At least you understood the theme, from what I've seen in the past most of the other designers didn't, maybe because it interfered with " their Vision" and besides the Met Gala cannot afford you! 😁
They told me to dress for the job I want, but I wound up in the HR office dressed as the Goblin King. Beautiful dress. They should definitely invite you to the one next year.
Genuinely had no idea that the Met Gala was tonight, but now I'm excited to see what people come up with! Although I'm prepared to not be impressed. Also, props for dealing with all the ruffles, even if some of them were pre made. So. Many. Ruffles.
"People" usually dont come up with anything ... because "everything has been done already", which results in "them" going overboard towards ridiculousness. Oh and it also means that "the dress" becomes the focus of attention and "does the dress actually match the woman?" is being forgotten.
Um, you're amazing. Piecing snippets of video together gives the impression that this project came together quickly and easily, however, this must've been a labor of love over many hours, days and weeks. I'm glad you love the process. It's fascinating to watch. Thank you for sharing.
this video is really getting me through this Met Gala. It's SO NICE to see someone with something that a)they made themselves!! and b) is actually in theme
I’ve been WAITING for this years gala purely because the theme is so excellent, and this is a perfect little appetizer ❤️ I love this project and how it turned out
I mean this is the most wonderful way, so please don't take offense! Coming from someone who suffers with mental health issues, you seem in a much better place in your last two videos, and that makes me super happy for you! Keep smiling and keep working hard, and know you're doing a wonderful job! Your videos are always a bright spot in my day! 😊👍🏻
I love this dress! It is sooo you. And having a cliffhanger ending just builds anticipation to see the final version, which I will gleefully (yet patiently) await. Plus, the whole "Dress for the parties you want to go to" mindset is a total winner. That's definitely going into my "quotes and inspiration" art journal. ☺
WOW! This is all I can say...just WOW! I am older, I have my opinions of the Met Gala & I personally wouldn't ever want to go there. However, I am sure your dress would be the best one there. That's what I think
Yes the Fabulous Ms. Clayton. The costumes at the Met Gala were absolutely horrible, I dont know when designers went wrong, when did they decide that ugly is beautiful.
I now require this motto on a shirt and other merch "they say dress for the job you want but also, dress for the parties you want to go to" chefs kiss👩🍳👌
I don't sew, I make soap...but I love your videos. The creativity of your projects are truly art. Your narrative is always entertaining and I love the dog content!
On the flip side, I don't really watch sewing videos...but I do watch soap making videos. Tis the way of the internet, and thank you for the kind words! :D
Absolutely stunning. And with that quintessential flair that is what we have come to affectionately expect from you. I love that you embrace the flamboyant, sparkle-loving you. And that quote!! I agree with others in the comments, "Dress for the parties you want to go to." It is more than tshirt worthy!
I like the beads! While not immediately apparent at a distance, they create a nice point of interest up close and probably would catch different types of light in fascinating ways.
Definitely feel every frustrated issue you have with your projects, but you always find something to fix or minimizing solution. Loved how the mock up of bodice looked, can't wait to see this dress on you. You are a talented, resourceful & beautiful person.
this dress is absolutely gorgeous! i'm blown away, i love the choice of the white&heart ruffle, it adds a certain playfulness that suits the silhouette. keep up the good work it's stunning!!
This dress construction was amazing and the patterning all done free hand!!! I can't imagine how long it took, but I am assuming it was a few months. It is so pretty and could also be used for a Valentine Ball as well. You are so talented, it's a shame your designs haven't made it to the red carpet events. They should be for sure. I also wanted to comment that you sounded so much happier; more uplifted than before. I'm glad that you consulted with others as well. Having people to call on for suggestions, support and/or advice makes it easier to complete the project. I hope you are noticing it as well. Thank you for showing us this project and how it was done. I can't wait to see it on you!
well done this looks incredible, love the idea of ruffled fabric, wish there was more of it in plain colours such as organza, would safe a ton of time when making victorian garments
Normally I don’t like bows, but the bows on the back of this dress are so lovely. They look more like elegantly draped fabric than bows. Just perfection. I wish someone had hired you to make their gown for the Met Gala you would serve Rockefeller realness.
Hope my english is good enough… we love your creativity on everything you do. Yet You are very open on how you feel. It gives hope to everybody living with mental issue. Keep up your good work!
