  • Learn how to make the slanted shell dishcloth. This is a fun, textured stitch that works up quickly. In this video, I show you how to even out the top of your dishcloth so it forms a nice straight edge. These dishcloths would make great housewarming gifts or would be a fun way to accessorize your kitchen. You can also use them as a washcloth as it's gentle enough on your skin.

    This is very pretty. I made your hot pad from your last tutorial & it turned out great. Im thinking of making 2 of this pattern in cotton & attaching those together to make a hot pad similar to your last tutorial. I think it would work ok. Thank you for these tutorials. 💜🧶

    That would be nice pattern to make a rug or something else but for a dish cloth, I prefer to use ones that actually have holes in it so the dirt and stuff can actually go through it not stick to it .
    but I do love the pattern 💖💖

      I’ve made a blanket using this stitch as well. It would make a pretty rug too. 🧶

    I was looking for a new dishcloth pattern to try thank you 😌 I love the shell pattern. I have a question..I am in Australia and I can't get the yarn you are using. I have an 8ply cotton which uses a 4mm hook can I still make the cloth..would I just need to add more chains to make it bigger? Thank you

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can use any cotton yarn you’d like. You may need to add some extra chains to get the same size as mine. You can also check out yarnsub.com to find similar yarns to the yarn I used. Hope that helps!

      I thought of some more pattern ideas for you. I think I've told you in the past that you should design some more spa-themed projects. I've been making a lot of soap savers lately. They're little cotton pouches that you put a bar of soap into, and you use it just like a washcloth in the shower. They're also great for when you've used your soaps down to small pieces, and you can put several inside so you don't waste your soap scrap. You should design some soap savers. I bet many people would love that. I've seen them crocheted in the round, and I prefer that method, but I have also seen desfgns where you make a rectangle, fold it, and seam up the sides and bottom. The ones I make close with a drawstring.

    Am I crocheting to tight, cause it’s turning out wonky and I’m using same as you 100% cotton and a H hook

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s possible you’re crocheting too tight. You can always trying using an I-5.5mm crochet hook instead.

    Why does my work always expand when i follow the exact stich pattern? My wash cloth started turning into a triangle after row 3... this literally always happens to me. Its why i stopped crocheting a few years back.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like you’re skipping stitches, which is causing your work to be a triangle. I recommend using stitch markers to help keep your ends straight and so you don’t miss any stitches 😊

    • @xXfireflyyXx
      @xXfireflyyXx 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AmandaCrochets thank you for replying. It actually goes opposite? It starts off really tight and then expands

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@xXfireflyyXx you’re welcome! Ah that’s your tension! So at the beginning it seems you’re making your stitches really tight and then your tension relaxes a bit as you make more rows. For this, I suggest going up a hook size for the chain and first row before switching to the hook needed for your project. This may help a little.
