Ivan Dutton is fascinating, engaging, inventive and laden with charisma. He is everything the classic car world needs, and a walking example of everything good about it. He's now, as you may well know, taking over TH-cam with his own channel, despite the fact he's in his 80s. We went to visit Ivan to find out more about his journey, his cars and his plans for what sounds like a very exciting future.

Ivan reminds a lot of Allen Millyard. Humility, enthusiasm, intelligence and engineering wisdom. Their willingness to explore and innovate, and showing respect to the originals, without getting too hung up on the 'purity' aspect, is very refreshing.
Ivan is just a 30 year old with 50 years experience. What a ball of energy and an encyclopedic knowledge.
Ivan is a true treasure (and a character) and he seems to have known everyone who was anyone, back in the day. And he still does. He deserves to be seen, heard and remembered. And his under-viewed channel is brilliant.
I met Ivan in the ‘70’’s, and he was quite a character then! A national treasure!!!
I hope this chap has under studies, who have under studies, because this type of knowledge, needs to be kept.

I’ve been following Ivan on TH-cam for several years now and I have marcelled at his fabrication skills and his builds. I would hope that Ivan would have a in depth biography of his life done. He is an amazing person and his ability to still get out there and flog these cars is a testimony to his zeal. He reminds me a great deal of my late grandfather and his own fascinating live. I was thankful that he had written down his memoirs and also audio personal history. Once these people pass on we will have little to no connection to the histories they were a part of. Thank you for this interview and I’m looking forward to the second part

I can remenberr a racer called Lanfranchi racing at Ouston Nothumberland in about 1963.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called "Abgasbespaßungsverbots- und Kontrollverordnung" in German.)
