We had a six foot oscillating sander at my old shop.
    Loved that machine.

Nice job. I may have to do one of these. I’ve always thought a Mora blade with an Opinel handle would make a great tool.

Pretty nice work, but when you pulled that knife out of the new sheath and there was some torque towards the blade edge, with your fingers wrapped around the outside, I thought you were going to have to go to the ER for emergency tendon surgery. I see that you did cut the inside of the sheath a little bit. Try some sacrificial leather on the edge side, or maybe add some rivets or chicago screws to enhance the safety for your fingers. I watched your video because I want to build a couple Morakniv blanks into knives.

I would prefer it the other way round. Looks nice though.

They usually drill the handle but i hope the glue holds up.

I used a two part epoxy to fully secure the wood handle to the tang of the blade. Very durable and hard once fully cured.

Drilling is the only way to go if you want it to last.

@@WithDavidsHands Yeah gotta agree with the above, drilling and pinning the tang is best.

As someone who just had to buy a morakniv sans handle because I needed a carving knife with a curved blade and these were all they had, how necessary is the brass bolster? I’m just trying to whittle, don’t really want to have to buy brass and brass cutting tools.

The brass is not necessary at all. You could use wood or just about anything for the bolster.

All well and good, but I didn't understand why you didn't make the handle thicker for a better grip on a work knife that takes a lot of pressure with every cut.

Handle's too small and that cut in the handle that you filled with epoxy seems to me to be an obvious point of failure. Should have drilled it and pushed the tang into the handle from the top -- like Mora does.