This dress turned out gorgeous!!😍 ghe white ruffles were the perfect addition, I agree with you. The white was to stark of a contrast between the red and the soft ruffles. I can't wait to see worn photos! When you finish the closures of course. 💜💜
This is stunning 🥺😍 I'm so tempted to make a similar dress now I really love the shape of this dress 😍😍😍 the amount of detail you are able to add is incredible, and inspiring!
I love watching your work come together. I love seeing how you add to projects slowly and how they come alive with the small (time consuming!) details. Such a beautiful dress.
Hi! I hope you had a fun day! I spent my day in my sewing room getting a big project done and now I get to sit and watch your video while I make yarn. I hope you have a fabulous week ahead. Thank you for posting this video and sharing your positive energy.
Having watched the video now, and listened to you apologize for not doing more I have to say, you did so much and it is so lovely. You have nothing to apologize for. The dress is a delight and I’d love to see the finishing touches if you want to share, and I think you’ll look lovely in it.
im so glad you agree on gilmore girls. i was subjected to it when my mom and siblings decided to binge the whole thing, and i couldn't escape as my old bedroom was right next to the living room and everyone in my family blasts the tv volume that said i wanna make my own met gala costume AND a lizzo robe recreation
Dude this is so preeetttttyy! I like the idea of additional bows or flowers or something to break up how linear the banding is on the skirt. I'm also super psyched to see what jewelry and accessories you end up pairing with this!
I am so blown away! This is amazing! Everything you do is awesome. I cant believe you said this is “just” what ive done… its a MASSIVE bit of work, lol
They don't know what they're missing! "Dress for the parties you want to go to" is an excellent life motto.
There is half a sentence missing: "... in your daily life."
Words to live by.
Yeah, but it’s not always appropriate to walk around ready for a hot tub party…
YES!
It would be awesome if the costubing community had an annual party of "Not The Met Gala" where the theme is the same but with more costubing flare
Yass!!
Yes, I agree. And in my opinion a much classier group of designers!
@@lauramarutz2356 who would actually follow the theme instead of an ego.
This legit sounds amazing 😆
That would be fabulous, every single time!
At least you understood the theme, from what I've seen in the past most of the other designers didn't, maybe because it interfered with " their Vision" and besides the Met Gala cannot afford you! 😁
Hi
They told me to dress for the job I want, but I wound up in the HR office dressed as the Goblin King.
Beautiful dress. They should definitely invite you to the one next year.
Even unfinished, this dress already looks better than a lot of the stuff worn to the Met Gala.
I am looking forward to that future project vlog.
Very true 👍
wearing a burlap potato sack would look better than some of garb I saw.
"All I managed to accomplish..." Girl, you have no idea how many people can only dream of accomplishing only on teeny tiny bit of this!
Genuinely had no idea that the Met Gala was tonight, but now I'm excited to see what people come up with! Although I'm prepared to not be impressed. Also, props for dealing with all the ruffles, even if some of them were pre made. So. Many. Ruffles.

I thought she talked about last year bc in my head the met gala was only a few weeks ago😳
I am prepared to see either no foundations or really bad era incorrect corsets. Fingers crossed someone will go all out with accuracy!
@@owlislike at least history youtubers will have something to do after the Met😂
“I’m committed to my art. And by art, I mean sparkle.” 😂🥰 yes!
"Dress for the parties you want to go to." Hahaha! I LOVE it, Angela! I will be doing more of that from now on.
You mean Kim Kardashian didn't make Marilyn Monroe's dress? And it actually didn't go with the theme of the Gilded Age? Wut????? LOL
I’ve been WAITING for this years gala purely because the theme is so excellent, and this is a perfect little appetizer ❤️ I love this project and how it turned out
This is gorgeous. It would make a great Queen of Hearts dress or even for Valentines Day. I love it.
I mean this is the most wonderful way, so please don't take offense! Hey

To all the Met Gala designers I say; Step aside! And behold The Glorious Miss Clayton!
Yes the Fabulous Ms. Clayton. The costumes at the Met Gala were absolutely horrible, I dont know when designers went wrong, when did they decide that ugly is beautiful.
Angela, you should absolutely be invited to every Met Gala! This gown is a masterpiece!
