Kratos had no issue with him, thus, no need to violence or anger. Its a really small thing that ties into his later development in GoW4 in a really logical way. I love both of them. Old Kratos makes you feel like a ruthless badass god killer and new Kratos makes you feel like a dad badass god killer. Both are very good

And Hercules is a roman hero while Herakles is obviously the OG Greek one. You might argue that it's the same difference, but to me it's disappointing that the name form of a roman rip-off is used over the actual greek one. It's like calling Zeus Jupiter in a greek story.

Good god their are so many lines you can quote from, so many moments that stick in your head and never leave you. Undoubtedly one of my favorite kills in the God Of War saga! It's actually tied for first place with Hermes and Helios (those kills were just soooooooo satisfying for me)!
I don't know why but the old god of war games gameplay felt a lot more satisfying with the camera showing the whole arena and swipes of blades glowing with blood spilling all over. The new god of war reboot didn't give me that vibe. I replayed gow3 dozens of times. One of the best experiences in video game history.
This goes even deeper in that in Spartan Culture, most Spartan Kings were said to be able to trace their lineages back to Hercules and he was worshipped by the soldiers much like Ares.
