+RA_ZLO Not to mention ho much the bonus health helps if you end up doing a telemaser snipe. If you've got t3 engineering and decent veterancy that's nigh impossible to stop even with antitele defense. Also there's cloaking, if you don't want to snipe with your com you can use it as a hideously powerful nigh unkillable combat unit ( watch out for spy planes, coms, scoms and GCs ) or simply hide it to make snipe attempts nearly impossible.
Hate it that they are tricky to deffend with but........LOVE its versetility and the only faction with a command unit in the game haveing a expermental wepon uppgrade ^^
A tip regarding circles with same radius: You can deselect the unit, open the strategic overlay menu in the upper left corner and select the desired circle there (e.g. anti navi for Megalith) to be shown constantly. Then just mouse over the unit to see all its other circles and easily compare them. :)
Laser + cloak ACU make for a very good aggressive defense. Instead of risking it running into omni, simply use it to defend your own forces intercept advancing army.
Lmao, as a Zerg Starcraft player I bought this game a couple days ago and went instinctively for the Cybran even though I didn't know shit about the game
Cybran does have a few defensive advantages: 1. Thier anti missile defense laser is amazing. Easily the best one 2. Thier T2 static artillery is very strong especially with power gens.
Their anti missile has identical stats and functionality to the seraphim and UEF tmd. IIRC there was some kind of derpy behavior with the UEF tmd that made it drastically underperform vs the other two, but that has been fixed since many moons ago. The t2 static artillery follows the general faction trends which are Aeon with the highest DPS and accuracy, and lowest AOE and fire rate, and Cybran with the reverse, with UEF and Seraphim between the two. That means that Cybran arty actually has lower total damage output AND lower alpha damage, but that it damages more things once it does break the shields (if you can manage to punch through, as it will generally take an extra Cybran or two compared to klinkhammers or what have you). I would say it is pretty tit for tat with the other factions, as the effective damage output is probably slightly higher due to hitting more units at once, but it struggles to take down beefy single targets.
I kinda scare everytime I use group of Trebuchet, often leave them on the frontline with radar and scout and have them kite enemy. Putting them back line they often blow away my army instead. I will stick with tech 2 arty. Btw, what kind of unit I put on transport to make a ghetto gunship??
ahh...loyalists...the only unit that can say F-you in the face of missiles and send em right back at ther lunchers ^^ a fun way to use them.. if your opponent tryess to nuke you with a commander tec 2 carried warhead..get a loyalist and watch his own warhead go right back into his face XD
Worth noting that a few salems around your base with aa support is arguably a better alternative to point defense given its range fire rate and very high muzzle velocity, I've managed to hold off t1 spam with a pair of salems 5 bangers and an ed2 shield.
@Der Richtige Arzt To be fair, they had a much smaller budget for Supcom 2 than they did for Alliances. Plus, Alliances didn't really make money due to its high cost so they tried to make it more for the common player to make money.
Probably my favorite utility of Cybran. Even though it does not have high BP (1 per unit). Having one to three Mantises assisting a engineer expanding whilst also able to defend is really neat. Five Mantises has BP equal to one T1 Engie.
