Great video. In my experience sheepshead are the worst bait bandits in the ocean. You do an awesome job catching them like you did. They are absolutely delicious! I never get used to the teeth in a sheepshead mouth. They almost look human! I have been still under house arrest (the virus) but had some outpatient back surgery today so literally laying low. Did finish restoring a beautiful Penn 722Z this afternoon. I still wish you could get into using a few vintage reels. I think it would make a great video! Keep these very nice videos coming. Thanks! And yes Joe was fishing also. I was glad he was willing to help me out. That is the cool thing about pier fishing, most of the time people are willing to help.
Amen to that, one time on the pier, I hooked up to a 30 ib black drum...pretty much snagged him in the eye with a treble hook while trying to snag bait,(mostly because for a strange reason, the Sabiki didn't work), it took me about 10 minutes to winch him in on the Mitchell 300, 20 ib spiderwire, and 7'6 medium heavy ugly stick.....it was awesome because the whole end of the pier filled up because of it, and the fact that the other guys were willing to help out too,( which to be honest, they usually are).....also because it was probably the only big fish cought that day
Just got back from down there, booked my trip before they shut everything down 🙄 got to fish out from a little pier in the lagoon which stunk. Where do you get those little crab baits from?
