Yeah - The thing about gas strike is that it's a pretty unimpressive stratagem in terms of effect and area, but the cooldown is so short that it's actually reliable. It does what it does well and often, and it can actually do some serious work if you manage to drop it on a chokepoint. It's a great orbital for dealing with trash, if you have a 500kg for dealing with heavies on your eagle and you don't want to put clusters on the same cooldown. The shell impact can destroy outposts too, but it's really finicky and inconsistent.
If you're away from your party, friendly fire isn't a risk with sentries. I'd use an autocannon sentry over the gas strike, and consider an EM orbital or Mortar over Jump Pack. Jump pack lets you reposition using your movement, EM by stopping opponent's
7:47 I've seen the small bugs, the shielded one(not charger) and the one that loses its head and charges straight at you, those call bug breaches when they spray shit up in the air.
They're either high level and max on samples as well, just doing the mission because they wanna have fun, and they have this moron just farming samples HE DOESN'T NEED EITHER. So yeah, most valuable my ass, he's helping no one, not even himself. The other option is, one or both of them are low level, don't know the game that well yet, and this moron is doing this without the consent of his team, leaving one, potentially two low level players to fend off for themselves in a high difficulty mission. (Edit: We can't know because of course he only leaves that clip in, I wonder what the chat looked like in the minutes leading up to that kick. Surely they didn't tell him to come back at any point right 🤡) Either way, he's absolutely NOT the most valuable player, he's a hindrance, he's literally halving the timer for enemy bug breaches because he's far away from his team. In any case, you shouldn't be fucking farming, just play the game, the only thing farming will accomplish for most people is reduce the time they'll remain interested in the game, because they won't have any more goals to look forward to. So this is doubly, hell, triply idiotic. Do this with friends, or with a consenting squad, preferably of high level players that will most likely be fine. Stop licking his balls please, what he did is trashy as fuck, and he's been doing it in many games as shown in this video.
I thought the gas stratagem was dumb because it didn't go boom. I have seen the error of my ways. One of them you got like 35 kills. Same with the EMP nades. That's clutch when you nade them to pause them, then gas them all while running towards the next sample cache.
Just got the game, played with my friend and its so fun and hectic. And we where just doing it on medium both of use under lvl 10. After 2 hours i got to lvl 4, and he was almost lvl 10. He took us to Hellmire and i was like why! Haha, those tornados are no joke. Cant wait to play more. Bonus information, i got enough credits to buy the outfit that gives me more grenades just by playing the game haha. Love this game.
I play ps4 and exclusively run helldive pubs. It seems to me that a majority of my squad mates are usually on pc. When I ask the answers reflect that. I SUCK. But I will hold down objectives and stick with the team as we chew through the map. I have noticed when one player goes off and does what your doing here it makes the whole thing much better and we come out rich. If someone doesn't the whole team just runs a slog fest of hell and depending on everyone's teamwork is the only way you can make it through with brute force. So I never talk crao and leave the solo diver to his work as we snag the objectives and he does the loot.
You don't need to drop and pick up your samples to see how many you have. You can bring up the map and they will show up. Or, you can go into your options and set them to be always visible.
i'll try this on 4 5 or 6 difficulty. already have more than enough super uranium (only need 65 in total). Common (need about 1380 ish) and rare (total 770 ish) ones holding me back from spending the super uranium.
if you enable compass to be visible then POI's will be visible on compass as ? marks when you're fair distance away from them, it makes easier to spot them when they're less visible ones or bugs/bots defending them are dead/went elsewhere
Just a random tip. You can ping stuff through those doors that need two people to look inside is you know the angles of where stuff spawns at. Edit : I do the same thing where I was not using the jet pack. So what I did was change my setup to the same eagle and orbital but I use a nade launcher to slaughter hordes and expendable anti tank for chargers. If I'm 7+ and a debuff then I run the other launcher ( I can't think of the name sorry ).
It's good against bug breaches to stem the flow of smaller bugs which can overwhelm you leaving you to concentrate on bigger foes. I also like to use it to destroy bug holes.
@@Jimov I have dropped the Gas on Bug breaches SO MANY TIMES and not gotten a SINGLE KILL! I sit their and WATCH for Mutikill SKULL to pop up to indicate it killed something and IT DOES JACKSHIT!
The 40 minute version is incredibly easy on higher difficulties IF you have teammates, if all 3 teammates are away from the objective, nothing will spawn on you at the objective because of how spawning works. Did it multiple times yesterday
11:35 Talking about efficiency: How about you drop that jump pack (which didn't benefit you whatsoever) and take the rover or cluster eagles to help you with swarms instead?
Anti material rifle is perfect for bots at lower levels, idk how it holds up against bugs but its a solid build. Autocannon does better, but its scope is worse so I'd go with the antimat rifle if I had to provide long range support. Bugs will rush you, so sniper support is less practical against them.
