Oma and Shu learned earthbending from the Badger Moles. The Badger Moles were the original earthbenders.. Much like the Moon was the original waterbender, and the Sky Bison were the original airbenders. :)
dinozero2 Without spoiling anything, i think that part of the Legend of Korra was more about how the first avatar came to be and how he managed to gather the four elements. There could have still been people who learned bending outside of the traveling groups, but I get what you mean.
Brandon Lyon My theory is that it is likely that the lion turtles got their bending from other significantly more powerful and important spirits like the Moon & Water spirits. Because by now we all know that spirits aren't all equal in power and that some spirits have a more fundamental role in the universe like the light and dark spirit Raava & Vaatu. And I believe that the Moon/Water spirits and the other elemental spirits are most likely the primordial and more powerful spirits along side the Light and Dark spirits and that these spirits later on distributed some of their powers to creatures like dragons, lion turtles and badger moles
"So are you guys gonna come to Omashu with us?" "Nope." Rewatching this reaction series and I wonder if the nomads knew that Omashu was conquered and just forgot to mention it to them.
I love this episode. I also love the fact that every little side story can be made as a movie or even series on its own. Like the origins of Oma and Shu, Koh, the Facestealer, Jeong Jeong's backstory, the actual 100-year war prior to Katara and Sokka finding Aang, etc. FUCK!!! The world building in A:TLA has got to be one of the best ever aired on TV. And not just for animation, but just in general.
I have this idea that Sozin personally went to the southern air temple looking for the avatar. Sozin, with his army standing behind him, confronts Aang's master in the courtyard, "Where is he Gyatso?" "You will never find him. He *will* avenge Roku." Gyatso replies... Suddenly he levitates inside a ball of wind, sucking the air out of the soldiers' lungs... only to be shot down by Sozin's lightning (Think Crossroads of Destiny). It is there that Gyatso dies with the bodies of the Fire Nation soldiers strewn about.
Wilner's wonderful world Well yeah it does kinda fuck with the stories of them learning it but you could also chamge it to be they learned how to control it or got the spirit of it through them i guess... idk.
Agree, the only filler episodes were the Great divide, and to some extent the Fortune teller, this is a cool slower episode with a matching theme, it's not only about the destination, the journey matters too

@@GalvEnzo It’s basically like this The Lion Turtles gave the ability to use the elements Dragons, Bisons, Moles, what ever the Water Benders have. They taught people how to bend the elements.

I guess you missed the part where Oma and Shu learned earthbending from the badgermoles. That's also how they were able to close up those tunnels, Rana; they can earthbend the same way flying bison can airbend.
I love how the series gets more mature in Book 2. All main characters are starting to grow up and the war is going strong but it's also spring and there's love in the ''air''.
Nahid's right actually Rana, Azula couldn't put wanted posters up in areas of the Earth Kingdom which the Fire Nation hasn't occupied yet and the large majority of it is still independent.
“Badger moles taught the couple how to *EARTHBEND*” Badger moles are the og earthbenders Rana: “wait how did they close that behind them?” Idk... maybe because the earthbend?
They deliberately left it ambiguous whether or not they kissed (despite what idiots to stupid to grasp the concept of ambiguity will tell you). The creators have never given any definitive statement on the matter, apart from in the Avatar Extras for this episode, where the only thing they say about that scene is "What happens in the Cave Of Two Lovers stays in the Cave Of Two Lovers".
It's obvious they most likely kissed. The room lights up just as they lean in towards each other, implying that their love might have been the source of the light. Besides, she literally brings up the kissing idea in the beginning and blushes.
Of course they kissed. If you rewatch attentively, you'll notice: 1- They closed their eyes just before it went completely dark, so they wouldn't immediately notice the light coming back. 2- There was a good moment between it going completely dark and the crystal beginning to glow; considering they had already closed their eyes before, they were probably a couple seconds into their kiss before the first crystals started glowing; but again, they had their eyes closed so it wouldn't interrupt them anyway. 3- As Katara got chatty in awe of the crystals, they were still vwry close and holding hands, their fingers intertwined, in a way that would be awkward unless their had just shared some degree of intimacy. 4- When Aang tried to say something (probably confess his love, as he's been trying since 'The Fortuneteller') and Katara just ran away, Aang smiled rather than being disappointed, which means he at least got the kiss. 5- After leaving the cave Aang is all smug about 'trusting in love', subtly showing his desire to boast about his long-desired kiss. 6- When the hippies sing the last song, Katara blushes as they talk about love in the dark, as she recalls what just happened. 7- From here onwards, every single romantic moment between them has the musical leitmotif play again, meaning this is where their romance first blossomed. So obviously they kissed. To finish all of this off, the creators have confirmed this moment was their first kiss.

In the comic Toph's Metalbending Academy, these guys form a band that becomes hugely popular. However by the end they go back to where they are here because they missed their old life
Oma and Shu learned earthbending from the original benders : the BADGERMOLES. The animals you saw in this episode were earthbenders. They're like sky bisons, the original earthbenders.
Everytime I see these I squeal like a child and then get super pissed that I'll be torturing myself with Avatar content for another week until I see your next ATLA vids; love y'all!
Just for everyone to know, the lion turtles gave them the elements to bend, they didn’t teach them how to bend there for they would have to find the master, for fire it’s the dragons, water is the moon, air is sky bison, and earth is bager moles, however without the lion turtle they wouldn’t be able to bend at all, so technically they are the masters of the elements, the dragon can’t give you the ability to bend fire, but they can teach you as well as all the other masters
Remembering very clearly my own reaction back when I was watching the original release, I can totally relate to being simultaneously entertained and thoroughly angry I couldn't watch the next episode right away.

