Pulling the Front Axle of the John Deere 2510, Power Steering Leak

  • Well removing front axles on tractors is so much fun, let's remove the front axle on the John Deere 2510! Nothing wrong with the axle in this case, just need to remove to gain access to the steering motor to change the seal and hopefully fix the leak.

    Great video as always Randy. Its always nice to have a 4 foot long breaker bar handy when an impact wrench doesn't cut it. Lol! For the cost of that steering pump seal, I'm sure it only cost about 1/3 of that cost to actually manufacture that part and the rest goes to the royalties for using the John Deere name, packaging, shipping, stocking fees, etc., or at least that's what the JD dealer will claim in their defense. Lol!

      Oh I'm sure, that John Deere label on the packaging is the biggest cost, but at least I can get the part, and quickly!

    On the next episode of tractor rehab, RDALLEN decides he want the 2510 to be FWA, so hes swapping front axles with the Mahindra.

    having to use breaker bar shows you the value of manual labor. a robot wouldnt do that
