I absolutely love these things and after doing the video on them I realized how great these would be for my lifestyle with the new camper. When the camper is off, I can mob the jeep and live out of this thing!
I am a part time "live out of my pickup" kind of person. I have been considering a covered utility trailer for camping. This looks like it mught be a better alternative, and cheaper as well. I have been using tarps for life outside the pickup, but with multiple physical issues, and age, the constant bending over to set them up and tear down has become more and more of an issue. I have contacted the company, and will probably be getting one, with a vesitibule, when they become available again. Thinking this would be ideal for winter camping with a little buddy heater.
Don't do it, these $1500 ShiftPods are just an overpriced $200 Ice Fishing Tent.. The company that makes these things are just hoping nobody has a friend from a cold climate who will point them toward much better options from Eskimo (among other brands) who offer the same tent design for a fraction of the cost..
I just got a shift pod 2. I plan on living in it for 3 months in the desert. I camped in one last year with a friend and I knew it was the only shelter tent for me.
Ice fishing tents are identical and 1/3-1/4 the price. Plus not having the reflective material it will absorbed warmth from sun. Look into Eskimo,Strikemaster, frabill, clam brands same thing minus shiny outside
Exactly - These ShiftPods are just an overpriced Ice Fishing Tent.. The company that makes these things are just hoping nobody has a friend from a cold climate who will point them toward much better options from Eskimo (among other brands) who offer the same tent design for a fraction of the cost..
Wow! Bravo gentlemen, this is a capital idaa, your implementation and commitment to charity is both notable and respected, rest assured you will soon have a customer in me!
They have been making these for 10+ years for icefishing...he just took the idea and added some reflective insulation to it and probably charges 5x as much. They do work great though, I have 1 for icefishing.
Great Video! Thank you for making this video! it would be great to design a kit that permit this kind of material to cover micro mobility transportation, to help keep the micro mobility community protected from the elements, while in use (such as during rain and wind conditions). These are great!
I am so impressed with what you guys are doing and have done .I think it’Sheraton. This is something I sure would help people in situations like what just happened to the people in Texas with no power and being in the cold.👍👍👍
I love this idea, i have just been introduced to the clam shell gazebo type tent, live it, this will definetely take a bit of saving but wow what a great concept, cheaper than an air stream caravan .... 👍😉
Really looks like an awesome product, and thanks for showcasing it! Very cool! By the way, I saw you and the boys doing the snow camp video; glad to see this device works in that climate as well!

I just started looking at these and the Gazelle tents this week. Sold my RTT yesterday in favor of the Shiftpod 2. Going to call them tomorrow to verify a couple questions I have, but 99% sure they are getting my business. Price be damned, the space and convenience makes up for the price! I'd consider a pop up ice fishing tent for price, but they don't have floors, and being in the Pacific Northwet.. a floor is necessary.
How are the seams done so the rain does not get in. All the seam seal in my new marmot tent flaked because i stored the tent in my garage in Florida . The tent totally flooded next use.
That's awesome about giving to the homeless. I live in my truck but i see homeless in Salem Oregon that just freeze at night because they got nothing but the clothes on their back.
are the exhaust ports fireproof/ meltproof? would love to be able to use a wood stove, inside that thing, but in this case the pipe (chimney) might have to go horizontal?
Never seen these before but could see trying them out for camping since the typical problems with tents are why none of us ever want to use regular tents which are nothing but a hassle.
How well does the surface of the Shiftpod resist UV light damage? I guess if you are in really hot bright sun you can always somehow pitch up a shade cloth additionally. Rain fly for rain?
That's a easy way to start off grid while you build your tiny home ....very sustainable... 4 season's no problem. Or just keep life simple and live in it.
I am looking at these things and thinking, I could live in a couple of those pods until I get my cabin built. Any idea of the cost? Great show. Take care. Vaughn

Waterproof is all that I needed to hear. Screw a mortgage.
2bullcrap Yeah man I’m thinking about using one of these for a year when I move haha.

