Great illustrative video! Are you aware of the additive manufacturing (AM) simulation capabilities in Abaqus? You can use the built-in AM subroutines to model the welding process including the heat transfer step with element activation and moving heat source, and also the residual stress step which uses the nodal temperatures from the heat transfer analysis as the load. See e.g. ”Thermomechanical Analysis of Powder Bed-Type Additive Manufacturing Processes Using the Trajectory-Based Method” in Abaqus manual. There is also a plug-in named AM Modeler available for setting up the simulation, but I prefer to add these features into the input files directly.
Hi, thanks for letting me know, I simulated additive manufacturing before with roughly the same method, but I was not aware of the example in the abaqus manual. Thanks again!
Nice videos 👏 I will appreciate if you can make shearing analysis of pin in Abaqus. According to the shearing stress formula: Shearing Stress =Force/Section Area

Good job

Sure I will do that! Thanks for the suggestion!

Is it possible to make a tutorial for element birth and death with subroutine
@@Academic360 yeah sure it’s on the card! But only the load would be different everything else would be the same!