"...and by art, I mean SPARKLE..." Angela, you should put this on a tee-shirt!
Wow. Just wow. She's stunning. The queen of hearts ain't got nothin' on you!
oh my gosh- these bows in the back are so fricking goreous! the whole dress is stunning, great design.
Angela dress up and stand beside the stars :)
YES to worn photos and wrapping up the closures, it is too pretty just to see it on the dress form.
I don't know why but I find your video very calming it's a joy to watch you make all of these outfits. Thank you for sharing.
I now require this motto on a shirt and other merch "they say dress for the job you want but also, dress for the parties you want to go to" chefs kiss👩🍳👌
Yes I totally need this on some merch too!! 🤩🤩♥️
Ooooo! I would love to see a hat for this -- with the heart net to partially cover the face. A Valentine for all time.
I don't sew, I make soap...but I love your videos. The creativity of your projects are truly art. Your narrative is always entertaining and I love the dog content!

Two videos this month! 🥳🥳🥳 love it, Thanks Angela
I just had a similar reaction.🥰🥰🥰

I agree with others in the comments, "Dress for the parties you want to go to." It is more than tshirt worthy!
This dress looks amazing, I can't wait to see the finished garment. As always I love your content. 💕
Oh my gosh ANGELA!!!! You and this gown are AMAZING. Look at the DETAILS. Charles Worth eat your heart out!
Angela you go from strength to strength. Your ability with colour, design and overall aesthetic is masterful and very relevant... Love your work 💝
Gorgeous! I'm amazed at your patience with all the intricate, microscopic details that end up adding so much to the gown!
I like the beads! While not immediately apparent at a distance, they create a nice point of interest up close and probably would catch different types of light in fascinating ways.

Loved how the mock up of bodice looked, can't wait to see this dress on you.
You are a talented, resourceful & beautiful person.
I’m exhausted….and all I did was watch you work. Wow!!! You’re amazing.
Just...ugh! SOOO beautiful!!!😍😍😍👏👏👏
Thank you so much for showing us your hard work.
It is coming along so well. 👍👏👏👏
just glad to satisfy my need to see dresses that are actually on theme!!
this dress is absolutely gorgeous! i'm blown away, i love the choice of the white&heart ruffle, it adds a certain playfulness that suits the silhouette. keep up the good work it's stunning!!
It's a dream of mine to own a dress like this in my favorite color, emerald green. 😍
If the Met Gala sees this dress, their doors will simply fly open for you! I can't wait to see it finished. Thanks for the video!
okay I *love* the ruffle trim on the bows!! The whole dress is gorgeous, but that trim especially is so pretty!
This dress construction was amazing and the patterning all done free hand!!! I can't imagine how long it took, but I am assuming it was a few months. Angela this is phenomenal as usual. Your attention to detail is remarkable
What a great use of that ruffled fabric! Gorgeous dress!
Wow Angela, what a beautiful job! i can't wait to see you wear the finished dress. You are an amazing designer and seamstress. I am in awe!
well done this looks incredible, love the idea of ruffled fabric, wish there was more of it in plain colours such as organza, would safe a ton of time when making victorian garments
This was so involved! I love how you handled some of the more tricky bits. I never would have thought to bone the sleeves. Neat idea!
It’s really beautiful. Can’t wait to see pictures when you are done.
Great job, Angela! 😲 Wow! You are so talented and brave! Brava!🤩
you have more class, talent and sweetness then anyone who went to that gala. Stay wonderful, pay them no mind.
Very beautiful!!! Be proud of what you were able to get done
It amazes me that you can create such an intricate garment and nail everything from the big picture, down to seed beads, stunning.
The dress looks absolutely fabulous well done
That is a lot of hard work. The dress is amazing. I do look forward to see you dressed in it.
Normally I don’t like bows, but the bows on the back of this dress are so lovely. They look more like elegantly draped fabric than bows. Just perfection. I wish someone had hired you to make their gown for the Met Gala you would serve Rockefeller realness.
Great idea and so pretty! Dressing or making a dress for dream events is another great idea.
This is an incredible gown, it’s so beautiful
Beautifully done. You have such a wonderful talent.
Hope my english is good enough… we love your creativity on everything you do. Yet You are very open on how you feel. It gives hope to everybody living with mental issue. Keep up your good work!
