There's a lot of people like this and it's crazy because I think or I hope once society pops into their life cuz it seem like they're dumbfounded and blankly and really be thinking that they are the ones doing stuff right Good thing with social media now cuz they can see the way you've been living and how you think is way off and it's a no-no especially with this one

Lmbao ''Hey'' bro yeah you right that's what it means filthy rich she will use a cloth to wipe the table but won't use it to wipe that dirty tail wow wee wow wee umm,umm,umm....
Yes, I use washcloths! One for the face, one for the body. Not only do they help clean, they help exfoliate the skin. I can't think of bathing without them!
White woman here, oldish, not poor/not rich. I ALWAYS USE A WASHCLOTH! I’m astonished anyone would try to imply a class distinction over this. WHO DOESNT USE A WASHCLOTH? For pity’s sake…!
Majority white folks don’t use wash clothes I seen a whole thing on this of white people admitting they don’t. Some don’t even use soap and just let the water hit them and think that’s clean 😅🤷🏽♂️
Oddly enough a lot of white ppl don’t. If you’re so astonished just look it up on TH-cam, you guys glorify that and not brushing your tongue. I also learned in nursing older white ppl don’t wipe their asses either after using the toilet.
That's what my grandmother called them. Tater, tomater, and her father was a traveling school teacher in the late 1800's to early 1900's. She was born in 1905 and passed in 1993. miss my grandma.
White lady here. We used washcloths as a kid. I switched to the mesh scrubby thing until I learned that if you don't bleach or switch it weekly, then you are applying a ton of unhealthy bacteria. Went back to washcloths immediately. That was over 20 years ago. I love having a fresh one every day
It's the same with washcloths. You should use white washcloths & towels that you can bleach. Most people don't know that skin & bacteria get caught in the fibers, and it's very difficult to get it out of items that you can't bleach. I didn't know this until about 15 hrs ago when I read it on the CDC website. But yes, to washcloths. I faithfully use the African loofah (net material), too. I have a bunch of them, so tossing them in the wash is not a problem. I love using them for exfoliating and blood circulation.
You use a cloth to clean your kitchen, your car, your bathroom, your desk at work.....pretty much everything. How some people think you don't need one to clean yourself is beyond me.
@@amygresl3691yes ma'am, that's the best way to blast all the oils, sweat, and XYZ off is with detachable shower head but even if you don't have that option - 💯 washcloth! Maybe they don't understand the concept of using it once and then washing in the machine 🤷🏻♀️..that may be the ideology behind it that they don't understand and the more I think about it the more it sounds like people I know who think a bar of soap 🧼 is self sanitizing. Spoiled ignorance? 🤷🏻♀️ Sounds about right 😆 oh well, F 'em let them get their UTI and yeast infections and then wonder how it happened! 😂
I use what I just call a rag to clean all that stuff. Washcloth is for the body, only. Wouldn't want to wash myself with a rag that I've cleaned something else with.
@@Shaddowbanned215 some people use the word "rag" to mean old torn up t shirt or something, used to clean the floor or bathroom etc. But I know people from certain parts of the country that say "wash rag" which is the same as a "wash cloth". It's just the vernacular of that geographical area. It doesn't mean it's also used to wipe the table.
I will always use a washcloth for my body as long as I am able. I did private duty home health care. I can't imagine not using a cloth of some kind to properly clean 🫧 my clients body.
You haven't lost your mind. I use washcloths everyday. As a woman, I was taught to use a washcloth at an early age. My parents and grandparents didn't play about hygiene or education.
You can do it both ways. If you are really dirty better usa the washcloth. But if you are only taking a shower the third time that day, no need for washcloth.
Right. I use a new terrycloth washcloth everyday (not the same 1) for my body and a separate one for just my face (microfiber). I also use white rags just to see the dirt come off and be sure I’m clean.
We grew up using washcloths. I also like when they are older and have gotten thin. Actually, i have a routine: 1 washcloth for my face, 1 for private parts, and 1 loofah to scrub the rest of my body. That's the way it is, and I feel very clean.
