Depression and trauma makes sleep an enemy, and poor sleep makes the trauma worse. It seems like a hopeless cycle. Nonetheless I'm still trying because there's no other way than forward.
Just recently bought a 10kg weighted blanket despite being dubious about them in the past. And wow what a game changer. I can actually feel the endorphins filling my body as I lie under it. It feels just like a big loving protective hug from your mother when you're little.
Are they hot though? One of my big issues is having a cool room when I sleep (my apartment is always warm, I run my AC even in February and I live in Canada). Being cool is one of the big factors to getting a good sleep.
Thank you for the info and ideas! Some studies suggest that light can interrupt your melatonin, so we use red flashlights if we need to get up in the night to not disrupt that and thereby counter the good that melatonin does either by pill or natural production.

(SEE MY REVIEW IN THE REPLY BELOW) Thank you so much for this topic! I immediately ordered the Nasalaid, because so many nights I would be congested and I thought I wish there was something that could keep my nose open! I knew if I could keep my nose tipped up slightly, it made a huge difference in the amount of air that would pass through. I rarely buy gadgets or pills, but this looks like a winner for me! 😴😴😴
As a follow up to my original post. This little device is wonderful. I definitely get more airflow through the nostrils. In fact, the more congested I am, the bigger difference it makes. My sleep doctor told me after about 5 hours of sleep, my breathing passages narrow thus interrupting my sleep cycle and a CPAP was ordered. However, with Nasil aid I have been getting 7 or 8 hours uninterrupted. 5 stars!

I have a green Shanti mat that looks just like your grey one and I love it!! It helps me with both backpain and neck aches from being on my computer for too long and it calms me down when I’m stressed. 🧘🏻♀️🕉
This video came at the perfect time for me!! I’ve been trying to sort out why I keep sleeping through my alarms as it’s quite concerning. Maybe it’s to do with stress or iron, I’m not sure
I’ve experimented with a number of different products to help me sleep. Weighted blankets are great so long as you get a cool cover like one made out of bamboo. Though, they’re meant for sleeping on your back in my opinion. And, I’ve used a massage gun to help alleviate anxiety-induced muscle tension in my back, neck, shoulder, and forearm muscles. Other products I’ve used are wireless sleephones, an essential oil diffuser, and a white noise machine. I’ve had the best results with products that focus on physical stimulation like the first two products I mentioned. And I think that acupuncture mat might help a lot as well. And I’m wondering if a massage mat would be worth looking into also. Lastly, one of the videos you made about forcing yourself to think positive thoughts, like making a list of things in your life that you’re grateful for, has really helped as well.
I swear by ear plugs, I love them. Also, I wish I could use one of those sleep monitoring phone apps, every time I try one I seem to get so anxious about it measuring my sleep that I can’t actually get to sleep 😵💫
The one issue I had with the manta mask, and other masks like it, is that it puts a slight pressure on your sinuses due to where I have to have the pads. Sensitive sinuses run in my family so I can't have anything pressing on my cheeks or forehead or I get motion sickness. I did love this mask since it put no pressure on my eyes, and it was super comfy for a side-sleeper.
Comment: if you're a side sleeper, try the Manta mask specifically for side sleepers. I ordered the original before realizing they had a specific mask for side sleepers and it's NOT 100% light blocking, no matter where I position the eye cups. Plus the big eye cups make it kind of wonky feeling when I sleep on my (preferred) left side. I ended up getting a different sleep mask for $15 online that works better for me. Question: does anyone know if you already wear glasses, is there a good blue blocker clip on that I can get? Thank you!
ugh, I could have used this 8 hours ago lol. The mask and the mat look interesting. I may look into those. I started using melatonin, but found if I didn't fall asleep within 20 mins or so, I would get a really bad headache. So I switched to valerian root and have had better results
Manta mask is great, especially if you have a big nose like me! I've used one for years now. My partner lovers her Shakti mat and it really helps her fall asleep but doesnt work for me.
I use a Manta sleep mask and it works good. I will have to check out the nose things because I use the Walmart brand nose strips most nights and they are 6 dollars a box. Something that can last a long time might be a better deal over time. Update: nose things are quite expensive. Probably stick to equate nose strips.
Great video! Melatonin doesn’t do much for me. But a sleep mask every night is a game changer! That pillow looks cool! Thank you for your hard work and amazing content!!!
One of the way you can sleep better, don't over sleep anotherword don't go to bed too early and wake up late, stay in a 6 to 7 hours of deep sleep and set your alarm to go off little early to exit deep sleep and then you can sleep every night, I've learned how to budget my sleep.

Good point about the melatonin. Almost all of the products are WAY over-dosed. Less is more! Ideally you should take 0.5 mg or less about 4 hours before your desired bedtime. PS. the manta mask link you have is wrong in the description. it's "mantasleep" not "manta".
