Jay Williams a Duke alumni and popular sports analyst on ESPN was born in Plainfield with his mother, Mrs. Bowman-Williams, being a guidance counselor at Plainfield High School.
I am in Los Angeles now. Forgot how many really big houses they have in Plainfield- I am told Victorian homes----and also in the Woodland Avenue Randolph Road area.
Milton Gray Campbell was an American decathlete of the 1950s. In 1956, he became the first African American to win the gold medal in the decathlon of the Summer Olympic Games...Born in Plainfield New Jersey in 1933.
So many memories as I watch this video. But I cannot go back to what it felt like to experience all this as a kid. I wish I could go back for a few moments and just grab that feeling.
Interesting to see Plainfield again after so many years. I remember the 70s and 80s there. There was a great bookstore, and my father's friends ran a little appliance repair and refurbish shop not far from the grocery store. I enjoyed going there as a kid and checking out all the stuff they had and the work they were doing.
Wow took me back in the days when I walked the streets of Plainfield going to red tower to get my California cheese burger at park ave. am in Texas now I use to live on liberty and second st by the projects

What if there were no 60s riots? What will the pollution be with electric vehicles? The factory buildings are still up? Why can’t we us them to produce local solar panels? Magnificent church buildings. I am glad many streets speed limit is 25.
Drake house museum, George Washington walked in that house several times if I'm not mistaking during the battle of short hills. PLAINFIELD IS NOT THE HOOD, IT'S HOME...