I agree - I have these rough washcloths that get all the dry dead skin - exfoliate- off my body. The friend needs to know when she ages, exfoliating is a must or her skin will look awful. 🤷🏼♀️
White lady here. White wash cloths don't lie. They are a MUST. Also, long handle scrub brushes are the best. Dr.Bronners peppermint and tea tree soap. Game changers.
Man, let me tell you. 1. I was babysitting my "step grandson" (his mom is Venezuelan) and when it was time to bathe him I'm looking up down and to the next century for a washcloth. I finally asked him where is his washcloth and he says he doesn't have one🤨 Like how am I supposed to wash his little man parts and butt with no cloth? I kindly put that soap on HIS hand and told him to handle his business. 2. I tried the no washcloth thing for like three days and felt absolutely disgusting. I'm not saying it's wrong but when you grew up using them it feels off and nasty to not use one. Some people may argue bacterial issue with rags but idk. I needz mine.
@queenroyalty7550 There's no bacteria issue when you're supposed to be changing them every day. If you couldn't find a washcloth to bathe the child with why didn't you improvise with some old clothing rags to make your own?
They say that even after washing them there is still bacteria (ecoli = fecal matter) left on them. Still, I think I'll continue taking my chances with them. 🤷🏾♀️🤭
Yes,I use some wash cloth for my face and other for my body.I can massage my skin and remove the death cells. I think it´s not about neither wealthy nor poverty. It is just personal clean preferences. @HelenaPaschal
I use 3 wash clothes 1 for face, 1 for body & separate one for feet.when I use the shower puff I only use for body don’t use it between legs or on feet
As a white woman I use washcloths and everyone in my family uses them, but I know people who don’t. Now the reason I think she said a poor person thing is because people started using those loofahs and it was like you had to buy a new one multiple times a year. And I think that some people believe that soap has enough chemicals to strip the dirt and grime off but they aren’t thinking about the skin cells and everything else. Washcloths are the way to go. And the cheaper they are the better they work. Those soft ones don’t do squat compared to a good cheap wash rag lol
Same here. I didn't always use washcloths in the shower, but now I do and I can't imagine going back to using one of those plastic puffs. Washcloths are so much more sanitary!
I am a 66 y.o. white woman. As far back as l remember, my entire family uses wash cloths. The rich ones, poor ones, white ones, mixed ones. We start using them on babies. That woman was wrong, wrong, wrong.
Yes, I use a washcloths! As a matter of fact the only washcloths I use are handmade knitted or crocheted washcloths. They are so beautiful and feel so luxurious. They scrub your body so well that after I use a homemade washcloth, my body tingles and feels so soft. I rub lotion all over my body to keep that soft feeling.
I use multiple wash cloths to clean my body. About 60 years ago, a doctor told me grandmother to use one wash cloth for the face and a separate cloth for the body. He never said don't use wash cloths. The use of a wash cloth is NOT a poor people thing, it's a hygiene thing.
South African here. You telling me there are people that don't use washcloths?? How do you clean the delicate places without one? She said eww to using a washcloth? I say eww to NOT using one! I know some poor people and some very rich people, and let me tell you, EVERYBODY uses a washcloth.
So true. I'm poor, my grandmother was rich. I use washcloths. So did she her entire life. She just used much thicker and nicer ones than me. 😂 I shop at Walmart for my washcloths. She hated that store.
❤ Actually, if you use a wash cloth, it takes off the dead skin cells so that you can regenerate new fresh skinsell's and join that process.Your skin looks nice and soft and the dead skin cells will come out of the creases.Or wrinkles
They way grandma taught me: One washcloth per shower. Shampoo and rinse hair. Condition hair and leave in. Wash face, ears and neck. Rinse hair, face, ears and neck. Wash arms, hands, chest, stomach, upper and lower back. Wash private area. Wash upper and lower legs then feet. Wash rear-end. Btw. We was poor and she hand washed our cloths for many years. Fed us mostly from the garden and had a stock pile of food she jarred. She raised her five sons and two daughters and myself on very little income. We'll, they all helped raise me but grandma was the foundation and strength of the family. Strongest woman I've ever met.
