20:36 Techinally we had three heroes in this one. Kwai Jun-Fan is Iron Fist, which is why they plugged him at the end calling him an "Iron Fist." Sonny Burch is from Ant-Man and the Wasp, he's the guy with billions trying to buy Pym's tech. John Walker was in this too, he was his right-hand man at the start of the episode. Oh, and Morris was his horse's name =P
The Hood, aka Parker Robbins, is going to be the main villain of Ironheart. You can really tell between this episode and the last one that they expected Ironheart to be out by now, so that we could recognize their characters. Thankfully, Riri was already in a movie.
It's interesting that they used a villain from the comics that hasn't appeared in the MCU yet and one that even comics readers may not have heard of (The Hood). Those who do know the character know that 'The Hood' (the piece of clothing that she wears that gives her the ability to become invisible for as long as she holds her breath) is demonically posessed which is why she comes back to herself when 'The Hood' falls off and why Shang-chi is correct that "You didn't kill her, The Hood did."
The Hood will be in the Iron Heart series. It's possible that they expected that series to have aired prior to this season of What If? Given that it's been delayed and considering how long it takes to develop animation, that seems likely.
@@y4uriteme That would explain a lot about all the things they didn't bother to explain. The focused on it coming off, her sudden change and even the way it floated away and gave off a bit of the same vibe as Strange's cloak. With that background, that shot feels more like the hood being off to find someone else to posses.
This is honestly one of the best episodes of this entire series. The performances, the writing, the fight choreography, everything was truly top tier. And the choice to have Shang-Chi and Kate Bishop be the heroes was perfect, two of the best fighters in all of Marvel in close quarters (Shang-Chi) and long range (Kate), truly a terrifying duo for the old west.
Hey y'all, just a little side note, the little guy Jun Fan has the same given name as... wait for it... Bruce Lee!! Yep, Bruce's birth name was Lee Jun Fan. Coincidence? Maybe.. discuss among your selves 😎🤔 Lv ya mean it 🙃
Really fun episode I really enjoy the western style always a classic story and man he finally found his sister and that happens. I'm so excited for how this season wraps up
This is my favorite episode from this season, and I loved seeing you two react to it. Shang-Chi and Kate Bishop as a heroic Old West duo is something I did not expect to see and love. Also, I find it interesting that we got a variant of Parker Robins/Hood in this episode before the debut of his main MCU timeline counterpart in _Ironheart (2025 miniseries)_ .
My favorite episode of the season! I love kung fu and westerns, so mashing them up with two of my favorite MCU heroes going up against one of my favorite comic villains, plus tying into Iron Fist lore with Jun-Fan and bonus Walton Goggins just hit all the right buttons for me!

Bring back Walton as Sonny Birch was a great move.
