    Another critical tip for new players is to place rally points of factories towards the front lines while factories have looped build cues of offensive oriented units like tanks and bots, which allows the essential and constant pressure on your opponent.

    The most important thing I have found is that to expand, as well as to make meaningful investments in units, and make them attack rather than idle, so they are not wasted investments that could have been spent on something else. Most battles will turn down to three factors, who expands faster, who makes better investments, and who uses there units most intelligently. Saying this as a 1000 ranked 200 game player

      You pretty much captured the variables involved in RTS. :)
      I'd say, it comes down to what your goal is. If winning is your goal, then you'll likely seek a more intelligent tactic as you stated. But if shenanigans and laughs are more your thing (me), than decisions and habits are a bit off the cuff 😕
      But yes, you are correct.

    considering that I've teached a couple of players how to play here's the basics,
    expand and grab all the mass extractors / hydros that you can, on the path of expansion use land scouts/air scout to avoid losing the expanding engineer
    after the initial build of land factories and maybe air factory switch a big queue to engineers and free commander from queue to use it agressivle
    after 5 or 6 minutes of game, you should have all you need queued, and you should spend 99% of time managing tanks and commander
    do this good and you can learn how to reclaim after you get good at this xD

    My usual approach to early game mass extractors is "outside-in, inside-out". The first order of business is to claim the spots at the halfway seperation line of the map, then rinforce them with T1 point defense and anti-air, then have the engineer fill all open slots back to base.
    Then from the inside out, I begin building mass storage and start upgrading my first extractors to T2. The defensive turrets at the far edges aren't gonna hold the line against dedivcated assaults, but they should present enough of a deterrence to essentially draw a line in the sand of where I'm (hopefully) not gonna budge. When the fighting starts I can also send bombers and interceptors to furter assist against attacking units.
    Playing UEF this eventually means blukhead defenses with multiple T2 and T3 point defense/AA turrets and T2 artillery where my defense line meets the enemy alongside shield bubbles and air superioirity over my own territory. If Naval is an option, Battleships and Cruisers to reinforce my shorelines and chip away at the outer edges of the enemy's defenses.

    - If you using temptate to cap T2 MEXes, include to this template T1 MEX as well, it will make capping a lot easier
    - T1 artillery is good against Aeon´s T1 tank Aurora ( not Aeon T1 artillery, that one is bad against Aurora)
    - if you wanna see opponent´s eco use "Advance strategic icon" mod , it is on FAF forum forums.faforever.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=2740&hilit=advance+strategic+icons

      @@medicraze92 That would be awesome.. during UEF build orders for example other tutorials often mention using engins, reclaiming and tier 1 etc but I usually have a hard time finding a balance especially when upgrading to tier 2.. what should I prioritize. often find myself in a mess let alone Tier 3.. what I find difficult is finding a balance, if I focus engins/reclaim I will get overrun by early units and if I focus units I will struggle with Eco and no engins (or not enough because they always die!).. very hard game to learn but really fun :)

    • @medicraze92
      @medicraze92  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ripperoo7086
      ya everything you're having a hard time with is dependent on so many variables.
      here's just a few.
      1: How many mexes are on the map.
      2: Are they close to your main base?
      3: how many are there?
      4: what's the size of the map?
      5: team game or 1v1?
      6: what does the reclaim look like? Lots of trees, rocks, both?
      there's so many variables that influence how you do things. If there's a lot of mass reclaim, do you prioritize unit production boosted by reclaim or do you boost your mex? well depends on what your opponent is doing? if he's ecoing, do you think you can cripple him fast enough to not be rewarded by the teched mexes?
      Smaller maps usually mean spam more until you sort of reach an impass.
      team games usually mean eco, but it depends on the players and current meta. right now i'd say faf culture leans towards mexes.
      focus on one thing at a time until you get a better feel of the game. If you're stalled on E, pause air, or turn off shields. You mentioned playing UEF, tittans take a chunk of E to run. I've seen players cripple their eco because they forget they have shields. just little things like that.
      But, i would say zooming out is one of the biggest helpers. helps digest the situation, and i would argue your eco as well. You'll more likely be aware of your edvantage or disadvantage, which will motivate you to adjust your economy accordingly.
      For example: You out spammed your opponent and are winning, but he's turtled too well with t2 pd. Well, now is a good time to control k some producation, factories, and upgrade you economy and land, or air...whatever.
      pretty generic answer, but just food for thought. Seriously, the list is vast. you just gotta get a feel for it.

    • @ripperoo7086
      @ripperoo7086 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@medicraze92 Wow really helpful reply man, thanks. I usually do 1v1v1v1 adaptive AI and then spam T1 units.. start with 5 or 7 engins and put idles on reclaim.. zoom out is defo true, I've learned how to manage multi units at different parts using CTRL+Move formation and it has helped a lot, confident in my unit control but as soon as I try T2 even with full map control my echo just dies.. yeah trial and error I guess and depends on to many factors like you said it's just so hard.. then finding the right balance of engins for when you need them as you expand is so difficult! I'd love you to do a FFA 1v1v1v1 vs AI adaptive (perhaps cheating AI if it's too easy for you) as UEF while explaining things slowly as you go.. that would be awesome! Explaining as you tech or reclaim etc, that would be very helpful for me and others I feel.. most tutorials don't have a lot of details for REAL newbs (only have had 2 weeks!).. your tutorials are awesome though, hope to see more cheers :)

    • @medicraze92
      @medicraze92  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ripperoo7086 well doing FFA vs AI is a very bad way to learn to be honest. AI, even when cheating don't behave like humans. They follow parameters that can be predictable. This leads to a play style you probably will get stuck in. I would suggest you play "all welcome" or "noob" matches just to experience the variety.
      To be honest, if you've been playing vs AI, you'll likely be better than a newcomer depending on how much they turtle (new players either spam as much as they can, or turtle...no healthy medium lol).
      So just give it a go.
      Also, hit me up on discord or FAF if you see me on there. I dont mind helping out.

    How do I stop myself from being nuked within the first 20-30 minutes? Every. Boody. game. People rush nukes or pull some bs like teleporting an ACU into the middle of my base & 3 shotting my ACU.
    Im amazing at creating defensive bases with excellent economy. But, I never get a Strategic defense up before I'm being bombarded with nukes. I try to rush em early sometimes but it seems nukes build so much faster, no matter how many T3 engis or SCU's I use to try and speed it up.

    • @TheManOfMyriad
      @TheManOfMyriad 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Addtionally, now matter if I have 100 air superiority fighters roaming the extension of my base with T3 air defenses galore, why do strategic bombers AlWaYs get through. Sure, got shields but they always power through the defenses.

      But honestly it sounds like a lack of aggression. If you have air, make something else happen. Strat mexes, make atty drops, etc. Disrupt the enemy from ecowhoring and making nukes. You're likely just in a turtle rut. Just change the play style. Make an inexpensive drop as a diversion for something else (like a tele, or strat snipe acu or t3 pgens). It hurts them way more.

    I modded the game so my commander builds about 30x faster, produces energy equivalent to 10x L3 reactors, and about 20x L3 mexes. Chalk it up to the cybrans researching advanced tech for superior battle effectiveness.