Not just a washcloth, but a MICROFIBER washcloth scrubs and exfoliates excellently. I do constant garden and yardwork and realize those thick plush ones just don't cut it for me.
And that's why we as black folks age gracefully, in my opinion. Cause a washcloth exfoliates and removes not only dirt, grime and oils. But also the dead skin that sheds.
And that's why we the poor white folks age gracefully as well. Not because of genes or the certain country our ancestors came from no no. But because of a washcloth, it exfoliates, removes the dead and dirty skin which turned brown from a hard days work out in the fields. Here's to washclothes, why else were they invented.
I think thats where a lot of the unclean folks get confused. They think a washcloth is used like a bath pouf where you hang it to dry and use it again. No maam! Its one and done
I use one for every day of the week. cuz reusing can cause skin irritation. But washcloths are great for exfoliating the skin and allows you to be more vigorous which is good for the lymphatic system.
Proud white washcloth user!! I also crochet my own washcloths, for my family, from 100% cotton yarn. No, you haven't lost your mind. It's a clean people thing.😊
Ooooh! I'll have to look into this! I was thinking about starting to try and learn the craft but I was wondering what I'm supposed to do with all the projects when I'm done.
Yes it is and to think your booty and coochie is clean from just rinsing it of with soap is just nasty 😩. I know what I never would be doing with a person who don't wash between there legs.
I've never heard that in my whole entire life and I am 61 years old from white, black or any other nationality. I use wash cloths, yes to get into those spaces. How she???? Never mind.
😂 I’m not proud of it, for I can’t do the proud/pride business. However, I’m Mighty glad/thankful my mother taught me this Necessary practice, it’s like breathing. I’ve known since I was a kid what they do, and unfortunately I saw it in the military. It’s Highly Nasty and unsanitary.
There's nothing better for your skin than a terrycloth washcloth. It exfoliates better and gentler. It's easier to use. I prefer the "cheaper" ones too. Those big oversized fluffy ones are like trying to bathe with a dishcloth lol. Use the smaller cheap ones. Now for my towels, those big fluffy bath sheets are the best.
Oooooh, you said it. The big fluffy ones are so luxurious, but do not really do the 'work' like the cheaper and thinner ones. I like the fluffier ones for my face and inside ears. Cheapies for the neck down, behind the ears and below!
@@rosedevereux2391 yes exactly! Sometimes I get those big fluffy washcloths in the towel sets that I buy. I keep them at the sink. I keep a stack in the guest bath for people to dry their hands (single use) when I have parties. They're also good for drying my face after washing at the sink, and I use one to drape across the front of the sink when I'm washing my face because I can't stand getting water everywhere.
@@thefayyazis Ooh you sound like my mama and she's a neat freak. I like your style. That part about getting the bathroom sink all wet and messy 👍🏿 And those big fluffy towels are the best.
Brazilian here. Half white/half black as most brazilian. I been watching videos talking about washcloths, here we all use soap. Washcloths is better? For the skin or you will clean your body better? I just want understand. Tks
I’m white and YES I do use a wash cloth for bathing , showering and washing my face.. People who don’t use them I wonder how do they get in the crevasses of their ears and other parts?!? Also just using soap doesn’t give any exfoliating properties.. BUT I WILL SAY , I know that some people don’t use them but hey , that’s on them , not for me…
You get in crevices with your fingers. If you've got stupid fake nails I can understand you not getting that but why do people have those? How do they wipe their bum with 2 inch talons?
You know you can just rub your skin with your nails right? And you can use your fingers for any crevice. But I understand people being obsessed with sterilization and not actually using their hands because bacteria so for the barrier reason it's understandable to use a washcloth or sponges. Idk. Never had a problem scrapping dead skin off of me with just my fingers and nails. And my nails are short.
You use your hands to reach the crevices and wash your hands between each one, simple. More efficient than using a different cloth each time. I use a combo of hands (for small spaces) and sponges (for the rest of my body)