"Run it to failure" is a phrase that makes every testing engineer incredibly giddy.
I'm starting out my day in my Big Tent by watching a video about tents! Love the video dude, looks like a badass way to circle the wagons.
Dude I knew you would love these! Just needs a hole for your wood stove 🤙
@@Down2Mob Haha, you read my mind
I wonder what they would use for a bathroom?
I'm sitting in my tent to lol
Thank you for recycling your left overs to help the needy.
Isnt that cool? I love that
My hubby was blown away by these pods. He is seriously thinking of getting us a couple. Thanks for sharing.

The entire west coast needs these!!
The utilizing of extra material to help the homeless really got me! Tremendous product, tremendous humanitarians! BZ!
I CAN'T make my bed that FAST!
(yes I'm yelling, but...)
THIS dude is AWESOME! 😃
I just got a shift pod 2. I plan on living in it for 3 months in the desert.

I've been considering buying one and use it for my snow camping and lo and behold you put the video on one. Thanks answered lots of my questions.
That's awesome Jesse! I am.glad it could help, Christian and his team make an awesome product. Tell them d2m sent ya!

Been watching this company for years. Just bought my shift pod 2. Will never need another tent!
Bad ass... I saw one of these at Apache lake last year. It was up in less than 5 minutes. Space camp reminiscent
Very slick idea! Will definitely look at these for our new overlanding setup!
Glorified ice fishing shack. So cool! Love the attention to detail and insulation quality.
Wow! Bravo gentlemen, this is a capital idaa, your implementation and commitment to charity is both notable and respected, rest assured you will soon have a customer in me!
That's awesome to hear Steve, I agree that shiftpod does it right by giving back and what a great product to be giving - a home.
Condensation issues?

Same with work tents for my telecom job. Not a new design. Ours are made by Pelsue.
How much heat and warmth do they withatand?
I've never seen them before. Looks cool. I like the reflect ive aspect , does it actually work? In that aspect?
Of course he charges 5x as much. It's Kalifornia, they pay 5 times as much.
$1500.00
Thank you for giving to those without.🙏🥰
Great video on the Shift Pod!! I’ve been eyeing these for sometime. Sold my 3rd RTT a year ago, I have an Oz Tent these look way more spacious!!
They are super spacious! Glad you could get a first hand look at some of the features
Thanks for the video. Been wondering about these since seeing them at burning man
Of course, they are epic shelters. They dont feel like a tent at all
I'm not generally enamored of tents, but I think I could handle one of these. The prices are better than I had guessed, too. Great idea!
Great Video! Thank you for making this video!

These are awesome. Seems like it would be pretty comfortable living in full time
Right? I think so too!

I’d like to see how the shiit pod performs in a storm. Nice concept. 😆👍
I just bought/orderd one today!! I dig your vids about it. hoping it arrives before i go to the Not-Burning-Man.
I am currently working in the Bahamas helping out the hurricane victims and I have seen quite a few of the shelters in the area
This a fantastic product thank you guys for developing it awesome love it.
Those tents are really cool 👍🏻
love that they give back. So im in!!!
I'm definitely picking up a shiftpod mini for some slab city camping
I love this idea, i have just been introduced to the clam shell gazebo type tent, live it, this will definetely take a bit of saving but wow what a great concept, cheaper than an air stream caravan .... 👍😉
Super cool. Love these. Could definitely use one of these. Have to save up.
very well engineered! There's nothing useless, great processing cycle, proportions are nice, I do like that!
💯👍👏👏👏!
This is the way!
The ShiftPod 2 is cheaper than a modest RTT, and obviously more versatile!
I'm definitely in 💯😍.
This reminds me of the lost in space TV show well done guys, just add pontoons and you're ready for the flood
Hahaa that is an awesome reference! I'm glad to hear that
Floating tent...excellent idea!
That was intense! Gotta get one!
@Daniel S I stand corrected. The makers must be sewin' tents too.
Those tents are amazing I wish I had a few of them
Wow! Great idea for the homeless with the exception of a location. There are so many homeless and the numbers are growing.
Wow, that tent is so cool. In checking that out.
Really looks like an awesome product, and thanks for showcasing it! Very cool! By the way, I saw you and the boys doing the snow camp video; glad to see this device works in that climate as well!
Can they work on making a rooftop tent with the same idea? That would be an awesome thing.
So cool!!! And awesome how they give back!
Sweet! This is just what I have been looking for! Thank you!😊👍👍
Holy cow!!!! Those tents are 1500$$. An ice fishing shelter is 149.00$. I get this has a few more options, but 1300$ worth of options?

