I just want to say that I completely understand why it was so hard for Joey to be a i Eric come out to his family and friends. I to am gay and found it really hard to come out because I didn’t know if all of my guy friends would be worried out or if they thought that I was going to like every boy in my year group but that wasn’t the case. I just didn’t look at girls on that was but that doesn’t mean that I look at every boy and say oooo he’s fit or I like him because it wasn’t like that. I just looked at boys that I fancied in that way if you know what I mean. I first came out to my family then friends and then it got spread around my whole school so I didn’t need to worry about telling anyone else. What I am trying to say is that it isn’t always that easy to come out to people because for about 6-7 months I would come home crying my eyes out because I was so upset about all the bullying. It was just really hard and know how hard it was for kory to be open about it which I respect him for so much. Sorry for the million word essay. I just really wanted to explain how hard it can be for some people to come out especially when you don’t think that you can trust anyone. Love you kory and love Colleen for being so supportive of him. Your amazing, fabulous and will always be my inspiration. By for now. ❤️

All I wanted to do, is give them hugs and cuddles, and tell them I accepted them. The fact that I needed to say that... to say that I don't think of them any less... i know this was posted long time ago but i feel like it needs to be said, i'm also out to everyone in my school but not my parents since when i came out as bi they told me i'm confused, they didn't raise me like this, they think it's a phase they said i know i don't like girls that way.... i came out at December 2019 as gay then, this January i fell in love with this girl who happened to be my last years crush, she still isn't out and hearing this story broke my heart, being with a closet gf is hard at times but it's never ever OK to tell everyone that she or even he is not straight, i would never ever do that to anyone and especially my gf.. yes there will be struggles at times but telling everyone without their acknowledgement is just horrible, just like how we all were in closet, it's scary, so plz respect them

i agree! we all have a purpose here and we're all created with intention, we would never be created purely to go to hell or to be hated. no sins are more powerful than others, the same way people can believe confessing to and apologizing for your sins excuses you they can believe the lgbt community isn't so bad. we are all loved, and we should all be treated as such regardless who we love, what we look like, or what we believe in.
Same goes here. For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Without Jesus's love, grace and mercy, none of us would have the chance to go to heaven. It's not what you do in your life, good or bad that gets you to heaven or hell, its trusting in the Lord and believing in him. It's letting him lead your life and strive to be more like our creator. Personally, I'm an atheist, but i have gone to like bible school and stuff like that. I know how they talk about people who sin, and i know a lot of (usually old-fashioned people) think of gay people as a part of that. I love meeting religious people that believe in something that's had something against the LGBTQ community and are still allies or even part of the community because i think that's the real reason for religion. I don't think it's to make you feel loved or important or the stuff other atheists say it's for, I truly believe religion is a beautiful thing when used to bring people together, and boy is it a breath of fresh air.

That happened to me yesterday when I got a terrible part in a play and it was embarrassing and I told my friend who was also in the play, then the next day there was a girl who wasn’t in the play asking what part I got but I didn’t want her to know so I told my friend not to tell her she said she wouldn’t then a minute later she told her and she was making fun of me then the person who I said not to say anything to, told 3 more people and I saw them making fun of me

Yess this is the exact reason I refrained from coming out for so long because i didn’t want it to be a ‘thing’ lol I just wanted everyone to know without having to tell them especially my parents and some of my closest friends I still haven’t told most people because I don’t want to have to have that conversation. When I told the couple people that know it was the most stressful thing ever not knowing if they would still love me the way they did before and I’m so lucky they both support me but ik there will come people that won’t and that is so scary that one day I will have to tell them. Sorry that was my little rant lol :)

As a Christian, you don't have to support LGBT because it's considered a sin. But you can still love the person, and care for him. Many people don't understand the difference. It is not required to support LGBT in today's world, because God doesn't support it. If God doesn't support it, you don't have to. But God still loves the person. So, Christians should do the same. You should love everybody, without supporting their sin.

I'm a mom of two adult children, whose 22-year-old son came out to me and told me that he's bisexual. I couldn't be more proud of him, and blessed to know that he knew he could come to me for anything, and I'd love him no matter what. (As if I could ever NOT love him.) But you are so right. I AM an open-minded mom who loves her children... period. So my children know they could tell me anything. But as I watch your story, my heart is so broken for you, and I just want to give you a hug and tell you that, even though you aren't MY son, as I sit here and watch this, I am very proud of YOU! I am so sorry that your coming out was so difficult, and that all of those close-minded people turned on you like that. But honey, they don't deserve you. I personally just messaged my mom, but if you have to do it in person, I recommend you just sit them down and tell them. Yes, it is 100% okay if you cry, because that's exactly what I did. Although, *IF YOU KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING OF THE COMMUNITY, DON'T COME OUT TO THEM.* once my friend came out to his homophobic family and now he's been living with me for a couple months because they kicked him out.
Your safety is more important than coming out, and if you are still really scared, tell a close friend about your sexuality if they dont already know, and invite them over to tell your parents, just in case things go wrong.
Also, if it _does_ go badly, a friend will probably be more than willing to let you stay with them until your parents finally apologize or accept you.
I recommend you watch this video by this epic gay youtuber, MacDoesIt. It's called "Dear homophobic parents" it's funny for the first few minutes, but towards the end he does give some great advice.

