Thank you for being honest! I thought I was going mad. I had a pair of 25’s and they felt fantastic, but I had to swap them for a wide foot so I “upgraded” to the 26’s since it’s all I could find readily available. Unfortunately they feel completely different. It’s a minor change but they moved the midsole back so it’s way less comfortable for those who strike towards the front of their feet. If you’re someone who lands on their heels when running the Nimbus 26 is your dream shoe. At this point I might just end up going with the Brooks Ghost Max. Slightly less cushion, but it feels a lot more responsive, and versatile where you can run a little slower or a little faster, as to where the Nimbus really are only for those slow runs.
When you talks about max cushion running shoes, nothing comes close to new balance ffx 1080 v13❤. Absolute beauty & beast combined perfectly. Highly recommended for people who just started running. Trust me... U will love it😂
I'm glad you said what you said about the midsole. I have a pair of the 25's with a lot of mileage on them, and I slipped on a pair of the new 26's in a running store, and the foam felt completely different, a lot firmer. My 25's feel like marshmallows in comparison. Now I'm just not sure how much of that is due to the mileage I've got on them (700km) and how much due to the different foam 😕
The new 26 softens out when you break it in but it still won’t feel like the 25s. The 26 will be perfect for those that found the 25 too soft. As for you and me, it’s 25 for life
Another great review my friend, I have the 25 and find it is too heavy a shoe for me, despite being super comfortable. I don't run in it as it feels like a (soft) brick, I just use it for walking, which it really excels at. Don't think the 26 is going to change my opinion any time soon! I'll stick tot he On Running Cloud Eclipse, I really like that shoe.
Got the 25's and it's like running with a stove under your foot in the middle of summer here in the Philippines😅 quite curious how breathable this 26's are base on your initial thought. Hope you can also do a top 5 of your most breathable shoes for us living in a tropical country. Thanks again coach👍
That’s actually a very good suggestion. I’ll do one for sure. Yeah people did complain about the breathability of the nimbus but I never had a problem considering where I live. Fair enough for you though.
Great review as always. I feel if you get this shoe you probably don’t need a daily trainer like the Novablast. You could probably skip that and buy a speed shoe to rotate with this one.
That’s the dilemma that most people are in, well, not exactly a dilemma but you get what I mean. Weighing my up the nimbus against the novablast because they are now playing into each other’s strengths
Real talk, what's the problem with the 25s eyelets???? I was just running in mine today and they look good and work like every other shoe I've ever tied. I'm about 50 miles deep and I'm good with them on all fronts.
Fair enough… I find that that design is not as strong and resilient as can be. I have had people tell me the same. Where you have a wide enough foot it’s ok, but where you may have narrow feet you have to really pull those laces to get a good fit and lock down and that really challenges the lacing system. The strong form will be simple holes with metal rings around or some sort of reinforcement. That system is not as strong as can be over time. Watch my Ride 17 review for an example
Keep sending these requests my man… I’ll be forward them to the guys at Puma! 😂😂😂😂. I feel like I’m missing out because you seem very into it! I’ll look into it for sure!
Hey Audrey, great review mate. One question, I have the 25 and I had to buy the wide version cause the front was to narrow for me, is it narrow in the front on the 26 too?
No Gel on the front because you would lose the reaction and push the the foam provide. The Gel work only to absorb the impact, useful only for heel strikers.
I don’t know… because there have been other shoes that had this kind of formulayinclidong earlier versions of the nimbus. I just think it would be better for all runners if pace isnt the priority
@@AubreyRunning no, it won't be better, the foam give you impact absorption + rebound, something that the Gel can't. There is no necessity for gel if you land flat or on the front.
I'm very confused. Which of these shoes are cushion not cushion plush daily trainers but not too cushion sinking plush to be called daily trainers? Which is which? Which is better? 25,26 or maybe Pegs with air zoom (like gel) in the heel and forefoot ? I feel like it would be better to wait for Nimbus 27 when things are probably going to become more obvious.
I love the 25… in my opinion it’s a benchmark for what daily trainers should feel like. Some people don’t like the squishy feel but in my opinion that’s what makes it amazing
Is it easier to turn the legs over in the 26? I loved the midsole of the 25 but it actually made me a worse runner due to all the sink in cushion affecting my stride. The 26 sounds better for me as the perfect balance of max cushion and firmness
Comparatively yes it is easier but I feel like there are other shoes that do this better. I wear the gel nimbus for that exact sinking sensation to be honest for the easier and long miles.
Are these good for just standing a lot and walking? I'm on my feet a lot and was wondering if these are good for it? I'm torn between bondi 8, Gaviota 5 and these. What u thinking?
The 25 just didn't work for me. Some strange reason they caused my left knee to really play up and seeing as I've never had issues with my knees in the past so I sold them on before any real damage could be done lol
@@Pillyfrom3 I've purchased multiple different shoes since then, however my go-to daily at the moment is either the Asics Superblast or the Puma deviate nitro 2, both I find great deal better than the Gel Nimbus. Knee got immediately better once I stopped running in the Nimbus 25 so thanks for asking 😁
I love the edits. Thank you good sir, i bought one and its shipping very soon, can’t wait to try the 26 out
My pleasure and thank you for the kinds words and hope you will enjoy them

I hear you. Fair enough sir. I genuinely love the series for those slower runs. The 25 especially. I do get where you’re coming from though.

Great show for sure

Agree with putting gel at the front!
Absolutely, apparently that’s how it used to be

Duuuuuude...do the Puma Magnify Nitro 2. This shoe is an absolutely beauty. Max cushioned but feels like a nice and responsive daily trainer.

Can the Magnify Nitro go long ?
@nkululekomabaso4273 Oh for sure...40mm stack. Nitro foam is nice and responsive as well...soft but not tooooo soft.
Hey Audrey, great review mate. One question, I have the 25 and I had to buy the wide version cause the front was to narrow for me, is it narrow in the front on the 26 too?
It’s a tad more narrow. Go with the wide
Agreed
I agree with the comment here… go with the wide

Sorry, let me clarify. At 7am Saturday 27th I will have a comparison that will tell you. In summary, the 25 feels more cushioned than the 26.
Great review. I just cant see me every getting this shoe. Its more than Novablast and too close to SuperBlast for me.
Agreed, it’s getting unclear as to which shoe does what. This is why the 25 has a place in my rotation when it comes to asics
The 25 is a banger. Really like running on clouds. Definitely eased up a few niggling injuries i got.

Like the 24 best.
Great shoe, loved the colourway

Oh really? Thats the first time hearing of such an issue. Thats a shame my man because it truly is a gem of a shoe
I don't really get on with them either. Can only use for slow treadmill runs. The upper is too stretchy and loose I never feel secure in them.
@@Fozzee.1970 That upper is HOT as well ha-ha
What shoes did you get instead? Sorry to hear about your knee issues hope you’re better now

Which one is better these or the Nike invincible 3?
The Nike Invincible 3 is my favourite daily trainer so I may be biased 😂😂
Only one way to describe this colorway…🥶🥶🥶
Yeah it’s my favorite for sure
Almost all new running shoes from various popular brands have gained weight , they should be put on a calorie deficit🤣
😂😂😂😂😂 I actually laughed at this. Sometimes we write lol or use an emoji but I actually laughed at this!
They make to much longer sized looking 44,5 likes 45.....
Sorry I didn’t understand this
Too much editing for no good official reason
All feedback is welcomed over here 👍
Yeah I agree it’s a good review but sometimes the camera strays away from a view from the shoe
