How to waterproof RC Car/Truck electronics. WPL B14 kit, AUSTARHOBBY AX7-S combo. Run Time!

  • Here is my brought back to life with more mods B14 Max Beast! As I now call it. The 3d printed parts are all from thingiverse I just searched WPL. Tons of parts available to print. This truck may be a little overweight for this system being a Fullmetal kit and having wheel weights.
    3
    I didn't realize and it never clicked in my head to look at what rates I was In on the 3 position dual rate. So this whole run I was in the middle setting number 2. Knowing that I have to give it another run with a range test, water test and maybe another hill climb.

      i was just tapping the board with a allen key tool that I dip in plastidip and jusy dab it on until the board is covered. So I dont actually spray it on. You can also buy the dipable plastidip can to directly dunk your components in and lets dry.

      I just use basic silicone glue, they will brand it differently saying it's for shoes or cars or electrics or whatever but look at the back and its all the same. Works well but requires lots to fully waterproof it but it's very idiot safe. More alike resin than anything but much safer and fool proof

    Hi mate. I'm new to RC and looking at buying my first crawler for my 4 and 6 year olds, and I. I wasn't even looking at the B14 until I saw yours with that tray .... where did you get it? Are those wheels just the rims and V1 tyres off the WPL website? Is it raised?.... looks like leaf springs on the back. Maybe you can direct me to a video with all the mods .... I think I'm going to enjoy building, breaking, then rebuilding RCs with my kiddies. Thanks, that looks pretty cool :-)

    do you think waterproofing the on-off switch would help? Anyways, I appreciate your work brother!

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never done that to any of mine. Had some switches get stuck and rusted but I just cut the switch off and join the 2 wires and just plug and unplug the batt to turn it on and off.

  • @Hjerte_Verke
    @Hjerte_Verke 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A much needed rehash of your other famous waterproofing videos, but with more detail and "how-to".
    Do you no longer recommend sealing the seams on the servo cases and where the servo wire enters the case?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed even if I sealed the seams water still made it in sometimes. So I figured I'd try just the board and thats been working for me as well. Plus side the servo will drain whatever made it in a lot easier too. Still have rigs running on both methods.

    Hi man, just bought a while bunch of new electronics for my scaler which i soent like $1000 on just for the body as its fully 3d printed and custom made by the guys at mfab and its looks amazing. I keep on doing shitty jobs at waterproofing with silcone and its just dies. So i bought even more escs and receivers with olastidip and i was wondering how rekiable its been? Im looking for something where it can be fully submerged and reliably still not die. Cheers

    • @RunThatRC
