Nitori's theme. ...Some people think that her arrogant personality in Hopeless Masquerade was an unfair retcon of her shy nature in Mountain of Faith. But I think she always had this streak in her. A geek like her is genuinely timid but also very full of herself at the same time. Truly a camouflage artist, she may change her attitude depending on the situation.
That said, the definition of honest or "candid" requires a lot of flexibility, as this song is full of blatant yet tricky double meanings. "Leave me a bit behind" will forever be my favorite. I hope you can see both sides of her.

Well, after all Kappas kidnap children, they eat their Shirikodama (A ball inside the anus) and blood, Gensokyo aren't different but they use machines to do it (Seen in Wild and Hornet Hermit, you see Nitori saying that with salt they wouldn't need to worry about *those* balls and the blood)

This is wonderful,it expressed Nitori's nature so well, while leaving so much to imagine what she means. The lyrics strikes me because she has that elegance but still has that shy outlook. That in particular catches my ears and makes the lyrics truly stick out.May I request that you make Sumireko's theme? I think it would be quite a fun challenge.
If I didn't know how early that line was written, I would surely think the "goes up in steam" part is an intentional reference to a game that features Nitori as a playable character (AoCF) literally, you know, going up in Steam ;)

I worked out at least four meanings including the one you mentioned from that line; Nitori says you can: 'leave me in your wake', 'leave something off with me' (money, materials), and... 'bite my ass'

It is weird how people fail to see their moeblob Nitori is not as adorable as they thought.
Nitori used her cute and meek appearance to her advantage and kept claiming kappa as friends of humans. In Touhou Subtereanean Animism if you play as Marisa and choose Nitori as your partner, Nitori shows her true color as a bitchy and rude person who belittle others, yet too afraid to say it in their face..
That's kind of a central theme in Touhou: Everything can be seen from multiple perspectives, and people are always more complex than they appear -- they may even harbour opposing traits without any at all contradiction -- but you often only see one side of them. Hence the same person can be both good and evil, an idiot and a genius, a shy introvert and an utter asshole, an immuture child and an wizened elder, a lazy bum and a diligent hard worker, or a shameless mythomaniac and the single most outspokenly honest person you can find... even a place can be both heaven and hell at the same time.

How many times does it take for you to get the perfect tone and rhythm of the song? Do you use separate video recordings and then combine them all into one or is it all in one go?
I'm in choir and it usually takes about a week or so to get down a song with it's rhythm. but it takes a while to hit every single note correctly.
Yes, that's exactly what I do. Although I do have the advantage of preexisting familiarity with most Touhou themes, and in my obsession it's no burden to listen and practice them on loop over and over to get even more familiar... it is still very hard for me to sing them as on-point as I want to, and that's a big reason it takes me a long time to finish them, and still not perfect in the end. It makes me feel a bit better knowing that it's common even for choir singers to not be able to instantly sing things in one take. At the same time, I admire you for that position; despite my name, I really don't think I could sing "live" at all!

Also, another question. How do you come up with these lyrics? Do you just perhaps make them up at the top of your head based on the character and/or name of the Theme Song? or perhaps just based on the character's inspiration made by ZUN himself?
It's definitely not off the top of my head, but yeah, those are exactly the main specific things I try to bring together when writing them: the canon details about the character's story/personality, the legend that inspired them (less important than the context of Touhou itself, but fun to reference), and how to interpret the song's title to bring it together as a cohesive idea. ^^ I do a lot of thinking and researching about the character, in the games and on the wiki, for motifs to use. And I write it bit by bit while listening to song many times.
Also, I can't deny the ideas I choose to emphasize are often influenced by own priorities or values. For example, Byakuren's phrasings drew a lot by my personal feelings about cosmopolitanism and against social categories. The Sealing Club duets often reference or reflect something personal between me and my partner. And I wrote parts of Nitori's theme with my own attitude in mind, because I can relate to being a shy geek who watches people from afar. Finding the common ground between expressing myself and honoring a character is something that's really rewarding about the hobby. ;v;
Well, what you got is a good hobby! I enjoy every song you created thus far! Especially the one you have done with Tenshi's theme. Specifically, "Bhava-agra As Seen Through a Child's Mind". The way how you sing in that song which each Tone and Energy put into it, nonetheless of how catchy the song is, i can't help but find myself singing it time and time again. So much so that i try to create a Male Version (Which to me is Bass like how i am in choir) of the theme entirely. Singing how every note should feel with a Male's voice as a Confident and Collected tone while still having the energy that is similar to the energetic bored child that Tenshi is. But of course, a guy named "MarioSonicGamer" has already made his version of your theme, as both are really fun to listen and sing to.
So keep up the good work, Lyrica Live! I really do enjoy each song that you have made. I will be waiting patiently for the next! C:

Yes, I do my own writing, recording, mixing, and videomaking -- except of course I don't make the original instrumental music or the character art, which are taken from official Touhou material.
Um, I used to write (not very good) poetry when I was younger. It was mostly silly stuff inspired by the likes of Shel Silverstein, sentimental greeting-card fare, or amateurishly experimenting with any new forms I learned about in school like sonnets. Nothing very deep or worth reproducing... I feel like it was all practice for gradually transitioning into writing lyrics. I don't really do any non-musical poetry anymore, nor do I write original things that aren't at least tangentially fandom-inspired, because that's really what I care about. I sometimes do write lyrics besides these Touhou ones, like adaptations of anime music.
And... it's not an impossibility, but sorry I don't have that planned anytime soon! I have a LOT of other WIPs.~

Hmm... That mention of camouflage... The files on Sting Chameleon stated he was able to vanish completely and blend into his surroundings. Could that little girl have an ability similar to him?
That line, "Someday will you see through my guise, my camouflage?", is a bit of a dual reference: Nitori uses highly technologically advanced optical camouflage that she made herself to stay invisible when she doesn't want to be seen... but she also employs a form of "social camouflage", presenting herself as a shy, humble and polite friend of the people she meets while in actuality being a greedy, arrogant, insufferable biatch (and possible serial killer) who uses people for her own gain.
