I'm really into this series, and was just looking back at this video. I'm not sure if you've already added this, but I'm pretty sure that when mobs frozen by ice arrows are hit, they take triple damage and are unfrozen. Anyway this is amazing, I'm excited for episode 5!

Could you try keying Daruk’s protection to a different thing? While using Revali’s gale the red particles are really distracting, and when I was using it to escape a swarm of mobs then the protection triggered instead. Don’t see this as criticism (please), you are my absolute favorite TH-camr and your channel does not get enough credit. I love your project, and don’t give up when things get hard! I’m pretty sure you can make anything with command blocks when you try, you’ve done so many things most people could never. Keep up the good work, and remember to never give up.
Thanks for the kind words! And no worries, I'm always happy to hear feedback. I'm not the biggest fan of the overlapping controls either, but I can't detect a lot of other key presses unless they already do something in game. Do you have any suggestions for what I could try to detect instead?
As in sneaking and then right-clicking would trigger it? Actually- you would also need to detect if the player is on the ground so that it doesn’t happen when you end bullet time. I think sneaking you can detect, I know you can detect the villager trade, and since you can detect if a player is airborne I assume you can detect if a player is on the ground? Either by it’s own key, or detecting if the airborne key is false? I don’t know a lot about commands, I hope that made sense. :)
oh my god please make water electricity XD I would love to see the small details jus' saying. Your work on this project has been absolutely amazing so far oh my goodness lol. I know I'm a bit late, although I really want to see this datapack get bigger than it is! Seriously good job!
I had an idea for how to implement runes! A custom written book can be in the player's inventory as well as a carrot/warped fungus on a stick that's retextured to look like whatever rune is selected. In the book there will be several clickable "links," each of which sets the player's rune score to a specific value, with each value corresponding to a different rune. When the value is changed you can set the data for the carrot/warped fungus on a stick, and that will change not only the rune used but also what the item looks like. As for how to work the individual runes, that much is totally your call. I'm just wanting to help this be perfect, because both you and this datapack deserve it.
Thanks for your input, this was pretty well thought out! I don't know if I'll use a book, just because the fewer items the player needs to use, the better. I'll try it out though to get a feel for how well it jives with everything else
@@Howzieky Also, I have a pretty bad computer - which is getting slightly worse by the day - and the poor performance may be affecting the way the pack works. For one, even in a solo world I experience heavy server lag, and I know this is the cause since it was nowhere near as bad before I installed it and became "Link." Second, climbing is incredibly buggy, resulting in one of three outcomes: I can't climb even though it seems like I should be able to, I climb even though I'm walking through a non solid block like tall grass, or I can't _stop_ climbing. Even had this weird thing with lily pads that makes you repeatedly float into the air and drop back down when I was just standing there, just standing on a random lily pad in a swamp. Last but not least, when I use Urbosa's Fury, at a random spot I'll end up finding a ton of Evoker loot. I know it's Evokers because I have a mob head datapack installed. I initially thought it was just a glitched Pillager patrol, but when more totems and whatnot spawned again the second time I used Urbosa I knew something was wrong. All in all, just from Urbosa's Fury I had gotten over 35 totems of undying. Edit: As for the written book, I suggest that because it's less inventory-intensive than making a separate item for each rune, and just typing into the chat "/trigger setrune cryonis" isn't really in the spirit of it.
Hahaha, you've found a ton of the stuff I've been trying to fix with part 3! I've been trying to optimize this pack as best as possible, but without true event functionality, I may soon hit the limit for how fast it can run. Climbing has lots of issues because it checks whether blocks a certain distance in front of you are air. I'll need to create a block tag for non full blocks. The rest of the climbing issues are likely issues with the server lag. I really wish I could just enable ladder behavior at will. The evoker problem is because when I made part 2, I'd never tested this without mobLoot turned off. I believe I fixed this a month or two ago, but I'll have to double check. I really want to change how that whole system works, too, but the first thing I tried technically worked, so I just moved on. I'm loving the feedback, btw. I am curious too, what world are you testing this on? It's mostly just a large proof of concept, still.
@@Howzieky I'm running it on a survival world, I just wanted something new and interesting to try. Plus since I've never played Breath of the Wild - in fact, it's on Wii U as _well_ as NX (the old Switch codename, I find it a lot better than the official name so that's what I call it) and I have neither of those consoles, let alone any games for either one - I figured it was perfect for me. Unfortunately, not exactly the case. Besides, even though I've never played Breath of the Wild, I know exactly how each Champion ability works, and I know you can only use them a certain amount of times before a cooldown kicks in. Mipha's Grace is a single use every... I believe 15 minutes? The others are three uses before a cooldown that's a few minutes long kicks in. Daruk, Revali and Urbosa are all pretty easy to do, but Mipha is probably the toughest. My solution is to set a tag that checks if Mipha's Grace is ready to activate. If true, continually set the player's spawnpoint. Otherwise don't. This keeps beds useful for respawning, while still allowing the player to respawn where they die if Mipha's Grace is ready to use. Speaking of respawning, how would you handle Mipha's Grace in hardcore? Edit: Also, the lightning from Urbosa's Fury causes fire to appear, making some of the dropped items get burned after shocking the enemies. Also, shocking enemies results in a completely different type of bow spam if skeletons are shocked. This isn't quite as big of an issue with Shock Arrows since, while you do still get the bows, the arrow hit a skeleton and that's on you. Urbosa just zaps everything around you, and while it's no big deal in Breath of the Wild since you usually have a pretty big inventory for specific types of equipment, in Minecraft those bow slots could also be diamond slots or potion slots or anything that *isn't* the bows dropped by a billion skeletons.
I’ve always wanted to do this, but I simply just couldn’t, so I’m glad somebody’s doing it Edit: only 2,000 views? How? Nobody has done this before, and it’s amazing, yet, it only has 2,000 views. It’s sad only about 2,000 people know this exists