You guys have the remember that the moon IS a sea creature. In the season 1 finale, Admiral Zhao makes it his mission to destroy the moon. He does it by killing the white Koi fish which represented the moon, black representing the ocean.
At the Siege of the North part 2 it was the Spirit of the Ocean the one who used the Avatar to take it's spiritual form in the physical world, it was mad at the murder of the Spirit of the Moon and seeked revenge and so did the Avatar (the bridge between the spiritual and physical world), the moment it saw that the Moon was back the Spirit of the Ocean calmed down and seperated from Aang making it go back to it's spiritual form but still wanted to take Zhao with himself to the Other World as punishment. And Yue is now the true form of the Spirit of the Moon. hope i was helpful :)
the earth benders learned earth bending from the Badger Moles, Air benders from Flying Byson like Oppa, water benders from the moon (like the tide), and fire benders from Dragons
They are indeed similar to festival people, I had to think of that too :P Ah poor Aang xD Yeah, you should stop talking now xD Aww poor Appa, he is so uncomfortable underground xD Hippies are cool :P Fun fact, oma means grandma in my native language, Dutch. So I laughed when I heard that xD Oma and Shu learned earthbending from the badger moles. In the story it was told :) Just like Aang said that the airnomads learned it from the sky bison^^
Good video again :-) i see the reviews for the first time. It is a different thing to have the power of earth and different thing to lern to bend it (control it) in the avatar universe.
King Bumi and Avatar Kyoshi are two examples of people in this universe being able to live really long lives. I'm counting Aang only because he was asleep inside of the iceberg
At 16:08 was that a reference to Randy Quench: Volunteer Fireman, who is played by Jack DeSena who also voices Sokka? :) If so, hats off to you for that underrated reference. Jack was always one of the best parts of the new cast of All That.
I like how there was the whole backstory with the two lovers learning earthbending from the badger moles, but Rana still says, " How'd they close it behind them?" when the badger moles bend the caverns closed.
Normies the badger moles are the first earthbenders. Just like how Dragons were the first firebenders , Sky Bison were the first Airbenders and The Moon was the first water bender.

You are born with the powers but Oma and Shu were the first to learn to control them. So thet kidna invented earthbending
This episode changes when you remember that Sokka is still mourning the loss of Yue
Badger Moles were the first Earthbenders. That's how they were able to seal the doors behind them.
Why did I watch this now that damn song will be stuck in my head for a month.
One good thing about focusing on the journey over the destination is you get very good at moving forward
They learned it from the Badger Moles
LMFAOO the badger mole song kills me everytime!!
Lyrics: The big bad badger moles
are carving the tunnels
hate the wolf bats
but love the sounddddd
awesome... can't wait for the next one... only thing I'm looking forward to every week
Them nomads were definitely stoned
Two episodes in one day. Probably a one time thing but I'm Lovin it Normies.😆😆
Nope, 2 every week! Thank god 😅
the earth benders learned earth bending from the Badger Moles, Air benders from Flying Byson like Oppa, water benders from the moon (like the tide), and fire benders from Dragons
This was a really funny episode
"Bumi didn't go down without a fight" um well.
"Love is brightest, in the dark" *thinks about Meruem and Komugi*
GASP WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
The song for the love story was the same song they played at the end.
As someone who has gone to "festies" I've definitely met some people like the nomad guys
Yes, book 2 reactions, might become a patreon just so i can see them early.
13:21 i love this little moment
They are indeed similar to festival people, I had to think of that too :P Ah poor Aang xD Yeah, you should stop talking now xD Aww poor Appa, he is so uncomfortable underground xD Hippies are cool :P Fun fact, oma means grandma in my native language, Dutch. So I laughed when I heard that xD Oma and Shu learned earthbending from the badger moles. In the story it was told :) Just like Aang said that the airnomads learned it from the sky bison^^
Suraj is just the cuteeeeeeeest
Good video again :-) i see the reviews for the first time. It is a different thing to have the power of earth and different thing to lern to bend it (control it) in the avatar universe.
Zuko looking at the burnt leg "Are we the baddies?"
King Bumi and Avatar Kyoshi are two examples of people in this universe being able to live really long lives. I'm counting Aang only because he was asleep inside of the iceberg
“There a little stupid asf”
“Yeah, but they’re fun at festivals!”
“No they’re not” 😂
At 16:08 was that a reference to Randy Quench: Volunteer Fireman, who is played by Jack DeSena who also voices Sokka? :) If so, hats off to you for that underrated reference. Jack was always one of the best parts of the new cast of All That.
I like how there was the whole backstory with the two lovers learning earthbending from the badger moles, but Rana still says, " How'd they close it behind them?" when the badger moles bend the caverns closed.
13:45 Micky was ready to Omashu, but everything change when the fire nation attacked 😂
2:20 I'll love going with them singing along "vamo llegando chubai chubai, a pata pelada chubai chubai"
The Hippies are the fucking best "dude nice underwear" 😂
Normies the badger moles are the first earthbenders. Just like how Dragons were the first firebenders , Sky Bison were the first Airbenders and The Moon was the first water bender.