Not sure if someone answered this in the comments… but the big headed armored bugs do summon bug breeches for sure. And I believe the hunters can also do the same.
Great tips on samples. I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not though but there's been extensive testing done recently on the enemy spawn system and we now know for certain how it works. You should look into it as you still seem to not be aware of what/what doesn't actually effects enemy spawn rates and intensity.
@@OhDough Dude, atleast test it yourself before calling it nonsense. Vid hes mentioning tested and confirmed a reddit post with 20k+ upvotes. While its possible that it could all be wrong, I think its more likely than not that it's mostly accurate. When multiple people do the same thing and get the same results its usually quite telling. Apparently enemy reinforcements and patrols increase if players are split up. There's no set number of patrols that spawn that you are luring away, rather, you are creating a separate spawn location and effectively are doubling the ads. This is all according to the reddit post, but like I said, it could be wrong. Its worth checking out.
It’s not nonsense. It is however being misunderstood by op. Its patrols spawns, not breaches and not drops. AND it wasn’t tested on some mission types, of interest is the personnel evacuation missions. So that info may not even apply to this strat. That’s why reading is important and you shouldn’t just watch videos.
Me and my friends did this for the robots. I honestly wish they would do this for all of the missions and change how extractions work to encourage people to do this for every mission.
30 samples on the map +1 from a cargo crate that could've been super credits or whatever is on rotation. So the crate loot is generated after samples are put on the map
I fell victim to joing up with a random hacker to where we finished a match and had way more samples than it was possible to collect. I thought maybe it was a server issue until I saw in a video saying that it may be hackers doing it. At first I thought I would still need to grind for super samples since I haven't played above extreme difficulty and that was only once or twice. I figured I'd still need to grind since I only got 90 super samples. Then after I saw the video about a hacker doing this I looked at the level three ship upgrades and realized they only require 10 super samples each. Fortunately, I still have plenty of rare samples to grind for. I truly don't understand why anyone would hack a PvE game. The progression is a large part of the fun and none of the ship upgrades are so earth shattering that the game is unfun without them. I mean, maybe it was a glitch or server error, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. I used to be horrible about looking for samples, but now if I join up with randoms on easier difficulties, it's become my own personal mission to make sure the common samples get extracted. I don't need common samples anymore, but I'm damn sure going to make sure the other people get them.
too many players just don't get this game. It is frustrating, and sometimes I can only play solo, so I get a good game. But atm I lack the skill to play the levels your at... but watching you play, helps me learn the tactics I need to use to maybe finish one.
i am sure you might need a good team comp for this, a squad dividing 2 into 2, 2 main objective, 2 farming, so that the main objective can be done as fast as possible, so that eventually the full team can be getting the samples
2 things. 1 how come you can see at 19:23 that morlesareelastic is lvl 49 but yet him and everyone else got zero xp towards their level at 19:25? Obviously those that are lvl 50 cant but why didnt he get xp? 2 Ive been looking for this mission since i saw it on reddit and have yet to find this mission type on any planet.
One bit of misinformation that was repeated a lot in this video was regarding the idea of taking heat off of your teammates. Unless this particular mission type behaves differently from others, being more than 75 meters away from your teammates actually increases the number of bugs the map spawns. The game tracks players by groups and spawns bugs based on how many groups there are, but does not track which group it is spawning the bugs on. So if you have three people doing the objective and you are off on your own, bug behavior ranges from you getting double the normal amount of bugs called on you and your team getting nothing, all the way to you getting nothing and your team getting double the normal bugs, but there will always be double the bugs getting spawned on the map. Other than that though, great info! I will definitely be using this method, just be aware that you are increasing the number of bugs on the map by doing so. EDIT: Just watched your newest video, and I see that this mission IS different from the other missions. Glad I put that caveat in my initial comment lol. I will leave this here in case someone sees it and reads for confirmation so they will see that this is an exception. Link to video that explains this being an exception: th-cam.com/video/Pfjjxg4AF1U/w-d-xo.html
The 15 minute evac mission is becoming very rare nowadays. I have scoured several planets with difficulties up to suicide missions, there were no such maps.
sorry but how do you people get the sample indicators to pop up so good like in 10:57? i dont see it like that. i see them barely be indicated except im really really close to them....
If you can't move your hellpod when falling, it is because you pressed the movement button too quickly... Release the button and do it again you will move!
For every one group of players the game detects it spawn 1 patrol. Players are considered bring in the same group if you are within 70 meters if i remember correctly. If you have two groups like in this instance both patrols can spawn on the same group. So if you split up you might f*ck your teammate if they get unlucky.
