Really? Even with the CCP's attemps to cover their abuse of people and the law, as well as their incompetence, their attempts are at such a simple and juvenile level, even a child could see through them. Shocking most Europeans would not easily see that.

Sadly many in Europe (or in UK in my case) many are ignorant and many choose to be ignorant. Many don't want to watch the news or do research and these are also the people that make up the conspiracy theories. Some who don't know jack shit about the CCP side with them and pretty much repeat the same propaganda back. It's really sad and disgusting to see this happening around me. I just know about a handful of people who actually know what the CCP is and how bad it actually is.

Also important to remember when people use the lifting out of poverty argument is that the international poverty line is 1.9 dollars a day.
Rural China has it's own poverty line of 2300 yuan a year. Roughly 0.9 dollar a day.
If you earn 1 dollar in Africa you will be considered in poverty but in China you will not.
Lowering the bar is an easy way to lift people up.
I have family in rural China. People there have not been lifted out of anything. They work hard and appreciate what little they have. They are strong but they have been let down.

YES...YES...YES...I have total empathy for your family and the other millions of poor Chinese that have been abandoned and left behind as the CCP elite and the new rich have been allowed to enrich themselves. Thank you for sharing this. I constantly see these CCP loving Barking Bozos spew-out this "whataboutism" of the CCP having lifted 600-800 (they say varying numbers) out of poverty. First, it was the communists and the CCP that put their people into such dire poverty...in the first place. Second, it was the hard-working and industrious Chinese people THEMSELVES...NOT the CCP...that have accomplished the improvements in China that the CCP shamelessly takes credit for. It was only after the CCP was forced to lift their boot from the neck of the Chinese people that the opportunity was made available to the Chinese people THEMSELVES, that great strides have been made. Yet, there are Millions that have not benefitted and/or not been allowed to participate in improving their situation. Yes, you state it correctly...they have been left-out and let-down. It is apparent and known...even to the CCP:
"The AVERAGE PER-CAPITA ANNUAL income in China is 30,000 yuan ($4,193), but there are OVER 600 MILLION PEOPLE whose MONTHLY income is BARELY 1,000 yuan ($140). It's NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO RENT A ROOM (meaning apartment) in a medium Chinese city."
< PREMIER LI KEQIANG > - on May 28, 2020, at a press conference held at the Great Hall of the People during The Third Session of the 13th National People's Congress.

China is a BIG country and even if the CCP had been promoting economic policies to reduce poverty in China, we cannot yet say that there is no poverty in the country. China has made amazing progress in various areas, such as aviation, transportation infrastructure, and scientific research, but there is still much to be done.
It's possible that even the mighty CCP has found itself in the same predicament as the Manchu Qing Dynasty. Governing the people of China required doing things "the Chinese way", instead of merely doing their own thing. The Manchus ended up having to Sinicize in order to have any chance of governing China. I sometimes say that in the war between communism and Chinese culture, Chinese culture won.

Check 12:10 in the video you are commenting on. "he talks about everything under the sun except for this massive crime". I guess you did not watch the whole video or did not paid enough attention.
He repeats over and over again that he talks about his experiences, about what he has seen and lived. If besides your imagination you have any fact to support your thoughts I'm sure it would make a very interesting speech.

Winston, you should do a story on how China has refused Australian Coal! $1.1bn worth now sitting in boats off the Australian Coast that they HAD ordered!! Now they are having power blackouts everywhere and the price of coal has now risen by 25%. Maybe Australia should put a 212% tariff on the coal when they come begging for it like China did with the Aussie Wine. Haha

I typically don't side with extreme viewpoints from both sides of the spectrum, I prefer the middle ground. However, Winston is very accurate in his assessment. These are comments that I'm very familiar with and here from a number of my Chinese friends in China. The Chinese people are resilient but being taken advantage of by their Government. Disparity still exists and returns from capital projects don't trickle down to its citizens; the measure for poverty is very low in China in respects to other countries. It's a fine line they now walk to avoid a middle income trap and an increased cost of doing business. I think Winston does a fair job to respect the resilience and endurance of the Chinese people.
