    So as a 20 year Honda Mechanic it makes me happy you’re just jumping in and fixing stuff, if you don’t have any buy some jack stands instead of using a factory jack while you’re jacking the Hammer up, here’s a tip on the hammer job, using a hammer is the correct way to remove ball joints, the reason they’re hard to remove is because they’re a cone shape and they get stuck in the hole also buy a 5lb sledge hammer from Autozone or O’Reilly’s and to get them to pop out you smack the side of the ball joint basically the part the ball joint goes into is what you hit. At that point they will pop out and you won’t kill or hurt yourself, enjoy Hondas have fun but be safe and I promise you there’s great videos on TH-cam that show you the easy way to do these things. Also the threads on the bottom of the ball joint will get smashed if you hit them or Jack up a hammer into the threads.

    What I do is use a hammer to hit the joint thing to pop out instead of a jack hit the thing where you put the joint with the bolt thing it should pop out after 2-3 hits

    5:22 giving the mounting locations a decent smack will vibrate the metal enough to usually pop it right out. Something to keep in mind in the future. Some just will not come out the way you did this one. No matter how hard you try, and then someone with more experience comes along after a couple hours of watching you struggle and smacks it once with a hammer and it pops right out almost as if to laugh at you as well.... Noooo I definitely did not learn this the hard way... Nope. ;)

    • @crisnmaryfam7344
      @crisnmaryfam7344 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      6:42 Also another reason You dont do it this way.......Not safe. Possible damage to other components.. or yourself.. Just Smack it.

    4:30 That is bent to prevent vibration from allowing it to wiggle loose, and then subsequently the ball joint could Possibly, vibrate the nut loose and then catastrophic failure. Is this likely, No. Highly unlikely if everything is done properly.... But that tiny 5cent piece of metal is a hell of a lot of piece of mind. Even In the event something is not done right, Say the castle nut / ball joint nut were not tightened all the way, this tiny piece will hang on long enough, holding the castle nut on, for someone to notice Something is very wrong.

    The part where you put the camera on the ground and you drive over it in the intro is really creative and then the car is so low it hits the camera over great intro

      @@AccordEmpire I finally got the replacement and went to install it today. The tuning fork ball joint separator I rented from Oreilly was no good so I went to Harbor freight and bought a $20 one from them instead. That $20 was well spent, I was able to remove the stock arms in 10 seconds flat each. The rented one sucked. I increased the arm length maybe 5 mm but barely notice any correction. Going to take it to a wheel/tire center and have them dial it in.
