The only thing is we can't trust humanity these days so " homeless people " don't get recognized because we can never trust if they are actually homeless or just posing as homeless for money. It's just terrible
So... Even if they aren't homeless... That means you have the right to not even look at them... To completely ignore a human asking for help... Just cause there are a few bad apples doesn't mean they are all that way.
IDK maybe it's just me cauz I've been in that situation... But I give what they are asking for... Maybe they are saving up for a hotel room, maybe they need to get their car fixed so they can go home and not be stranded. And you know what maybe they are buying alcohol or drugs....if that way it takes for them to be able to sleep on a concrete slab or under a tree thats none of my business. I did my part by helping them what they do with it isn't on my conscience. That's something they will confront when the time comes.

If you can't get a ss card you can't get an I'd and you surely cant get a job or cash a check.... Don't assume how to fix people's life ... Do you really think they are not drug addicts who have betrayed every person they know? Please! They are pieces of garbage and they prey upon people like you to feed their drug addictions
@Limelight_ Mendes Your mother is smart! Many of the world's homeless have severe mental issues (some you literally should NOT make eye contact with or they'll chase you down the street and maybe will attempt to bite your face because they're on street drugs like salts or crack or on a combination like heroin with meth with hepatitis pharmacy drugs, etc.). MANY of the homeless have HIV, hepatitis C, Scabies, Lice, bleeding from an open wound somewhere (like a cut on their hands), etc. Some decent people and even the police have been spit on by the homeless. MANY times homeless aren't truly homeless! You could get attacked and robed by posers/fakes (watch the family friendly video here on youtube called 'Poser' by Albarosie, he's an Italian reggae artist who sings positive and in his spare time he does help the needy). Your loving mother is not trained to deal with those levels of problems and leave adults to deal with societies issues on those levels. Ask her why? And if you want to help, you both can volunteer TOGETHER at a church Christmas for the homeless event or Community Thanksgiving event because you 2 will be helping more than just one person and you'll be doing that in safe environments. Your mother is simply protecting you. Talk with her and ask if you both can volunteer even if one event a year to feed homeless in your local area or if not due to time there are MANY community churches, etc. that open what's called Food Pantrys in which you 2 can drop off bags of food (call before you do that so you'll know their guidelines) and those places use that food to make their weekly or monthly meals for the homeless and they open their doors to feed the homeless and to give to people and families who are with far less means. Also your local main post office may have a time where they collect food cans to give in the same way.. the Food Drive. Lastly you 2 can call around & search web for local Community Homeless drives, fundraisers for non profits, etc. Watch that 'Poser' music video with your mother if you'd like and TOGETHER look for safer better ways to help. Peace.

I don’t think they were emotional about that so much as I think the realisation hit them that people become invisible when they’re homeless. When you live in a city like prtland oregon where people who claim to be homeless are not, or you are followed and badgered by them constantly, that is why they get ignored. As a society we have done away with mental instutions and allowed the behavior for far too long.
I remember this one day back when I was a junior, I was in this field trip that took us to this museum in Chicago, I saw a homeless amputee, it got me angry for how people were just passing by and coming out of this McDonald’s like if he was nothing, the entire class ended up going to this McDonald’s either way, we ordered and everything, I was still having a curiosity to that amputee, so I knew I had to do something, I made an excuse to my world history teacher by saying that I had a personal call and if I could take it outside, I was given permission so I went ahead and started talking to the homeless guy and told him if everything was ok, I was just pissed of how little he had on food so I told him to come in and order anything he felt to order, right after the teachers saw me with him, they were shocked from how I preferred to lie just to buy this homeless man eat with a complete stranger, how I was smiling at the moment we started chatting and joking around while we were eating, I was just pleased to change someone’s life, at the end I ended up giving him 20 dollars just for him to buy hygiene products and anything he needed
I can't help but laugh at everything in this video...why u might ask yourself? How do you expect someone to notice you if they're on their phone if u really wanna gets someone attention say something😅

That's something they will confront when the time comes.
some of the beggars are proffesionals, when i first arrived in france i used to give money to the 50 something ish guy there everyday.. after three years of him in the same spot everyday( big belly) he is not poor.. if he put as much effort into finding a job as begging everday he would be fine.. the road he works on is full of tourists in cars so they see him for first time.. i understand somebody going through bad periods and begging for money.. but this guy 7.30 am he arrives every day to keep his patch.
Some people can't legally get jobs... And getting a job isn't always the only answer to fit and fix everyones life...you know you only get 10 ss cards in your lifetime? If you can't get a ss card you can't get an I'd and you surely cant get a job or cash a check.... Don't assume how to fix people's life ... All we as people, or neighbors are supposed to do is love people. Not judge criticize, condemn, or assume about.

Peace.

they all got emotional when they realised it was a family member but it shouldn't have to be the reason you literally help people should just do it out if compassion and pure love IDGI
I agree even those who are not blood related are just as precious and should be helped with genuine love and care
I don’t think they were emotional about that so much as I think the realisation hit them that people become invisible when they’re homeless. It shouldn’t have take a family member being in that situation for them to have compassion, true, but hopefully this changed how they behave towards homeless people in general now because, as one lady said, it could be any of us in that situation.

Hi 😍😘😍
