    HI. Thanks for another great video with good explanation. I do like that you give alternatives for someone who finds the exercises awkward or difficult. I had an operation on my left shoulder in Feb 2019 for frozen shoulder (I'm 63 years old). So it's nearly two years ago. The surgeon did state that my recovery would be 18 months to two years. I find the only issue I have now is that left side still quite stiff when exercising my arms at chest level. Do you have any extra tips I could use to help gain more mobility and strength there please?

  • @ruipatraquim

    Great tips! Tried it today as pre and post workout and really help my leg with a tendency to be more problematic (some plantar fasciitis infections from time to time), by the way, I used my trusted baseball ball instead of lacrosse ball. Again thank you for your videos! It’s always a pleasure to follow them 😊! Stay safe!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been told I need knee replacement surgery on both knees. But the Dr is trying to hold off on doing the surgery because of my age. I needed exercises to strengthen the muscles in my lower body. Because honestly I'm in pain all of the time from my back (from degenerative discs, a disc out of place and arthritis) to my butt from the disc resting on the nerves (I'm gonna try and spell this word correctly but I think it "piriformis" or it sounds like what I just spelled) to my whole left leg from sciatica to both knees (which make a cracking sound even when I sit down) to my ankles. I wasn't sure why there was pain in my ankles. It just felt like they didn't want to be left out of the list of things that hurt. But I've been told it's from walking differently while in pain. If that makes sense. So now I look for any exercises that will strengthen everything from my core on down. I do have a question though. The podiatrist that I was sent to gave me exercises to do for my ankles. One of them seems easy enough. It's basically just sitting with your knees touching the ground and your butt resting on the heels of your feet. I think it's spelled "seiza". It is irritating me that I can't do that one thing. I've been flexible my whole life. Is there no modification for that? Or a piece of foam that they sell to rest your knees on? If for some reason you don't have the answer I'll understand. I spend way too much time being irritated when my body can't do something that it used to do. I may need to work on that. Lol. Btw, the dog is a cutie. What type of dog is the new dog? Is it the same kind as Kiwi?

      But video of the actions we supposed to do not clear at all. Background space is overly enhanced instead of the workout. Instructions should be well spaced as we are all learning stage and we would enjoy more if we catch up easily rather than guess, trial and error

    If you do have knee pain you should probably not do these drills to be honest. Working on a sore knee never cured it, probably gonna get worse.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is a horrible attitude, honestly. It's what leads to people feeling like they can't do things they really should be able to do. Movement is medicine when done intentionally. If you don't correct the underlying movement compensations and imbalances it will never get better, especially since most of us create overload and issues from our daily postures. If you aren't sure what is going on, or the culprit of your pain, see someone. But resting or avoiding movement is NOT the answer.

    • @blockmasterscott
      @blockmasterscott 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redefiningstrengthOC As someone with arthritis, I can testify to this. Working out helps my arthritis immensely. Sometimes I'll start feeling good, and I'll get lazy and skip the gym for like 3 days, and I start getting stiff and slow again.
      No, working on your problem areas is definitely the way to go. Especially with a man like me in his 50s, I have to keep exercising.
