I had that exact bike. My Dad got it for me. It was the best Xmas gift I ever got. Our farm had a quarter mile long drive- way, and over Xmas break, I put 250 miles on it, just going up and down that driveway. I must of been 12 or 13 at the time. And yup, I road that thing into the ground. Lol Great Memories.
The frame may have the build tag saying 1970 but the bike is all 1971. I owned a 1971 Honda CL100 (the scrambler model). I bought it with my paper route money, my first bike. I'm still riding 50 years later.
Bought one new just like it. When I come into my fortune I'll find one/restore,, must be green. I'll also get a SL 125,175 and 350! Charlton Heston drove a blue SL 350 in The Omega Man.
My dad in California paid around 400.00 for a bike for me in 1970. This is EXACTLY what it looked like and sounded like . It brings back memories . There was times I would ride it on the street with no helmet
This little Honda SL 100 would go great with my current bike,2015 Harley Streetglide Special,Jade Green.Seriously My first Motorcycle was a 1972 Honda SL 100.It was Candy apple Red though and looked a little different from this bike.Mine had big yellow decal on the gas tank with Honda written in it and yellow 100 decals on the side panels. The handlebars had a crossbar on them and the earlier models didn't but that was the only difference I know of.Loved that little Honda, rode it everyday after I got home from school.Gave it to my little Brother when I was17 and bought a Yamaha DT 400 that I rode to work and school. We kept that little Honda in the Family for 8 or 9 years until We bought our first Motocross Bikes,Suzuki RM125N'S which we Loved.
I took my sl 100 up a 4000 foot high mountain on a switchback steep road with hardpack and loose rocks. Part of it I had to slip the clutch and run beside it just to make it up there. It was getting toward dusk, no one knew I was this far away from home, I just wanted to make it up the mountain. I only had one ignition fuse and when I got to the top I hopped off the little SL 100 and it died, sure enough my fuse had popped. I didn't have a spare, I tried a gum wrapper, nope. Dad always said take electricians tape and loose change, I taped a penny in between the connections, it tried to run but kept dieing. I tried a nickel, the sun was about to go down, I knew I'd be walking the bike part of the way down in the dark if I didn't get it running. The nickel worked so I taped it up the best I could and cautiously made my way down the huge mountain with my now running motor and a great headlight. I told my dad about where I had went, 30 years later. I rode it a long time with a nickel for an ignition fuse, it was a great conversation started but it eventually made the coil stop working. I was 14.
@KAPLAN AMERICA Curious what this sold for? Not selling mine that I inherented from my grandfather, but it's an all original 1971 SL100 in candy blue with white accents. 1,300 miles on it. Needs a new coil, but that's it. :)

Got one of these in 1983 for my 10th birthday and it didn't look half as good as that one and that was 38 years ago.

Exact sam color.
Oh my damn I want that 😂
My second bike, sl 100. First bike tote goat with tractor tread rear tire.
grasshopper lol.
i would drive the wheels off that.
i have.
Needs valves adjusted or new timing chain tick tick tick
Beautiful 70s motorcycle. My dad still has his (red). It's 4-stroke, right?
now that you mention it, isn't it strange, that if Honda was so impressed with the success of the DT250, that the SL series never included a 250. ?
I guess they jumped from the 175 to the 350.. but the did add a 250 to the XL line
I was lucky enough to pick up a 72 sl100, was wondering if anyone knows the jet size for the carburetor last guy had a Chinese carb that did terrible.
While they were painting the fender, it would have been nice to fix the dent in the tank.
