Man this was the best video I've watched in FOREVER.. I move away from north Plainfield in 2003. I grew up there and haven't been back since... This video brought back memories I haven't thought about in over a decade. Thanks for the video!

Hi Brian, I stumbled upon this video. Really fun. I went to school with your brothers. I was in the class of '78. You are right about the old McCutchen mansion being a nursing home. The back side was nursing care and the front side, the big house was actually for assisted elderly living. We lived across the street at 34 Rockview. Chris Carfaro

Great video! You hit three places I grew up with. Hydewood Park Baptist Church, East End Middle School, and NP Highschool. We lived at 220 Delacy Dr and I remember many many chilly walks to school. I live in Florida now and this was a nice trip down memory lane. Thank you!

Great job Brian. Thanks for the many memories. Your memory serves you well! I graduated NPHS in 1967 and can say the same as you - some things have changed, but many have not. I attended West End School for K-5 and Harrison School for 6, before moving over to the Junior /Senior High. Boy, has the High School changed! Both in and outside.I fondly remember Gregory's, Sear across the street, Chubbie's, Opdyke's, Caruso's, NPHS, Krausche Field and the lower field, Vitelli's and their sign. (One correction I have is that Mr. Peanut used to be where Fabric Land was, not a few doors down). I also remember the corner store where you show Desnoyers. That used to be a confectionery/fountain store and we used to play pinballl there when on break from the ShopRite/PathMark across the street. (now an office building). Desnoyers used to be much bigger and on the opposite corner from your location, next to a deli/meat market. When I was really young, my father often went to a hardware store that was between the ShopRite and the bowling alley. I can go on and on but will stop here.

I lived down the street on 9 Rockview Terrace. Green Acres Park was my back yard. I loved growing up there and had an awesome childhood in the 90’s. Street and Ice hockey was all we did. Thanks for this

I grew up at 437 Mountain Ave. in North Plainfield, my father bought the house in 1955, and my husband grew up across the street at 444 Mountain Ave. We played together as children. I graduated N.P.H.S. in 1966. I haven't been back in decades. My husband use to love the Texas Weiner's in Plainfield and also on Route 22, that was over 50 years ago. My father worked at "Locker's" furniture store in Plainfield, across from Gregory's music center on Front Street, back in the 1950's and 1960's. I also remember the store called "Two Guys From Harrison" on route 22 and there was a store in front of it called "Best and Co". So many memories have come flooding back. Thank you for these memories.

I lived on 153 Norwood Avenue 1945-1970. Always visited Mrs Gregory few doors away. She was so kind & loving like another Grandma. I live in Alaska now for 30 years & have not been back to NPlainfield. Great to see NPHS, East End School, & Gregorys music store! Thank you!

I grew up in NP, NPHS class if 1960. Did junior high at Stony Brook, Elementary at Harrison & Somerset school. Fond memories. Chubbys was the joint with stool and a couple of booths and a juke box where we were'nt allowed to go at lunch (but did). Spent many hours at the public library. Enjoyed the tour.

He called it Maple Street, but the house did get hit but a tree during Hurricane Irene. Everybody was safe. They were all in the basement and didn't even know the tree came down. The house was torn down about a month ago though.

I have too many comments to list them all. Great video. I was born on Harrison. Sinker pointed his gun at me once and asked if I wanted to give my mom a toe tag for Christmas. Lolz. We were at a house party. The host's parents had just moved and she snatched the keys. NPs finest thought it was being robbed by 40 teens I guess.

Some good memories in NP. Too bad the whole town got taken over and turned to complete shit. Now its almost an embarrassment... Good video though!
