When I just saw this vid, I thought it was a fake one showing how well and easy the fake grease came off the grill. So, when I tried it, I didn't really expect much, given I was dealing with probably a 6 year old exhaust mesh that hasnt been cleaned that long. ....But when I tried it just today tho, I was totally amazed how effective it was in removing the sticky thick grease on my parent's exhaust mesh! Good thing I found the vid coz I was thinking of using "Off Oven degreaser" before which wouldve been more hassle in handling given the toxic substance. Thank you for sharing this vid!

Thank you very much!!! I have been spending a whole morning on dealing my nasty range hood which is the same model as yours, but no matter what way I did, my filters were still in a greasy state, then I have came across your vid and decided to grab myself a gloves and a brush, along with my remaining baking soda. It works like a charm!

Recently, I cleaned my range hood filters using cloudy ammonia and although I was reasonably pleased with the result it wasn't really the best. I'll be trying Bicarbonate of Soda in future. Wow! How simple.

I used to do that for years, the cleaning is brilliant but I did find out the hard way that some few but important parts, like small springs in the clip release handle and a plastic frame of the clip release did not take his procedure too well. The springs started to show rusting, the plastic turned brittle, and at some point the clip holders didn‘t work and the filters had to be replaced

Worked like a charm only that the sink wasn't long enough to hold them fully soaked in so i kept changing half in and half out
but everything worked perfectly i used 4 tablespoons of baking soda mixed it well with hot water and used boiling water poured over the filters and little bit of light scrubing

Thank you for this, made my work far easier. One thing though, my drain blocked almost immediately after, with the grease, I got it sorted with a long Auger quite easily. I would suggest that to prevent that happening to you run some very hot water through the sink for a couple of minutes, maybe 3 or 4 kettles full of boiling water slowly or run some degreaser through the pipes after. Other than that great cleaning tip.

This is a very good tip, thank you. I watched several videos today and it was mentioned that washing the filters in the dishwasher (our filters are too long for the dishwasher anyway) might eventually clog up the dishwasher drains. That would be a new problem. I'll clean our filters separately and will filter the water, collect the grease to go in the bin. That's the best I can do, environmentally and for our wallet. Thanks again.