It looks like a wonderful frilly Valentine, I love it!
Hi.. I love your cat 😻
Stunning! Absolutely beautiful!
For all the creativity and work you put into this beautiful gown you should be invited to the Met Gala. It's lovely.
This dress turned out gorgeous!!😍 ghe white ruffles were the perfect addition, I agree with you. The white was to stark of a contrast between the red and the soft ruffles. I can't wait to see worn photos! When you finish the closures of course. 💜💜
This dress is great! It also suits the theme more than 98% of the dresses that were actually at the Met Gala.
This is more than worthy of the Met. Most beautiful gown. Great job. Great mind. Thank you.
Beautiful work! I how you’re always putting so much effort and gorgeous details into it!
This dress is *chef's kiss*
And I also really like the shirt you're wearing in the narration
I just looked up the Met Gala 2022 outfits, and I much prefer your design. You are amazing
It's wonderful!! Can hardly wait to see the final reveal, the work you've put in so far is absolutely brilliant!
It's gorgeous! All I could say when I saw the opening picture was "Wow, RED"!! I LOVE IT ❤️❤️❤️
This is stunning 🥺😍 I'm so tempted to make a similar dress now I really love the shape of this dress 😍😍😍 the amount of detail you are able to add is incredible, and inspiring!
It looks absolutely fabulous so far. A real triumph!
That dotted, ruffled fabric is EVERYTHING. I'm obsessed.
Hello, I love your dress, fantastic and superb. Long work but how beautiful it is. Congratulations
You say you’re bad at draping…. Honey, you’re not bad at anything. You’ve got so much talent! Good job!
.... You're turning me into a ruffle and sparkle convert. I never would have liked this if you just described it to me but this is glorious.
Looks like a walking decoration for Christmas or costume for Halloween!
Holy CROW that's gorgeous!!!
I make Christmas stockings and as always your dresses (ruffles!!) are such mood and inspiration.
I love watching your work come together. I love seeing how you add to projects slowly and how they come alive with the small (time consuming!) details. Such a beautiful dress.
This is breath taking! You are truly talented
LOVED this, so pretty!!! I love the red.
Wow! I can hardly wait to see the finished dress on you. It will be fabulous. 💃
You would have out classed most of those celebrities, Sofia! 💖
Hi! I hope you had a fun day! I spent my day in my sewing room getting a big project done and now I get to sit and watch your video while I make yarn. I hope you have a fabulous week ahead. Thank you for posting this video and sharing your positive energy.
Amazing! I love all the beading details you put on this dress.
Wow you are sooo talented!!
I am hoping for another antiquing trip with your mom!!
Well considering how many of the attendees actually understood the brief for the Met gala, you clearly have the best garment of the night
I'm only 12 mins in and I'm AMAZED!! The color and the ruffles and the flocked hearts 😍 You are so talented!!
Since the Met Gala outfits mostly were such a let down, I'm so happy seeing your take on it! Can't wait for the finished results and worn photos :)
The thumbnail made me gasp. It’s gorgeous! Now to watch the video.
Having watched the video now, and listened to you apologize for not doing more I have to say, you did so much and it is so lovely. You have nothing to apologize for. The dress is a delight and I’d love to see the finishing touches if you want to share, and I think you’ll look lovely in it.
it's magnificent!! i wish it were my size!! can't wait to see it completed and see photos of you wearing it. xoxoxoxoxoxo
It's so beautiful! Great job.
You can proudly say that you understood the assignment far better than 98% of the designers, stylists, and celebs present
Such a beautiful project! Cannot wait to see the final reveal…..side note: Obsessed with your raspberry shirt you’re wearing!
im so glad you agree on gilmore girls. i was subjected to it when my mom and siblings decided to binge the whole thing, and i couldn't escape as my old bedroom was right next to the living room and everyone in my family blasts the tv volume
that said i wanna make my own met gala costume AND a lizzo robe recreation
Visually breathtaking!
Dude this is so preeetttttyy!
I like the idea of additional bows or flowers or something to break up how linear the banding is on the skirt. I'm also super psyched to see what jewelry and accessories you end up pairing with this!
I suspect this is much better then anything that will actually be going to the gala.
I am so blown away! This is amazing! Everything you do is awesome. I cant believe you said this is “just” what ive done… its a MASSIVE bit of work, lol
