Reason for using lemon peel is because it has great cleansing capacity due to the level of acidity present in it, well you can try orange peel and see the outcome

Thanks, you don't need any preservative, the salt and lemon is a natural preservative on it's own
The longest I've kept mine is 3 months

I haven't done that before but there's no harm in trying