So, it's 2020 now. Is someone able to tell me if any major thing changed? Or are these tutorials still 95% viable? I'm a newb trying to learn the game, so I try to learn as much as possible atm. Hopefully these great tutorials are still up to date.
scathis got major change now its double the mass and energy it used to be and its fire pattern and fire rate changed dramatically now instead of shooting 1 every second it waits then shoots 50 every 30 seconds.
Building uef T2 air transports loaded with bots along with interceptors is much more powerful than building jesters and still pretty cheap. They are fast , tough, have high health and high attack. As long as there is no T2 air or T2 AA you can dominate the battlefield in the early stage. Instead jesters are pretty fragile and lack AA defenses
Cybran are nerfed to hell, it's ridiculous. I haven't played for a while, and now I'm noticing a lot of underhanded sneak nerfs, like highlighting the spot where the ACU is about to teleport, or lowering the HP boost that you get when upgrading ACU to t2 and t3, etc.
They may all have received nerfs, but Cybrans are the ones who's the most affected by those nerfs. Because all other factions have different ways to boost their ACU health, like shields or regen. Not to mention their ACUs have more health to begin with. Cybran, on the other hand, really needed that HP boost from t2/t3 to make their ACU more sturdy, especially if they were going to do telemazer. I'm 100% sure that the main reason behind this nerf is to weaken the telemazer strategy, and the rest of the ACUs were nerfed just to appear less biased.
So they did some changing, and now it's harder for a sore loser to get one last nigh-unstoppable cheap shot in against their opponent? Balancing the game, so that when the Cybrans lose they don't have a completely unfair final retaliation? I see no problem :D
I think it represents different weapons unit has,for example blue is torpedoes i think yellow if ground weapon different collors could mean sonar or radar range if unit/s have those
Cybran is a really good early game if someone knows how to use them, I do and I could wipe my friends off the face of the battlefield but I dont cause they are my friends and I wanna give them a chance and have some fun, and either its my friends who dont know how to use their faction right or they are really good late game with the spider bots, gunships and rapid fire artillery, but I need some help with a water rush, like what should I do?
Mmm....can't agree on the idea that Cybrans have to not defend. I've gone up against 3 AIx factions (1 of each, and all unified against me) and still held my own. I have clustered shields, 1 in center of build area, 1 on each left/right end. Rows of tier3 AA make a solid wall against air attacks. L2 point defense lines will fend off land attack until I can get experimentals lined up. At that point the map is won. The Hive are a huge part of this, and mass extractors figure in if local, with mass fabricators having a powerful presence since they can be brought closer and guarded more easily.
+davidsirmons AIx attacks, plz. They're not like AlphaGo... yet. Check out how the pro's play Cybran and you get it why they suck at def. Usually offense is the best defense at least with the Cybran. Just don't donate mass in a stupid way to the enemy. Instead do calculated raids on eco and supply lines.
how did u get a tech 3 land aa for cybran??????? mod? not there in campaign I thought (can't get tech 3 fast I suck xD) soon thanks sorry for bad english
It’s kinda cool how they’re the revolutionaries and they also have the most guerrilla-warfare playstyle
As cybran commander, you should get your acu into a fight pretty fast, to make sure that you start use your extra regeneration advantage early

