Hi the difference between a gnome and a gonk is that on a gnome you will see the whole face while a gonk only has a nose visible.
Gonks are from norse folklore.

The reason for the higher prices in Canada is because our dollar is only worth about 0.70 American cents.
Canadian currency is higher than USA
Sudoku has nothing to do with math, it is logic you could sub letters , characters, colors, etc for numbere.

Oh Heather and Paul. I agree with one other thing. I think laundry detergent should be part of their groceries. Because it had gone up a lot and they really need to do it. Laundry right. Just like babies need diapers, just like everybody needs. Clothes like that is an essential thing. That's that's really different than Canada. Rolly yes

I totally got what you said about the detergent.....and having to wash clothes. That was something I never understood about food stamps.....you could use them to get junk food and soda but you couldn't use them for soap, deodorant, etc. Just couldn't understand that....

Things are more expensive in Canada because one Canadian dollar is not equal to one US dollar. FYI, same thing in Australia.

Pricing is set by market forces that affect buyers, not by production costs.
Canada is a much smaller country than the Us and one side-effect of that is that there is less competition amongst retailers for most goods.
Less competition leads to higher prices.
And Tariffs and Taxes are higher in Canada than in the United States

Exchange rate is why there is a difference. To know how much $ you have to convert the US dollar to Canadian Dollar

I don't think they're more expensive in Canada. I think their dollar value is different than ours.
The price value is not more in Canada, it's just that the Canadian dollar is worth a bit less than the American dollar. So more Canadian dollars make the same value.

Canadians don’t use American dollars. Canadian dollars are often worth about $.75 so it takes more of them to make equal the American cost of an item.
Because they add the conversion for the money.
A lot of things in Canada are more expensive because of shipping and our dollar is not worth as much.

The cost difference of the American dollar and the Canadian dollar is different, the Canadian dollar is not worth as much at the American dollar. It varies daily but on average the American dollar is worth more, so it takes more CDN money to equal US dollars. Therefore it cost's more CDN money on every purchase.