Cool. I’m going to the website now
This is super neat! Really similar design to the gazelle tent which I thought was interesting. Thinking about getting one of these for some property
Forget Overlanding! with this I'll be Overloading!
Idk, it weighs significantly less than any rooftop tent, probably less than 1/3 the weight
@Chris Valin ahh good call, that's probably what it was!
I got a tent like this I use for hunting, accept its cammo instead of silver. Never thought about using it to camp in but it is really easy to set up.
Christian? You rock! What a great guy and awesome product! I’m going to get one
Really cool tent space 😎
How can you buy one of these shift pods How much I bye
That would be dope to put in my room for design or meditation.
Im a family in need!
But its nobody's business, what... lol..
What a coincidence. Yet you’re typing this on youtube.
Really creative and a practical shelter!
How are the seams done so the rain does not get in. All the seam seal in my new marmot tent flaked because i stored the tent in my garage in Florida . The tent totally flooded next use.
Really love this tent!! Wow.I’d like to have one of these. Can one be used for recreational purposes?
No fun allowed.
That's awesome about giving to the homeless. I live in my truck but i see homeless in Salem Oregon that just freeze at night because they got nothing but the clothes on their back.
Wow amazing product!
Love entire concept 😉😉😉
are the exhaust ports fireproof/ meltproof? would love to be able to use a wood stove, inside that thing, but in this case the pipe (chimney) might have to go horizontal?
I wonder how well it works in extreme cold, winds and snow load?
Those are pretty sweet. I'd be interested in how they look when the desert winds pick up.
Hey thanks for watching Joel! We talked about a wind test a bit later in the video and they have been tested up to 109mph! So cool
@@Down2Mob come on they are squared, it will all depend on how strong is the adhesion to the ground
@@raulrrojas your correct. With the spikes provided and tests they did it failed at 109mph
@@Down2Mob like flat earth, if you belive it, good for you.
@@raulrrojas totally the same thing 🤣

It comes with what SHIFTPOD calls a ‘blast shield’ to help with UV and really bad weather. It would be similar to a rain fly for mere mortal tents.
Looks fun.
I am going next year! I get serious fomo watching all these KoH videos lol
Plenty more to come this next week! Haha but yes you should come next year for sureee!!
Where is this camping ground? And is there financing?
These are wicked cool
Very cool tents, thanks man
Great review thanks brother!!! 👍👊
are they fireproof ?
Just like the clam tents.
That's a easy way to start off grid while you build your tiny home ....very sustainable... 4 season's no problem. Or just keep life simple and live in it.
Exactly! It's so versatile
I have a question. Is the support system for the tent capable of supporting a hammock and it's occupant?
Definitely not.. It just pops open with lightweight rods..
I could actually retire in one. I spent 40+ years sleeping in a semi. So I'm used to camping anywhere.
How would these hold up to the Texas heat ?
I'm really wanting one...
Awesome video!!!!!
Wow...I need a couple
Can this be used for hot tenting?
Your opening shot of your truck on they edge of a canyon, is that off forest road 300 on the mogollon rim?
Brilliant! U r a smart man!
To bad there isn't a smaller one that can be carried on a motorcycle. The Mini is 40" when stored. I'd love to have one.
Roof Top Tent Manufacturers " Get off the ground". Regular Tent Manufactures "Get off the Roof" LOL. Good to have options......
Haha true!!
Hammock campers just hang around between the two.
Is it affordable for an ordenary joe ?
Really cool!
Brilliant. These should have been used to isolate the COVID19 virus patients.
How is it anchored to the ground
When it's super windy ?
With the pegs he LITERALLY MENTIONS IN THE VIDEO!!
Its like a tent tent. Funny how things come back around...
🤣 I see what ya mean, but this is unlike any tent I've been in with the insulation. Sound and temperature, its awesome
Is that cool? Cool... bro. That is so cool. Yeah... really cool.
Oregon is still in need
I want one!
I am looking at these things and thinking, I could live in a couple of those pods until I get my cabin built. Any idea of the cost? Great show. Take care. Vaughn
They are about $1k each. I am thinking the same thing, like I almost didnt need to buy my trailer temporarily lol
