    Imperfect people and unequal emotions ... Love can be a balancing act. But with time, patience and dedication, it can be the greatest story ever told. Like dancing to Debussy! This was delightful. ❤

    I enjoyed this film, my boy friend was the same way, he never did any cheating except being with his friends who thought je was better than sliced bread, it took a lot of patience and time, plus a big cup of communication that got us through it, I had to understand his past as he understood mine, we are two works in progress, love makes a lot of allowances 😊

    I have really good friend who’s dating a guy he knew from college. As soon as he introduce him to me, I sensed a really negative vibe from him and I told my friend to be careful. That guy would do anything to get attention from men and talking about attention seeker whore. My friend could see that and he even saw messages on his phone flirting back and forth with other guys but still he couldn’t stop loving that jerk. I could say nothing and it killed me inside because I didnt want to see my friend getting hurt and most importantly, being treated like a muppet ☹️

      It happens. So many are not capable of a long-term honest loving relationship. It's just how so many gay men are. Nothing you do about it except be the person that you want to attract and the right person will come into your life.

I just thought it was harmless and oh boy was ii a fool. I just didnt realize that he was flirting for real. I eventually caught him in bed with a flirt and thank god i had the strength to take a walk away from him forever. I spent 3 years with a man who enjoyed being admired by others for his perfect looks, and he wouldn't bother telling me why occasionally he was an hour or two late from work. It was always my problem that I couldn't trust him, he said. I thought I trusted him because when other couples would come over for dinner or drinks and occasionally suggest a 4 way or a switch, he would act genuinely horrified and try to get them to go home. Eventually my jealousy got the best of me because he never really tried to put me at ease. And so I ended it. Nowadays I look for not so perfect looking partners.

  • @kjohns5139
    @kjohns5139 6 ปีที่แล้ว +132

    With one partner continuously placing themselves in a potential emotional or sexually compromising scenario does not make a healthy relationship. Jealousy can be unjustified and unreasonable, but it can also be equally justified as it is in this case. Nick is a one-step-from-cheating partner, and it does not take much for that one step to happen...to much alcohol, a couple's argument, a wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time situation. Nick needs to stay away from guys who want his body; because eventually one will get it. I am so sick of hearing, "...i'm not perfect." yes, I get that. But that is not an excuse to justify stupid or bad behavior. A man who needs that kind of validation, can't be faithful to one guy.

    Do we tell the truth when we are perched on a perilous ledge because the effort to stay balanced and fear of failing occupies our minds so much we can’t fabricate at the same time? The scene at the beach roughly halfway through Alex Lampsos’ short gay film is a kind of central pivot to the relationship between Nick and Charlie where truths that both men can agree on are aired in the open light of day. Charlie calls Nick “perfect”; Bryan calls Nick “princess”. Swirling somewhere around these divergent impressions of Nick, Charlie tries to navigate and negotiate their relationship. If “Thylacine” has a message, it would appear to be that couples should keep talking to each other and be prepared for a lot of accepting about each other.

    • @Eric-rr8ui
      @Eric-rr8ui 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point. The truth can be very scary. I think finding someone you can tell your truth to and not only have them accept your truth but more importantly, appreciate you for it, is the secret to having your perfect partner.

      No, cannot say that I have. But isn’t it a two-way street? If you love someone, shouldn’t you be committed to insuring your partner feel secure?

    So, basically Charlie, at the end, is apologizing to Nick for not recognizing Nick's need to fuck around on him. In a prior scene Nick has made it clear he was going to continue to cheat, so Charlie could be patient, really tolerant, or walk. But the other side of this is that if Nick caught Charlie with another man he would explode, his vanity and insecurities not able to handle it. I know because I lived this.

    • @buiewynn6975
      @buiewynn6975 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You obviously do not have a subtle mind, or otherwise you would have perceived the nuances of this beautifully made short. I know reality is a bitch. And even people who love each other, like Nick and Charlie, can be selfish and cruel, as Nick was by seeing Peter, a guy Nick knew was eager to hook-up with him. And I am not angry. I am simply not deluded.

    • @The9thImmortal
      @The9thImmortal 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. This film did not end well. Of all the flaws to accept about your bf, why should cheating be one of them? Charlie owed Nick nothing except to leave him alone. Nick serves only to siphon love and concern from Charlie as a priest near his altar when he already has many worshipers. I've been Charlie too many times...

    In my book, the searching for validation from "other guys" is just a lame excuse. It can EASILY get you in trouble, especially after a couple of drinks or a kinda-awful day.
    We all have our own insecurities, that's for sure. However, we will never be able to work it out with a couple, if we don't comunicate as a couple.

    How can you trust someone who goes out with someone else without telling you? All he had to do was tell him. Why is it such a secret? Secrets = zero trust. The untrustworthy should never ask someone to trust them.

      SOOOO TRUE!!!!! Also, all the gay TH-camrs are all hot white guys, and every thumbnail is purposefully as sexy as possible. Literally, the title of the video can be "When my parents abused me" and the thumbnail is a ripped white guy with his shirt off sitting in his bed. Like Gay content is pretty retrogressive.

      I get what you mean. It's like the baldbess thing - i went bald in my 20s, films and tv media by and large don't employ bald 20 somethings, so I don't see anyone I relate to (based on that one identity value).
      Art vs Money. You make more money with stereotypically pretty people. Plus, do the non standard types not become actors as much, disheartened by the lack of representation? It's like to be the change we wish to see, we need to act (metaphorically and literally), however change takes time... decades, so those non standard actors on the front lines might have no career, paving the way for younger non standard actors to take their places.
      Good gravy i am a cynical bugger lol
