@@colaman8269 It definitely is imo because it's the HD experience of 1.6. Kinda like a remaster for early 2000s

@@NikkiMcMistie HD experience? The game is made in the same old horrible engine with the same exact pixels for every texture and same lightning. How is that a HD edition? Literally nothing changed other than some maps overall look (which imo doesn't look better than 1.6)
The game was made in 2004, yet it looks like something made in the 90s. Guess what other counter strike game was made that year? CS SOURCE. If you're looking for an actual remastered experience from 1.6, play CS SOURCE. It has improved lightning, higher res textures, new player models, better hit reg, better movement, etc. That's literally the perfect example of a HD edition of 1.6

@@colaman8269 it looks as modern as cs 1.6 can look without being another game entirely. thats what i mean. also it really doesnt look like something from the 90s i dont think you played a lot of games from that era lol

Even Nexon, who made Counter-Strike Online and Counter-Strike:Nexon Zombies uses a lot of resources such as the default characters(including Midwest Militia and Spetsnaz), maps like downed, corruption, sienna, tides, truth etc., sounds, graphix (.wad files) and various props suggesting that Condition Zero look better that Counter-Strike 1.6

Unpopular opinion: many of the player models from CZ look much better than that of 1.6. Ex: Artic Avengers have berets and goggles instead of being Phoenix Connection with different coat, Elite Crew doesn't look like Gordon Freeman with a green shirt, etc.

Actually idk about countries but CZ was very famous game here we had tons of dedicated server for it . Also the polished dust 2 and Night version of inferno was so good in this game..

Despite being a re-upload, what catches my eye is the Gearbox version of Condition Zero. It looks so unique and different with all the ideas and the stuff that was already done because as pointed out in the video the Ritual Entertainment version is the XBOX port and the Turtle Rock Studios one is the retail version.
Many changes happened during its development only for it to be overshadowed by Counter-Strike Source months later.

In my opinion condition zero is a good counter strike game the reason why it's so underated is because cs source released on the same year cz did it brought very great improvements my favorite was the new hostage A.I that is much better than any hostage A.I in any cs game they often can get stuck but they have some very great improvements like they can climb ladders and get in vents which is very useful especially in maps like cs_assault i also liked cz deleted scenes in my opinion it's a very good game it has some issues but it's still pretty good i hope valve makes a new single player counter strike game it's an idea they didn't properly explore back in condition zero development days and could do now some assets from cscz are reused again like hostages voice and cs cz player models could be used in it if you enable hd models

I enjoyed CZ! It was a fresh single-player experience of my beloved game for the time!
My only gripe is the kinda-sorta forced merging of textures/models if you had it installed alongside 1.6.

Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes is essentially the Half-Life (the single player experience) adaptation for Counter-Strike.

i love CS CZ and DS as much as i love CS 1.6.... for me its just an updated CS 1.6 with new maps, models, textures, graphics and game modes....the hostages here are responsive unlike in CS 1.6....

I like CS:CZ too for different reasons than 1.6 to be honest:
CZ is a fun, single player CS game that has lots of character whereas 1.6 is the more traditional and competitive formula for CS that we are used to.
Each one is good in their own way 👍🏻

SiN was probably the best Ritual Entertainment title, unfortunately it was very buggy since the release was rushed.

The worst thing about CZ's release date is that if you buy it on disc, all the files are dated to like November 2003.

The lesser know was CS 2.5 which it was an "improved" version of 1.6 but didn't improved much at all except menu screen and bots were more predictable

This was the game that inaugurated my Steam account back in 2004. As a matter of fact, I believe it was the first game to be added to Steam. I loved the single-player campaign and still play it from time to time. The multiplayer was just as fun back then, but I didn't play it very much as CS:S came out not too long after. But the main thing that makes me love CS:CZ so much is that it actually introduced me to the Half-Life series as it came packed with a silver CD containing a bunch of HL2 E3 gameplay footage.

Me and some of my friends enjoyed it, but we were a little upset by the lack of new weapons that were supposed to be in the game. I really wanted the molotov.
And then 7 months after CZ's release came CS:S lol

It surely wasn’t a groundbreaking release haha, but looking back on it today is definitely a nostalgic experience, especially deleted scenes.

Where I grew up we didn't have internet, as a kid I always used to go to play CS1.3 at lan gaming places, couldn't even update to 1.6. But at some point Condition Zero was released which was much better than 1.3, and I couldn't get my hands on CS Source, so I played a lot of CZ and was pretty happy with it.
I think it's unpopular because it's so similar to 1.6, but it's much better in comparison to old versions of CS

    • @Iau99h
      @Iau99h ปีที่แล้ว +1

It's also unpopular due to CS:Source coming out like 7 month later (23 march 2004 for CZ, 1 november 2004 for CS:Source)
Also, CZ didn't had new weapon, features or else than CS 1.6. Only CZ:Deleted Scenes had.

    • @marcelhanout8246

@@Iau99h yeah, though I didn't have Internet back then so I didn't even know CS source was being developed in the first place, I got it a few years later after it's release.
And true, there isn't much difference between CS 1.6 and CZ. But 1.3 didn't have the famas or galil and tactical shield, and it's ai was really really bad. It was a massive improvement over 1.3 for me.
Funny story is that I bought 1.6 hoping to get childhood nostalgia, when I first ran it, I got really confused because the user interface was so different to what I was used to with 1.3, I had to doublecheck and make sure I wasn't playing CZ lmao

So many development companies offered their services. I think it didn't work out because of that reason. But CZ deleted was still decent.

funny to me how a game studio now known for its looter shooter borderlands, used to be pretty involved with valve back in the day