My brother is gay and he used to get made fun of for "talking like a girl" or "looking like a girl" and he used to cry all the time. My mom already knew he was gay but she would cry cause she would feel so bad for him. And there is nothing wrong with being gay. It's better to live your life loving who your with then hating your life because u can't be with someone you love.I know that coming out is hard but it does get better. if your friends don't like you for being gay then they aren't your real friends. All I have to say is love who you love and don't care what anyone thinks, people should love you for you.

i really relate to kory. as an lgbtq kid, i grew up in a homophobic atmosphere, and it was incredibly mentally damaging for me. i felt trapped and i was pretty much unable to come out of the closet at all because of all the hatred for the lgbtq community that i saw around me. because of that past, i'm still too scared to come out of the closet, even when i am now surrounded by a much more accepting atmosphere. in my university, i see people walking around proudly with gay pride pins on their bags. i see proud, openly trans students everywhere. but i'm still too afraid to come out.

personally i am not homosexual but for the weirdest reason i really connected with this video. i cried for every second of it. i’m so mad with the society that we live in and i think it’s incredible that Colleen and Kory (and all their friends and family) advocate for the people that need it so much. no one should feel less for their sexual orientation and it truly breaks my heart that there are people that can’t be true to themselves or the people they love. what kind of a society do we live in where people can’t just be excepted for who they are.

I remember when my best friend told me i was literally bursting in tears because he thought he was going to hell. I was hugging him and telling him that i will never leave you im will always be with you no matter what happens, he told me that his other friends told him to go away that he needs to find Jesus when i heard thati felt like crying even more. I told him that we are going to my house and talk about it while we had fun. He told our other friends and they rushed over to my place to hug him we were all crying and we decided to represent LGBQ the next day, people were looking at us like we were crazy but that didn't stop us. His parents were so happy to find out, all of our parents supported him no matter what. Till this day we are all best friends. I don't understand how you say you are very religious and Christian but you choose to believe that being gay is completely fine. If your Christian then you know that's not true. The bible is god's word. And he states what he thinks of gays very clearly.. you can not pick and choose what you do and don't believe when it comes to the bible.

There are a lot more forbidden things mentioned in the Old Testament where no Christian ever practises but I doubt I have to mention it to you since you clearly know your bible. God clearly states that a man should not lie with a man as with a woman but if you know the bible at all, you can't blindly apply everything you read. Reproduction was a major issue in the olden days and it could've been a restriction to people so as to keep on reproducing. We don't know exactly if God actually forbids homosexuality because it is a sin or because of situational reasons. I'm a gay Roman Catholic Christian and I don't agree with you. If you were born gay you'd understand why. We gays don't decide to be gays just like you heteros don't decide to be straight. All things come from God and there must be a reason as to why He creates gay humans. Even if you don't agree, be respectful to other people because Jesus taught us to love one another and if Jesus befriended sinners instead of those hypocritical "religious" people, why don't you? And I'm not even implying that being gay makes you a greater sinner than everyone else. It probably isn't even a sin to begin with.

As a gay Christian, you have no guidance and most people who come out and do all that simply leave and stop believing in God because of the horrific things other Christians say, do, and to watch this for me is heartbreaking. Its one of those things that you literally have no idea until you've been there, done that. The saddest thing is that Jesus would react very very different compared to all those people who reacted so negatively towards him. I wish everyone knew that gay people are literally born this way. It’s not a choice. The pain they go through with society and even family is so sad. With so much communication in our world now, we all know there are many gay people and thankfully many come out on tv or video. The relief one must feel after keeping their secret for so many years must feel like a ton of bricks off their back when they open up to friends.
Actually, there is some evidence that its not 100% genetic and there can be some environmental things in early life (mind you genetics is not simple either, so many effects from epigenetics and hormone levels around and so on). Being a choice or not shouldn't mean its ok to discriminate, either way. There's no evidence attraction to any particular person is a choice, although you can deny and ignore it to yourself and just feel awkward, and have the option not to do anything about it, which is harmful in the long term if you always try to do that. But there's not enough evidence to say its all from genes and that level of biology. I think all the laws in place where LGBT+ people are protected don't rely on not-a-choice that as the reasoning (heard that it is irrelevant for at least some).

There's nothing wrong with being gay, lesbian, or bi. No one should treat you worse than they treat others, it's your life, not theirs. People that judge others makes me sick. A few of my friends told me they were either lesbian or bi, and I was the only one that stayed by their side. I was the only one that supported them. I was the only one that didn't bully anyone. It makes me so sad to see people who aren't straight get bullied/get hurt. It's okay if you're not straight. I know it's hard to come out, but people NEED to change😢. It's not fair that they act like it's the end of the world, it's not fair that they treat you differently after you tell your family, friends, or whoever you go to school with. At least you show you're brave enough to tell people you're gay. I'm so proud of you!!