White lady from UK here - I use a wash cloth (we call them flannels). I don't know why I feel the need to reply to this post. I think I'm being moved by the sense of injustice that your friend felt it was ok to say something so judgemental, yet obviously ridiculous.
@@JoyceCardinIn the UK we call them flannels. I use a separate flannel to wash intimate areas. I have 2 clean flannels every day. They are different colours so I know which is which. I also use an exfoliating glove some days.
I'll just say this...I've been in 5 and 5+ star hotels all over this country and on 4 other continents, and I've NEVER walked into a hotel bathroom and NOT found washcloths! They're there to be used!
Yesss 2 washcloths, white for face and color for body and it’s a must for everyone in the household. Don’t want to use a body cloth on our face.❤ and a new body cloth every day or two.
I definitely agree, social media has made it an issue to speak about it as if they're belittling the "wash cloth folk", but I'll be 51 next week and now that I think about it, I remember allllll of the soap commercials from the 70's and 80's and all of the actors are NEVER using cloths, they're always just splashing water around in the shower with their hands.
Yes it will. If not, then your hands aren’t getting clean after you go to the restroom? Soap, when used properly, will clean off dirt! Rinse well and dry them well!!
I grew up on a farm and believe me, you need to use a washcloth every day to get clean after working all day. Now that I'm old, I need one to reach my back and the "down there" area. Just makes sense.
I use a washcloth for my ears mostly, but also my belly button. I use a brush for everything below my neck and a buff puff for my face and neck. I like the exfoliation and clean feeling I'm left with.
Working in the nursing aid health care field we have always been taught to use a wash cloth on our patient for daily hygiene.. be careful with those who doesn’t Do we use only our hands to wash our dishes 🧐
She thinks bath sponges are more expensive than a wash cloth. It's possible, but still people use whatever suits them. It is definitely not a poor people etc thing. One thing is for sure, keep separate wash cloths. Body wash cloths should not be used for the face though. 😂
I don't really use wash cloths anymore, and haven't for years. I used the loofahs, but now I use an African net sponge for my body, and I love it. They're washable, more sanitary, and they can last for years 💚
@@kc6810 I wash my hands several times a day. I don't bath as many times. When shower I use a wash cloth it scrubs my body. I'm glad soap and water gets you clean.
I'm white, in my 50s, from the South, and I use washcloths. We didn't have money growing up, but my wealthy mother-in-law uses washcloths, which tells me it's not about money. How do people get clean without a washcloth?!
Wash cloths have been used for thousands of years. Usually it was an old piece of clothing cut up that was used for cleaning the house, and some were used for bathing. Some places used volcanic rock on their elbows, knees, and bottom of the feet. Nowadays, most people use those loofah things or natural sponges. For me, ota hard on the skin, i prefer my wash cloth. I have tried some made from bamboo fibers, it felt soft, but irritated my skin. 100% pima or supima cotton for me.
I’m a white woman from Louisiana. It’s hot, sticky and sometimes dirt sticks to that sweat. I don’t like those nasty sponges so a washcloth does the trick. Also, I always use a washcloth to wash my face. I use a clean one in the evening and another in the morning. I don’t splash water all over the bathroom counter. I feel clean! Gentle lady, you have not lost your mind. Keep on keeping on.
Yes many still do use soap only! 🧼 I have a friend whose family are German. The wife just. Recently started to use wash cloths after all these years. She had a guest over, and the guest asked her where were the wash cloths. So the guest had the husband to go out and buy the wash cloths. She’s been using them every day now.
Princess Catherine uses wash clothes. I am white and I use 2 a day. Sometimes more. I also have scrubbing bushes for the rough areas like feet. But some people use the plastic scrubby things, just brushes, etc.
Do you use a washcloth when you wash your hands every day? ... 😅. First you wash your hands in the shower and then wash your body, you also learn how to do self exams😮 and can find out something is wrong sooner than later! ...❤❤❤