Hey cool videos. I really like that you show whole mission that way I can learn how to escape hordes or like this video just run through the map collecting like 60 samples. So I want to ask you something with the game getting weekly updates all the guides become outdated really fast. And I've been struggling with Bile Titans recently. I just don't understand what I'm supposed to do to that thing - I use all my stratagems, pop its bottom sacks and it's still chasing me with like 40 hunters stunlocking me constantly. I've even stopped enjoying the game since I've leveld up to like 30-35 and play level 7-9 mission. I need some reliable (not 1-use like Patriot or Spear) method to kill Bile Titans like the Railgun for example. *So can you please make another (to-date) guide for Bile Titans especially uisng Railgun.*
I’m at that point where I need to start getting the purple samples and I can admit I’m not the best player but I’m decent. It’s hard when you get kicked for not using a specific “meta” load outs or the team makes irrational choices and magically it’s the 1 randoms fault. *sighs in solo player*

Interesting. Just to understand the loadout: Railgun, Syckle, jumppack, stun grenade, orbital gas, 500kg What was the armor? Scout or light? And which yellow hexagon thing? Maybe stamina improvement?
Whenever I join a random team it seems like no one is aware that samples and other pickups exist. Even the teammates that are level 40+ I just don't understand.
How do you get the samples to show up like that on the top right of the screen? Even with sample settings on visible or map only they refuse to show up for me.
Weird, from my experience these missions with small areas counter sample density by just spawning fewer samples. I've ran 7s and had it not spawn super samples and only spawn about 10 each of common and rares instead of the usual 20+
Why do rare samples feel more 'common' than common samples?
Common samples show up at outposts more often than points of interest in my experience, which are harder to loot due to the nature of what they are.
Agreed!

Great content, thanks for showing how it really looks and proper expectations!
I think I might be sleeping on the gas strike to hard, especially to pair with my buddy who loves to arc throw and cluster bomb hordes.
Why not use a simple grenade to open the doors? - But great video, man. Keep it up.
If you're away from your party, friendly fire isn't a risk with sentries. I'd use an autocannon sentry over the gas strike, and consider an EM orbital or Mortar over Jump Pack. Jump pack lets you reposition using your movement, EM by stopping opponent's

I've seen the small bugs, the shielded one(not charger) and the one that loses its head and charges straight at you, those call bug breaches when they spray shit up in the air.
I meant to say they aren't doing that in this mission and instead it's just random breaches
Kudos for doing it with raw footage. I learned new & more things&tacti from this video
Bloopers at the end were saucy!
You can blast cargo doors with various weapons or barrels. Lately im running arc lighting support weapon and it works
Grenades as well, when you don't have stun or such.
@OhDough 9:25 Working towards perfecting being your best self is best thing you can do. Just remember to not be harsh on yourself! Thanks for guide :)
Kicking the most valuable player, smart.
Surely they didn't tell him to come back at any point right 🤡)
Either way, he's absolutely NOT the most valuable player, he's a hindrance, he's literally halving the timer for enemy bug breaches because he's far away from his team.
Stop licking his balls please, what he did is trashy as fuck, and he's been doing it in many games as shown in this video.
you can shoot the crates with your railgun btw, works with a bunch of support weapons
Is there some way to highlight the samples, when at a point of interest? to make looting smoother
if you enable compass to be visible then POI's will be visible on compass as ? marks when you're fair distance away from them, it makes easier to spot them when they're less visible ones or bugs/bots defending them are dead/went elsewhere
What they should add is what they had in helldivers 1 the humble bee UAV drone. It showed samples when fully upgraded.
I got to ask, does the gas strike ACTUALLY KILL ANYTHING for you? Cus i swear every time iv used it, it kills NOTHING.
Yup, it habdles most of the small things and lingers long enough to be useful for me
Gas is really good. Fast and deadly
@@carlosflores4179 Not from my experience its not.
The bugs call breaches almost all bugs can call one more bugs in an area more breaches after one is done.
There is no videos on your channel. Where can I see the info about spawn rates?
it's a vid saying some nonsense apparently. they're saying the opposite of what I'm saying.
@@aynes8099cymonsays made the vid. Based on some work posted in Reddit.
It’s not nonsense. It is however being misunderstood by op. Its patrols spawns, not breaches and not drops. AND it wasn’t tested on some mission types, of interest is the personnel evacuation missions. So that info may not even apply to this strat. That’s why reading is important and you shouldn’t just watch videos.
if you have your compass up you can see the "?" on the compass as you run around. these indicate Small POI's.
Me and my friends did this for the robots. I honestly wish they would do this for all of the missions and change how extractions work to encourage people to do this for every mission.
Thanks for the guide, super helpful!
Question: at 11:33 your sample count shows at 31/30, how did that happen?
no idea tbh, it's happened a couple times before
I dropped with some randoms earlier and one of the super credit pickups was 100 and not 10. First time I’ve seen that, you run into it happening?
