I think Kate really looked up to Christy as a big sister. Christy was beyond gorgeous, and had a kind heart that uplifted people, yet she wasn't super boring miss goodie two shoes, as she did attend social events and parties when she was young.
Agree she's a model in the truest sense of the word
she might not be a chameleon like linda, but the fact that she CAN literally do every designer label any magazine WITHOUT drastic physical changes is a testament to her adaptability and edge... that is why she is a model's model
That is called a classic beauty. The highest of beauties. Timeless and always perfect.
I've always felt like that makes Christy *more* of a chameleon than Linda. Some of Linda's looks from the 90's (the vivid red coiffure) felt very boxed-in, lending themselves only to specific runway & editorial looks.
@@mercygrrl Christy still looks great till this day, I love Linda but it's sad how she's ruined her face with botox and fillers. I do however think that she's enjoying life out of the modelindustry, and you can't really blame her, it's tough.
we throw the word "goddess" around a lot these days, but Christy actually deserves that title. unearthly bearing. absolutely unique and mesmerizing.
I met her in the 90s along with the other two (on several occasions) and she faded next to Linda , both in Beauty and in Grace , but she was nevertheless beautiful. Linda however was otherworldly in the purest sense of the term > She almost didn't look human or even from this earth . The perfection of Linda's beauty was beyond her flawless face and body, it was the aura and charisma she had (and probably still has) . You immediately noticed her the second she entered your visual field , but strangely enough you could actually feel her when she was nearby . I remember that the male model Greg Hansen (who for me was the most beautiful man in that industry) used to call Linda, the Sun because of how she illuminated and brought life anywhere she was , but also because of the massive magnetic field around her that seemed to attract everything and made people want to rotate or revolve around her .
I am not Joking here, Linda was truly out of this world .
You really talk like if you met her , and maybe you will . You really said it better than i tried to . Her smile was so honest just like the rest of her personality .
In pictures, I love seeing Linda as she was one of the most photogenic models in front of the camera lens. She simply knew how to strike a pose (even Cindy stated that Linda studied herself so well, that a photographer couldn't get a bad shot from her most of the times. Peter Lindbergh agrees she is the best model in the world). What Linda possesses is an aura of fierceness, sophistication and glamour. She exemplifies the diva factor that every gay and trans man love. She possesses this regal essence of a true queen. Put her in Dior, Valentino, Guo Pei, Elise Saab, or any designer with sophisticated dresses, Linda will simply look like the queen. This is something like stars like Sophia Loren can only pull off. But then Linda can also do minimalistic androgynous looks. Put her in a Calvin Klein, Armani, Saint Laurent or Hugo Boss suit, and she will look like a handsome boy. That's the very magnetic quality of Linda's beauty. Her versatility and yet preserved sophistication. She never looked commercial whatever look one gave her.
Then you got Christy Turlington. A pristine beauty. Classic, divine, elegant, graceful like Audrey Hepburn. Christy epitomized the highest and most perfect beauty. She was the Aphrodite. Very beautiful even with little to no makeup. She needed no enhancement even with her wrinkles today. One can analyze her features and see how unreal she is. Her face hits the golden ratio that most people desire. Plump lips that don't thin out as she smiles (most people's upper lip becomes thinner when they smile, Christy's stays in a rare straight and plump shape). Beautifully carved teeth that all fall perfectly into place even when she smiles (truly every dentists' dream model). Large warm smile that looks genuine and harmless, with cheeks that are not sunken nor look like tennis balls when she smiles. Large earthy green eyes that evoke warmth and kindness instead of haughtiness and fierceness like Linda's feline eyes. Her eyes are also not too far apart like Stephanie Seymour's eyes. She also has prominent double eyelids that are not thin and folded like Claudia Schiffer's. Also the lenses of her eyes do not reveal the bottom corner, which when they normally do, they give an impression of a derpy look like Mariacarla Boscono. She also got a perfectly carved petite V-shape face that doesn't have excess maxilar deformity when smiling (most people's face look square or round when they smile creating an illusion of excess mass in the face that makes it look heavy and manly). Her thin jawline is very feminine as it creates an impression of her having a petite face that looks light and delicate like a ballerina. Her edges are carved perfectly without being too structured to look masculine nor too smooth and covered excessive baby fat to look too youthful or bloated. She has simply the right amount of facial contour. Kate Moss has those high cheekbones and sunken cheeks that a lot of people desire to achieve that heroin chic look, but Christy's facial structure is softer, more gentle and less pronounced, evoking a more graceful and divine beauty. She has a straight hairline with not widow's peak that starts at a perfect distance from her forehead, creating the perfect size forehead. Her forehead is not too large like a Sarah Paulson forehead nor too small like a Teresa Guidice forehead. Her forehead is also not too straight like Emma Watson's nor too round like Tyra Banks's or Rihanna's. Then she got that sharp and straight nose with a high bridge (probably one of the few imperfect parts of her face is the bump on her nose as it can sometimes look strong with her nostrils). Also her long and thin neck that gives her a statuesque goddess physique and her arched eyebrows that are neither super thick and intense like Cara Delavigne's, nor too dramatic and exaggerated like Linda's (although Christy did seem to have uneven muscular control in her brow region as one would always look more accented than the other. Perhaps this is why she most likely had the natural talent to relax her face while raising an eyebrow). Christy may not necessarily been 100% perfect, but she was probably one of the few humans to achieve the closest thing to a perfect beauty.

She had this likeness persona of Audrey Hepburn - a sweet next-door girl type but then when you put her in front of camera, bam! She became one of the most unforgettable faves you’ve ever seen.

