  • Blacks in Fiji can trace their roots for thousands of years back to the Lake Tanganyika area in East Africa.
    Lake Tanganyika is an African Great Lake. It is the second-oldest freshwater lake in the world, the second-largest by volume, and the second-deepest, in all cases after Lake Baikal in Siberia. It is the world's longest freshwater lake. The lake is shared between four countries-Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Burundi, and Zambia, with Tanzania (46%) and DRC (40%) possessing the majority of the lake. It drains into the Congo River system and ultimately into the Atlantic Ocean.

    For your information my friend , Fijians don't have roots in Africa. DNA and it's language points to Taiwan. Fijians use the Tagalog vowels when they speak. It's origins trace back to Asia namely Taiwan. This vowels is strongly used in Japan as well. The Tagalog vowels which is also used across the Polynesia archipelago is (A,E,I,O,U) which for a start does not exist in any part of Africa. Secondly , our DNA which is the ultimate proof shows no direct link to Africa but Asia and the South Pacific and in most cases , Amazon. If there was any DNA link , then it would probably be a one off night stand type thing. People in Fiji are not well informed of this issue because they rely on hear say stories over kava or similar type setting and make decisions based on similar vowel sounds as suggested with the "Tanganyika" fib where in our language, it's pronounced " Tagani-ika).Two separate words describing fish in a sack and not one straight word which would have sound Taqanika (Notice the "Q" in this spelling) as oppose to the above from Africa. Our DNA points to Asia where our numbers are so similar to that of Taiwan , Filipinas , down to Indonesia. None of it exist in any part of Africa. Our double decked canoes in the past use to carry more than 3000 men and women. Their features probably changed somewhere between Indonesia and Melanesia. Though Fijians look like Melanesian's,( Dark Skinned ) their culture and language are that of Polynesia.(Lighter Skinned) Melanesians don't have chiefly systems and protocols as those in Polynesia like The Kingdom Tonga for an example. Melanesia just have like some sort of a headman's of its group similar to a chief but that's all there is to it, A chief. Watching this video makes me sad because of the mis information these market vendors are carrying around as if it's true when It's not. This tour guide lady is totally oblivious to the potential damage she could be causing us Fijians to the outside world. Govt needs to put laws in place to control this type of promotions where an inexperienced individual is involved. I am saying this from a sincere heart who has business interest in Fiji as well. I have shown this video to friends and so far one even responded with disgust and said this lady doesn't even know the Fintel building but she knows how to rot a tourist. On the same token, your video is the first where I've seen someone mention the term 'Black" Fijians. It's usually Melanesians or Polynesians. We weren't slaves in history but fierce warriors who established itself in Fiji some thousand years back and which was called" Fisi" by the Tongans or "Viti" in Fijian. These three countries are related one way or the other, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji. I hope this should shed some light as who we truly we are as Fijians. Have nothing against Africans either but rather not allow people carrying on fib hear say stories where it has become somewhat real to those market vendors. Goodness knows how far those stories have gone. Please stick to the DNA and vowels theory as proof, that's all. Peace. Here's one proof of many. th-cam.com/video/ex603AVm3TE/w-d-xo.html

      I beg to differ with your assertion that fiji/pacific vowels don't exist in Africa. I'm Fijian but can read Zulu easy as vowels are pronounced the same.

    • @ottohodd
      @ottohodd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mteokay1246 Zulu wasn't created from (A, E,I,OU.) or their identity wouldn't be zulu. Their DNA doesnt originate from Asia and they don't know massive double deck canoes that carry 3000 plus men and women. Fijians can learn other language fast because of those vowels. Pheeew.

    • @mteokay1246
      @mteokay1246 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ottohodd nah I'm correcting you when you say those vowels ( pronounciation) don't exist in Africa. THEY DO ! and never did I say the Zulu vowels came from Tagalog. Don't reach. And never did I say as well that fijians are from Africa. I'm speaking specifically to your vowel assertion. Btw, those vowels exist also in the Spanish language. If you can read Fijian, you can read Japanese written in Roman alphabet, you can also read Spanish and Zulu - as vowels are written and sound the same.
      Now to Fijians .... have anthropologists/scientists done a gene mapping of my people from the highlands of Naitasiri or Namosi. For sure Lauans are more Polynesians due Tongan intermarriages thus their genes are Southeast Asian for sure. What about the western provinces of Fiji ? I can tell you you'd find more Papuan genes in our lineage. And question then, what's the migratory route of Papuans who were settled well before the Polynesian downward migration from Taiwan ?
      It's interesting to note that one of the latest studies shows that the natives of Australia, considered the oldest living civilization, came right from Africa to Australia.
      Ultimately, everybody did, though it may not register as it happened approx 100, 000 years ago!

    • @ottohodd
      @ottohodd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mteokay1246 The creation of a language from it and the existence of it's pronunciation are two different things. Fijians can learn foreign language fast because of the existence of these vowel pronunciation are present. Same with English and the likes of it. But not necessarily the creation bit. Hope it makes sense. You're mixing it all in one pot. With PNG, over the yrs , they have been inter marriages between the two but when it comes down to the vowels bit to own it, automatically it separates us from them unfortunately. Meaning our voyage may have past and settled through them before moving on towards the south pacific. They chew beetle nut, we don't. That's another giveaway.

    I spent a lot of time in Fiji and never saw any black people. Just a lot of big Fijians and too many Asian Indians. You can blame the British for that move. The fijians were too smart to work in the sugarcane fields for the British. So the British brought in Asian Indians. They multiplied so quickly that they took over the country until the Fijians have had enough and they took their government back in the 80s.

    What ethnicity are Fijians? I have only met one Fijian person before she looked south east Indian to me I think she'd moved there from India and then to Canada. Are native Fijians like Filipinos, black or what? This one was all the vibes

      We Fijians are Pacific Islanders made up of both Melanisian and Polynesian ethnicities. Our culture is mostly Polynesian though and no we are not black. Indians were brought by the British when Britian colonized Fiji. Thats why the person you met says she's from Fiji. She is from Fiji but Indian ethnicity.