30 samples on the map +1 from a cargo crate that could've been super credits or whatever is on rotation. So the crate loot is generated after samples are put on the map
the anti material rifle is actually a really good against bugs except against the ones you want to use it against.
So much for kernal level anti cheat in a PvE game.
too many players just don't get this game. It is frustrating, and sometimes I can only play solo, so I get a good game. But atm I lack the skill to play the levels your at... but watching you play, helps me learn the tactics I need to use to maybe finish one.
Use the railgun to open the crate, faster and you don’t have to wait for the gas
i am sure you might need a good team comp for this, a squad dividing 2 into 2, 2 main objective, 2 farming, so that the main objective can be done as fast as possible, so that eventually the full team can be getting the samples
Is that THEE Donut Operator?
perhaps, I didn't ask tho
32/30 rare samples, this is insane.
Mission is only available on defense campaigns
Thats because there arent defense planets up as often as liberation planets.
You are still helping the mission as you are helping teams with those who cannot easily get samples.
sorry but how do you people get the sample indicators to pop up so good like in 10:57?
i dont see it like that. i see them barely be indicated except im really really close to them....
Could be settings
Here's a tip. If you have your compass up you can see the question marks for POI.
Holy shit I did not know gas strike was that effective for chaff enemies
13:05 🤣 name is “morales are elastic”.
@OhDough I know that the arc thrower can destroy the vault doors, but can the railgun destroy it fully charged so you don't have to use an orbital?
will check
Slugger and laser cannon take care of them.
nope
searched every single planet on 7-9 and could not find the evacuate personnel mission, beginning to believe they shadow nerfed this by removing it.
Having the same issue.
Wish I could actually extract with my samples without the game crashing. Game crashed 4 times today.
If you do this with randoms. I find completing the mission super fast, then getting samples works better.
If you can't move your hellpod when falling, it is because you pressed the movement button too quickly... Release the button and do it again you will move!
thank you dough looking forward to see you cover more games too
For every one group of players the game detects it spawn 1 patrol. Players are considered bring in the same group if you are within 70 meters if i remember correctly. If you have two groups like in this instance both patrols can spawn on the same group. So if you split up you might f*ck your teammate if they get unlucky.
You ran a mission with Donut Operator, dude has a good YT channel.
I just thought he was bsing when he said "i hope they dont kick me" because he was playing with another youtuber.
@ 17:48 you got 32 out of 30 rare samples? Seems sus...
I wonder is that was the real "Doughnut Operator". Great vid BTW!
I wish they would change the colors of those symbols instead of white for everything.
From what I know the minions, as I like to call them, can call in a group and I forgot the other.
You don't need air strikes for those containers. Regular grenades work fine.
I had stun grenades which don't break them
you can just explode the blue and orange POI doors with the explosive barrels that are near them
Donut Operator was in that mission? Nice.
I’m at that point where I need to start getting the purple samples and I can admit I’m not the best player but I’m decent. It’s hard when you get kicked for not using a specific “meta” load outs or the team makes irrational choices and magically it’s the 1 randoms fault. *sighs in solo player*
Love your vids man, have been watching for a while but must admit I only subscribed since the HD2 content.
Have you heard anything from the devs on the bug with playing crossplay with ps5 players? Seems pretty massive for them to not even have taken notice, especially with all the evidence now.
Thanks broski
I've heard nothing nothing on the ps5 bug so far whick kinda sucks since it still takes me 4x the effort to kill bile titans without a ps5 player im the lobby
21:42 Glad they didn't get any of those samples
Noticed some bugs having smoke coming out of their mouth pointing up and i let em which after more bugs started coming after me lol😂 which not sure if it brings a bug breach.
Interesting. Just to understand the loadout:
Railgun, Syckle, jumppack, stun grenade, orbital gas, 500kg
What was the armor? Scout or light?
And which yellow hexagon thing? Maybe stamina improvement?
Light medic armor and I usually run stamina booster (yellow hexagon)
Whenever I join a random team it seems like no one is aware that samples and other pickups exist. Even the teammates that are level 40+ I just don't understand.
No room for Slugger? It opens the orange and blue crates in one shot, and its a pretty good gun tbh.
@OhDough, what is your opinion on the weapons that do medium armor pen - such as Liberator Pen and Dominator?
How do you get the samples to show up like that on the top right of the screen? Even with sample settings on visible or map only they refuse to show up for me.
I hope that was the real Donut Operator
Dont sweat ur gameplay Im impressed already 😎
I knew your name looked familiar I used to watch your dauntless videos, cool to see you on helldivers too!
Weird, from my experience these missions with small areas counter sample density by just spawning fewer samples. I've ran 7s and had it not spawn super samples and only spawn about 10 each of common and rares instead of the usual 20+