I saw her and 2 young beautiful girls (children?) on Bart coming home from work about 5 years ago... I saw her across the train and was like woah that woman is beautiful, and she’s really tall, and the girls look like they could be models too! Wow! Then they got off at SFO and there’s no way you could miss her a mile away! The whole station had heads turning! But I didn’t know it was Christy Turlington until earlier this year when I saw her Instagram saying she lives in the Bay Area! I was like omg that was her!

I agree - she was just as equal as the others and also appeared on Vogues 100th cover issue within the top ten supermodels of the 90s, I really enjoy these model profiles, however id really like to see like a 30min/1hour episode covering all the early 90s supermodels, if only I worked at Style.com I'd make it happen : )
+ILIUSCOV Don't forget Cindy Crawford (the most obvious), Tatjana Patitz, Karen Mulder, Stephanie Seymour (though I don't like her), Nadja Auermann, Eva Herzigova, Veronica Webb, Carla Bruni (we all know where she recently been), and Kristen McMenamy. The heck, you can even make one for Tyra Banks who, although short, had a portfolio for high fashion.
I wish for a runway reunion with Yasmeen as well but some of these 90s runway legends may not look so legendarily thin as they did back then. Time catches us ALL honey and it ain't so pretty. That's the theroy I have why we haven't seen a comeback from Yasmeen..... or Linda Evangelista or Karen Mulder for that matter. So I'ma just be happy with rewinding my old 90s runway clips in nostalgia. Thank God for TH-cam honey!!!

He’s good commentary, accurate points. I’ll tell you who Christy & some of these girls were to me as a 15-16yr old boy growing up. You’d attack the remote control just to try to hit the pause button, because you remembered the mesmerizing flash of this woman with stunningly gorgeous eyes like you’ve never seen before the last time the commercial popped up only to find no name revealed. She was just this Maybelline girl, & wth was a Maybelline? She sure looked lean enough to me. No maybe’s about it. She was absolutely perfect, but you didn’t know her name & didn’t have the fingertip access to find out who she was like we do today. This may come as a shock, but I didn’t know who Naomi & Linda were until this past month. Very beautiful ladies. I was familiar with Naomi’s name & people commented in high school how beautiful she was, but if you don’t put the name with the face it’s gonna slip right by. I never saw it anywhere that I can recall, & I thought she was some white actress. It may not be as bothersome to you, but that’s only because you don’t understand just how attractive she is to me. Naomi looks exactly the same as she did when she was in her 20s. What a gem! Beautiful & sexy, grrr.
Linda’s hot stuff, but I never heard of her. I can tell you from my opinion on photos to the runways she’s more beautiful than her still pics reveal to me. Some of them are great. Some of them I look at the activity with no reason behind it. The photographer is getting away with having an exceptionally beautiful person make expressions that appear out of place in my opinion, the person didn’t make it real. I suppose this feeling is possibly too complicated for this type description to convey.? The photo is good, because she’s beautiful, but it’s not what brings her to life for me though. I don’t look at the photographers work & see her emotions speaking to me, catching my eye with allure, or calling to my attention. It’s just my opinion, but I should be able to look at one picture, insanely see the private delusion of our communication like some kind of crazy intuitive osmosis that wraps me up into this impression of who she is until I reach the next picture adventure of our secret cognitive conversation, that’s if a picture is worth a thousand words & I’m allowed to read.? If we’re still allowed to live the dream? Yet she’s quite captivating everywhere else. A flashed glimpse in the George Michael video. The right haircut, outfit or walk, on & off the runway where her love exudes the embodiment of her more hypnotizing than pheromones in the air. 🦌
I think models today have a lot to learn still from the models of the 90s. The first time I saw Christy I literally turned into a spaz 🥴. You could’ve hit me in the head with a 2x4 I was so deaf, dumb & stupid. She’s very feminine, very delicate, very soft, yet very able 💪🏻. Don’t think that I won’t try Christy, but I can’t promise my conception of building a Time Machine will prove successful💺⏱️

I TOTALLY DISAGREE…I feel that Christy IS a chameleon. She can look Caucasian, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Middle-Eastern, Greek, Italian, Native American, Brazilian, and Indian! Her natural features without any hair dyes is what actually makes her MORE of a true chameleon. Lizard chameleons bring their beauty to the surface from within, naturally. So this makes Christy a true chameleon in that very nature…ALL FROM WITHIN. Christy is beyond-belief gorgeous! Christy is stunningly beautiful!

She is like Audrey Hepburn and Like Grace Kelly she is Beauty in itself and she is kind and thoughtful not at all overbearing or to much of herself....she is very sweet and innocent yet she is Fiery and Hot and Decent...She is intelligent, hard-working, very consistent and has integrity and very humble and charming and subtle....she is a Woman's woman very knowledgeable in women's issues and she makes us all feel pretty and important and she is approachable and well liked because she is really down to Earth her beauty and her charm....I have always loved my idol Christy Turlington since she first came on the fashion scene she is really one in a Billion fashion models, there is no one like her not in the least bit and she is very humble and not at all full of herself....Wish we were back in the 1990;s where she reigned most with the fashion's trinity and she was the one who stood among the three best, not Linda or Naomi....they were beautiful too in their own right but it was Christy Turlington who stood out of the three and is the most beautiful woman of the Trio....I miss those days with her but even as she is now today 2019 still the most beautiful woman not just Revlon's most beautiful woman of the world but in the Fashion Industry there is no one comparable to Christy Turlington Burns and her beauty and her charm....a delight for all to see and to admire both for the men and for women.......love and adore her always, like no other there is no other fashon model who can ever take her place!!!
