- If you fish the flats on a stand up paddle board you know the most fun but also at times frustrating part is the inability to stop when you hook a fish or wanting to work an area.
Through some trials and tribulation of buying and making different types of anchors, stake out poles and other mooring devices I find this is the most optimal answer.
It is very cheap and easy to make but also the most effective.
This was a DIY AND a tutorial--THANK YOU!
This is what I needed for my yoga! Thank You!!!
What an unusually good demo. Thank you so much.
Absolutely genius! Just what I needed for my teenager and I on our ISUP and for my hubby’s kayak. Perfect for when you just want to take a break in the shade for a few minutes and not drift back into the sunlight!
Thanks for this video! This is exactly what I was looking for.
Yes, you can always make it look prettier this is just a quick and and to the point video on why this set up is optimal.
Great idea!! Thanks for the video!!
Good job great idea
Great tutorial and great idea. Just kick it over. Works for many locations but not the tree and rock infested lake bottoms where I am. Stuck with a danforth or one of those grapplers (set up correctly). I will definitely rig it thinking of just kicking it over like you suggested . : - )
Great videos Sam! Thank you for sharing! I am a new subscriber :)
Great Job Sam! Thank You :)
Glad you find it helpful.
Brillant! Thank you!
sweet idea
nice board, thanks for the vid
Glad you like it!
Well done, thanks. Gonna try this out on my L2Fish.
works great.. L2fish rocks
Brilliant,
Brilliant thank you!
Works 👍
Ok I really like this, even though I already bought a foldable claw anchor and I dont fish xd
Nice. a 3lb folding anchor does not lock me in. May try the 5lb weight. I like that idea! Thanks!!!
That hexagon shape of weight is good for keeping it from rolling off as well. Thanks
Interesting. I made my own soft anchor years ago but think I like yours better. Only 5 pounds enough in tidal currents and wind? Great video. Thx
Instead of a weight, I use the solid plastic deadblow hammer. They’re typically bright orange.
Really like this DIY project. What size do you prefer for the shock cord and rope? Thanks
I fish the flats so nothing more than 15' max.
I go with 1/2" ropes.. too small it shard to grab with you hands when its' wet. I like yellow because it's high visibility the poly ....makes is floats so if it even comes off you can find it.
Clever! No reason it wouldn't work just as well for a yak, too!
+Jim M I have to agree . a lot less noise and less cumbersome
What about using a pole and stick it in the bottom like a Minnkota Talon?
It's the extra step I'm avoiding while fishing which can make a difference between spooking the fish or catching it. Depth is another concern if you are not fishing. Bottom material:: if its hard you will loose balance trying to push it in..
Nice !