That and veterancy will help lots with its low base health.
Starting playing this game again. Need a refresh
Cybran in a nutshell. Is that a puddle on the map. Start building salems.
Hate it that they are tricky to deffend with but........LOVE its versetility and the only faction with a command unit in the game haveing a expermental wepon uppgrade ^^

My favourite support commanders, only one where you can have utterly invisible jerkwads capturing stuff or stealth air transports with decievers.
They have landships. that's all I needed.
Mantis build power!!
BRNKoINSANITY That really improves my knowledge about fighting with my loved cybrans. Thank you a lot!
Basically Zerg.
Lmao, as a Zerg Starcraft player I bought this game a couple days ago and went instinctively for the Cybran even though I didn't know shit about the game
Also a Zerg player, only played Cybran too haha.
More like Nod, I'd say. Cybran units are fragile, but rarely any cheaper than those of other factions. Their strength lies in subterfuge, not numbers.
Cybran does have a few defensive advantages:
1. Thier anti missile defense laser is amazing. Easily the best one
2. Thier T2 static artillery is very strong especially with power gens.

Btw, what kind of unit I put on transport to make a ghetto gunship??
light assault bot.
Speaking of ghetto gunships, Cybran T2 transport has an EMP on its gun, making them surprisingly decent assassins of isolated units.
Watching casts and seeing the cybran guys turtle makes me cry on the inside. Too many games have been turned completely around at that point
When a Cybran starts turtling, they've already lost and are panicking.
ahh...loyalists...the only unit that can say F-you in the face of missiles and send em right back at ther lunchers ^^ a fun way to use them.. if your opponent tryess to nuke you with a commander tec 2 carried warhead..get a loyalist and watch his own warhead go right back into his face XD
Yep XD that's why I play Cybran all of the time
It turns a warhead into a suicide missle
never knew building a factory under an incoming fire beetle drop would blow them up
thats pretty nifty
Worth noting that a few salems around your base with aa support is arguably a better alternative to point defense given its range fire rate and very high muzzle velocity, I've managed to hold off t1 spam with a pair of salems 5 bangers and an ed2 shield.
cough commander microwave lazer :D
Cybran melt any ACU near them indeed LOL.
I wish they would make a supreme commander 3. Its such a beautiful and complex game
@Der Richtige Arzt To be fair, they had a much smaller budget for Supcom 2 than they did for Alliances. Plus, Alliances didn't really make money due to its high cost so they tried to make it more for the common player to make money.
Can you/do you make/have hotkey tutorial and how to effectively use them?
Forgot to tell about the ability of the mantis to reclaim or help with building.
Probably my favorite utility of Cybran. Even though it does not have high BP (1 per unit). Having one to three Mantises assisting a engineer expanding whilst also able to defend is really neat. Five Mantises has BP equal to one T1 Engie.
@@jenbak2 fun fact, plural for mantis is actually mantids. The more you know
So, it's 2020 now.

Wait wait how long have they had that T3 mobile anti-air? I thought that was added by the Black Ops mod?? How have I not noticed it???
Very informative. Thank you.
Cybrans backstory vs there play style is so confusing

What do the different color rings represent. (red = ?, blue = ?, etc)
And how do you get them?
I think it represents different weapons unit has,for example blue is torpedoes i think yellow if ground weapon different collors could mean sonar or radar range if unit/s have those
How many firebeatles does it take to kill an acu
Never see anyone use their mega for additional build/reclaim. There isn’t even the transform downside of the fat boy.
Jesters are cheese- Brink 2015
UEF all the way!
But, it's good to know the enemy.
Thanks for uploading.
Can we always found some ranked game without waiting 20 minutes?
you forgot the best thing to destroyers to artillery
1 ship got 14-15 times hp t3 artillery so it didnt die by t1and smal t2 bomber groupes
Not enough mantis
where are the other faction guides?
Cybran is a really good early game if someone knows how to use them, I do and I could wipe my friends off the face of the battlefield but I dont cause they are my friends and I wanna give them a chance and have some fun, and either its my friends who dont know how to use their faction right or they are really good late game with the spider bots, gunships and rapid fire artillery, but I need some help with a water rush, like what should I do?
how do you get that t3 AA scorpion thing it's not listed in the units I can build
+Guy Bucknell It's Forged Alliance Forever exclusive. It's not part of the vanilla game.
+Guy Bucknell incase none mentioned it , you need faf to get T3 ground AA , its one of the comunity units that the base game not contains
Yup, i can confirm this. Fa don't have T3 land anti-air unit
It's a Forged Alliance Forever added unit to improve game balance.
Wtf I always turtle with cybran. I love 90 minute matches with them or illuminate. I hate UEF tho

I see your regen being showed. What are the best UI mods?
This is all built into the normal faf patch. Just turn on the toggle for more unit info.
Thank you!
24:59 You sure that's not a mod?
Because the cybrans do not have a T3 mobile AA in FA, maybe in FAF?
Badgers Den FAF adds some units
how did u get a tech 3 land aa for cybran??????? mod? not there in campaign I thought (can't get tech 3 fast I suck xD) soon thanks sorry for bad english
Exclusive unit to the FAF client. Added for better game balance (ideally)
what mods you guys recomend me? for costruction help and stuf...
Most of the stuff you need is already included in the FAF version. Just need to set up the hotkeys
lol man i see u using templates and i figure it out that wasn't a mod rofl , btw u have nice vids man keep doing that.
8:18 *Beep*
where can i download this map
faforever.com and download the client
which factions is the best to dominate with?
Cybran
Cybran 4 the win!
You havent tried yet the uef T2 air transport rush then
Medusas can't stun t3 units (or at least othuums)
yep can't stun T3 unit.
It can stun only T1 and T2.
And loyalist death can stun T1, T2, T3, acu and experimental
Insidiak if medusas are stunning cruisers something is wrong...
:)
What happened to the UEF one ?
DaIzBlob Nex time. ;-)
That's probably coming last since that faction is self explanatory.
This faction has a lot of BUGS
Get it?
Can someone give me supreme commander forged alliance my name is lord farquadd in steam