what's really cool is that your solution of teleporting mobs into the void to kill them is very similar to how ancient arrows are theorized to work. By teleporting an enemy with no destination.
This is good stuff. I remember making things like a custom inventory system (like OOT) and a functionnal hookshot, I did stop playing Minecraft though, but I might get back to it...
This is awesome! Just out of curiosity, I noticed multiple of the abilities use crouching as a detection method to activate, so how does the game know which ability to activate when a player crouches? Do they just all activate every time?
This is even better than amazing it's beyond words seriously!! I am subscribed now!! I can't wait to watch the rest and see what else you come up with!! Edit: this literally brought tears to my eyes. I feel like for myself BoTW was what got me through quarantine.... I have severe PTSD and struggle daily with depression so this game means a lot to me as it made an extremely hard time just a hard time. Thank you for taking so much time to take BoTW and put it into some where else.
All right I didn't find you from Reddit or any other place that the comments are saying. I've been obsessed with the idea of implementing Breath of the Wild combat in Minecraft since the announcement of the Nether update. The update got me thinking about everything I love and hate about Minecraft, and top of the list was combat. I have no programming experience, so I wanted to pay somebody to create a mod for me but then the pandemic hit and I lost my job. Do you think you could implement tapping crouch to Z Target the nearest enemy and a Perry system? Which is what I consider the best part of breath of the wild combat.
The Z Target system is interesting, I'd be putting an arrow above the nearest monster in view. That part is easy. Detecting a quick crouch is easy. Actually forcing the play to look at the selected monster is doable, but likely to be choppy. I don't imagine it would feel good, not with the 20 ticks per second that I'm limited to. There's no way to tell for sure without seeing it in action though, so I might give it a shot some time. As for the parry system, that's a little different. In Breath of the Wild, you hold your shield and press A as you're about to be hit. What would be the trigger in this datapack? You can't detect the player holding their shield, so it can't be related to that. Maybe if they have a shield in their offhand and they crouch? Then maybe if they let go of crouch, they're invincible for a split second, so if they get hit during that time it's like they parried it. But what stops the player from spamming crouch for infinite invincibility? In Breath of the Wild, attacks and parries are based on animations. There are animations that immobilize the player and the monsters when they attack. And if you parry, you're stuck in that animation until it finishes. This way, you're punished for making bad decisions or using bad timing. In Minecraft, there are no animations. As soon as I click, I deal damage. I can't parry a zombie hitting me unless I just wait for them to walk close enough. So basically, I don't know how I'd trigger it and I don't know how I'd balance it.
To make the pack more optimized you can use a tipped arrow that gives the luck effect becuse you can change the color of the arrow when changing nbt. You can also use a predicate to detect shield use. Lastly when detecting left click summon enemies around the player so you can be detected even when flicking the mouse. I know this commet is a bit late sorry.
Isn't daruuk's ability only triggered que blocking with a shield? Also I think daruuk's is breaking when urbosa's is activated, it would be great to have control on when they activate as the crouch button seems to be doing a ton and might lead to activating unwanted abilities when triggering others. You are doing a fantastic job! Keep it up & subbed!
Thanks for the feedback! In the video, Daruk was getting triggered by Urbosa. I had two lines of commands out of order, so it was like 1. Summon lightning on Urbosa and every monster 2. Move Urbosa away from the player Once I switched those two, the problem you mention went away. But it was after I'd already filmed that clip. Good eye, btw. As for the shield, you're correct, but I don't know of any better options. As I mention in the video, there's no way to detect holding up your shield. Plus, in Breath of the Wild, you can activate Daruk's Protection without even having a shield. So I need to have a button that allows the player to activate Daruk's Protection at any time, and the only solution I found is crouch. If you have any specific suggestions, I'm definitely all ears!

This guy has dedication. You're so underrated but very good quality videos

Damn, this guy is so underrated
This is gonna be amazing!
This is awesome! Just out of curiosity, I noticed multiple of the abilities use crouching as a detection method to activate, so how does the game know which ability to activate when a player crouches? Do they just all activate every time?
Subscribed after looking this vid👍😀
You're the best command creator ever 😃
This man is a absolute legend
Isn't daruuk's ability only triggered que blocking with a shield? Also I think daruuk's is breaking when urbosa's is activated, it would be great to have control on when they activate as the crouch button seems to be doing a ton and might lead to activating unwanted abilities when triggering others. You are doing a fantastic job! Keep it up & subbed!
Thanks for the feedback! In the video, Daruk was getting triggered by Urbosa. I had two lines of commands out of order, so it was like
1. Summon lightning on Urbosa and every monster
2. Move Urbosa away from the player
Once I switched those two, the problem you mention went away. If you have any specific suggestions, I'm definitely all ears!
hi, Corpse.
i didn't realize you started doing minecraft!!
best, friend!
the raviolis gale u made is sick
Fun fact luck arrows get you better loot while fishing
I’m guessing next is Cryonis, Magnesis, Bombs, and Stasis? Nice vid btw
