I knew Kosmic had started a speedrun channel, but I didn't realize that was where he'd been doing his romhack Wednesdays... I was wondering why he seemed to stop doing those.
IMO you should remember to occasionally shill your other channels on the main (and vice versa, I guess)

I don't know if I'm disappointed with 8-4 being so close to the original, or relieved that it's easily navigable for veterans. Fun romhack either way.
Also, I consider myself a big fan on the OG Metroid, but you did a lot better than I would have naming everything. 😆 Names are not my thing. I just love the game.
Not only should the crouching sprite have been the Morph Ball, but the swimming sprites should've been spin jump sprites. :P
No, no, no. The swimming sprites should have been Samus in a bikini. That would have been a great call-back to the original game.

To do small fire Samus at the end of 7-4 looks quite challenging. Fire bar and axe at the same time; that would look pretty cool.
The "fire flower" sprite here heavily resembles the Metroid Prime "Charge Beam" item
Now I want to see Samus in Mega Man and vice versa.

This hack was released in 2004. Kosmic was released (I mean born) in 1995, so you are wrong.

the fire flower reminds me of the chest of the Light Suit from echoes, so maybe it's that? samus does get white armor, after all.

I was just kidding around originally, but that's very interesting and I appreciate the clarification. I study some Greek for Bible-study, so I find languages and transliterations interesting.
One more question then. Is it specifically "ze-bess", or specifically "zee-bess", or "ze-base" or "zee-base", or are multiple of these within a correct range of pronunciation?

btw, one of the most prominent Super Metroid romhacks is called Project Base, which is like a direct namesake to this
