and follow misdirected forms of Social Media with self-serving ideas and misdirection? Unfortunately, Leman Copley and the Shakers found themselves in a similar situation of being deceived and wanting "to know the truth in part." Do we find ourselves at times "wanting to the truth in part" and not sure if we want to BE ALL IN and be truly converted? I really enjoyed the Pyramid and Inverted Pyramid analogy. Too many of us have as our Earthly King the Tugs of the World and its influences at the top of the Pyramid while striving 24/7 to serve those appetites. Our Heavenly King is at the bottom of the Pyramid as the servant always loving and serving each of us at the top (D&C 50:26). A tough task but we can strive to be as the Savior "The Servant of All" !!

While working on the timestamps for this week's lesson I was impressed with the teaching about D&C 49: 5-14 at the 19:54 mark. The cross reference in 3 Nephi 11:32-41 kept coming to mind. I have always turned to 3 Nephi for an understanding of the doctrine of Christ.. We understand from many scripture references that the doctrine of Christ is faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. However, in 3 Nephi 11, the doctrine of Christ is prefaced with the Father bearing record of the Son and the Son bearing record of the Father, and the Holy Ghost bearing record of the Father and the Son, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one. The segment above that is taught by Tyler on unity gives so much insight into 3 Nephi 11 that I felt a need to comment here. The conclusion of D&C 50 in verses 43-44 we see another connection with 3 Nephi 11: 32-41. Thanks for a great lesson!

I only had one baptism on my mission but did alot of less active work . I had a hard time at first. I learned for my own that I did what was asked of me . Quality vs. Quantity. Some missionaries I saw were obsessed by numbers of this and that . Yes ,we need goals and objectives to work towards but that doesn't mean we become obsessed the numbers and not the spirit of the work.

Thank you for your insight in church history. I didn’t recognized that at that time a different Christian section as the Shakers. Quakers, Protestant and Catholics are the only sect I knew. Reason for this for what I believe is the Adversary making divisions and confusion in men that believe in Christ gospel.

As a young convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and away from home in college about an hour away from my hometown I was attending church in a small branch back where I come from, Bulgaria. I vividly remember the location, it was a basement of a building clearly prepared for small shops people usually open under the apartments built above. It was a ground floor and underneath where the primary room was and the storage for baptismal font and such. Near by the building with our small church space on the same street there was another rented by a church place. I heard only funky things about that particular cult which seemed to also be very involved with the shaking and such activities. I heard people would be throwing themselves on the walls under the influence of the spirit. Previous to that knowledge I had Christian friends from a Pentecostal denomination who had experiences with speaking different tongues, just like that as sitting on the couch at home and standing up speaking a storm and if they got lucky to have a recording device near by they could tape it and bring it to a certain man who lived in the capital city of Sofia and he sort of interpret for them, kind of like a prophet to them. But individually not as a one congregation. With all that said, and all my respect to my friends, I did share with them a copy of the Book of Mormon and of course they were not ready to receive the whole truth and the mother of one of my friends ended up tearing the book into pieces with anger but as a young convert I think it was a valuable experience to be able to see others and their points of view and discern truth from false teachings.
Back to that street with the cult with people thrusting themselves onto walls with the power of the Spirit. A certain woman from that cult approached us. She attended our meetings. She was taught by the elders (the missionaries) and she kept coming but I could clearly see at some point the elders started avoiding her. I asked them why and they said I better stay away from her too. Call me naive or what I kept being her friend and as she was no longer invited to come to our small branch she would talk to me outside on the street. I don’t remember detail as it was some 20 years ago or so but I remember the feeling of being j easy and not comfortable in her presence. I could tel why and there wasn’t anything visible disturbing about her but there was something inside of me telling to keep safe distance. On one occasion we were cleaning the building to get it ready for the following day which was the sabbath. As I was alone downstairs mopping the primary I noticed a person at the small basement window waving at me energetically. It was that lady. She wanted to find ways in. The other members has stoped talking to her too and she had only me on the inside but that’s when I saw the desperation and felt the warning that was one troublesome person who would walk the extra mile to cause contentions and the missionaries, being so much more in tune with the Spirit of the Lord had felt it and had friends warned me. I waved back but ignored any further engagements. Sometimes the Lord has ways to softly push away those who don’t have good intentions in case to protect the little small amount of Saints with fragile growing testimony who are yet to prepare for their future temple covenant path. I’m grateful for expertises like that because they had helped me through the Homy ghost to discern truth from evil. Be sis evil could have many faces, often friendly faces and trustworthy faces even. We all should be grateful and rely on the internet connection with the wilds around us but even more on the connection with Heaven.
Thanks for the awesome inspired and full of knowledge and historical background video. Thank you for giving literary of your time to us all.

I can imagine it was more difficult than we realize to completely abandon one's current faith/religion and completely embrace the restored gospel, a new religion that has just recently surfaced. I was fortunate and immediately embraced the gospel and was excited to have my life change because of it but I also have witnessed others struggle with fully converting and are more like Leman Copley and others of that time. And how interesting to learn Shakers shunned marriage to an extent and believed in celibacy. Wouldn't their population eventually run out?

I have a question...somewhere I heard a scripture quoted that said something to the effect that “nothing on earth will happen that God will not tell his servants the prophets.” I’d appreciate any help I can get in finding it and then what do you think it has to do with the second coming?!!

Are either of you going to be teaching at Education Week this year, if we are going to be able to have it on BYU on campus.

How could shakers believe in a Second coming of christ if they do not believe in a Resurrection? Just reincarnation as a woman ? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I have to disagree with you on watching for the second coming. We are commanded to watch. Now we are not to make that our priority, but I wish you would stop discouraging those who watch for the signs. When Jesus Christ was to be born they were watching they talked about it, they were excited for it. This is no different, those who watch are excited for Christ to come. We don’t predict when, we watch and we go about our life just as they did when they were watching for Christ’s birth. I do love your channel and thank you for the time you take to help us learn. Thank you💕

I don’t feel they were discouraging people from looking for and anticipating the signs of the second coming, but rather to not get caught up in trying to predict the day. The Lord gives us signs to help us to prepare for which I’m grateful, but I agree that it is fruitless to focus on the day rather than preparation and doing the Lord’s work while it is called today.

I have to agree, protesting against those who are righteously watching the signs of the times feels contentious and patronising.
