    Thanks man! Great knife. I'm an avid fan of all sharp and pointies. Unfortunately, I have had a set back in my attempts to make knives. Open heart surgery will do that. My Dr. says "No making anything" for at least 6 months. I'm very bummed out about that. But thanks to you and several other "Professors" here on TH-cam University, I can still get my making fix taken care of. Thanks man!!

      Sorry to hear. I was a Cardiac ICU RN. You have to give yourself 6 month to a year to get back up to speed. Best of luck

    Thank you for sharing. Jeremy, of Simple Little Life did a video using an air needler. The results look very similar. Love your channel!

    I've been watching a lot of your older videos lately for some inspiration, I feel like you're one of the most versatile knifemakers on TH-cam, as in, something every video. Never just a walkthrough of some basic knife or w/e, always some new, creative stuff.
    I'd like to see the volume of the background recording lowered a bit, perhaps. Sometimes, when a grinder is chewing some steel, I find it difficult to hear what you're saying.

    Old video- I know. Do you think the electro etching would work on 1018? I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t, but I’ve never worked with high carbon 1095 like this. My application is not knife making.

      Yes absolutely

      @@DIYeasycrafts thanks! This might be a nice idea to make a chunk of machined low carbon steel mimic (or blend into) cast iron. Much appreciated!

    I have tried to do electro etching with a battery charger, but can't get it to work. Could it be that yours is older and doesn't have a safety feature that newer ones have?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you need the older style charger or other 12v 2 amp power source

      @@DIYeasycrafts I have been using a PC power supply, but it cuts off mid etch, so... I ordered a benchtop DC power supply. Hope that works better.

    Could you please share the salt:water ratio used?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im like a chef that does not use a recipe! LLOL. I just pour in salt. If your not getting a good etch add a little more.

      @@DIYeasycrafts Haha, a pinch of this and a twist of that, gotcha. I probably need to add more salt, thank you!