48 year old white lady here and I’ve always used wash cloths, along with various sponges, loofahs, brushes, etc for exfoliation. It’s perfectly fine to use wash cloths as long as you use a fresh one each day. Wash your face first and then the rest of your body. I personally only use my hands for my face and have a dedicated facial skin routine so it’s always clean, exfoliated a couple of days a week (please don’t use mechanical scrubs) and moisturized.
Yes! Two wash cloths and a African net sponge to exfoliate a few times a week. Most of all don’t use the same two Wash cloths for the entire week due to bacteria. Wash your wash cloths in detergent and Lysol anti bacterial to make sure cloths are clean.
Neck up, I use a white one and shoulders down any colour. After shower, I thoroughly wash, rinse-off any soap and hang outside on the washing line. I change mine bi-monthly.
In South Africa 🇿🇦 we call it a wash rag or waslap.
And she’s RUDE! Even if you think it’s a “poor person” thing, why try and embarrass your friend?
It's mostly white folks who think it's poor to use a wash cloth. ..and now they got the 3 day deodorant cream so they really gonn be dirty

The woman you was speaking with gives a whole new meaning to "filthy rich" if washcloths are for poor people in her opinion.

Oddly enough a lot of white ppl don’t. If you’re so astonished just look it up on TH-cam, you guys glorify that and not brushing your tongue. I also learned in nursing older white ppl don’t wipe their asses either after using the toilet.

I love using them for exfoliating and blood circulation.
. new one every day
Glad to hear it! Because you want to keep your body clean.
*15 yrs ago not hrs.
They have bleach for colors also.Your able to bleach your color and whites.
Wash clothes for life. Cleanliness is a virtue
You use a cloth to clean your kitchen, your car, your bathroom, your desk at work.....pretty much everything. How some people think you don't need one to clean yourself is beyond me.

1. I was babysitting my "step grandson" (his mom is Venezuelan) and when it was time to bathe him I'm looking up down and to the next century for a washcloth. I finally asked him where is his washcloth and he says he doesn't have one🤨
Like how am I supposed to wash his little man parts and butt with no cloth? I kindly put that soap on HIS hand and told him to handle his business.
2. I tried the no washcloth thing for like three days and felt absolutely disgusting.

Thats not true 😂 its melanin that keeps the skin stronger..not a washcloth or exfoliation

Thanks for covering all bases. The answer is crystal clear now. 🔮

Yes many still do use soap only! 🧼
I have a friend whose family are German. The wife just. Recently started to use wash cloths after all these years. She had a guest over, and the guest asked her where were the wash cloths. So the guest had the husband to go out and buy the wash cloths. She’s been using them every day now.
You’re thinking straight lady. I absolutely use a wash cloth. Gotta get those cracks and crevices. I’m Team Washcloths! Go Team!😂
Cracks and crevices! 😂
As my 94 year old moma would say. "Wash your crack".
Princess Catherine uses wash clothes. I am white and I use 2 a day. Sometimes more. I also have scrubbing bushes for the rough areas like feet.
But some people use the plastic scrubby things, just brushes, etc.
It is a personal preference thing, not a ‘poor’ thing
It's a "disgusting" thing, when you don't!!!!
@@vondacookhow so??
Do you use a washcloth when you wash your hands every day? ... 😅. First you wash your hands in the shower and then wash your body, you also learn how to do self exams😮 and can find out something is wrong sooner than later! ...❤❤❤
@Kingjimmy181 I personally don't shower with just my hands but there are a million options other than hands and washcloth and people really will argue it's unclean to choose one of the other million showering options its wild to me
@@vondacookIt is a personal preference “thing” and nothing “disgusting about it!
Some people are highly sensitive to soap, cannot use soap, but need to use specific prescriptive cleansers. Is that disgusting??
I wash my hands multiple times a day and have never used a washcloth for that. Is that disgusting??
Many people prefer of use loofas or brushes. Is that disgusting??
I also like to use a non-disposable nylon bristle surgical scrub brush. Is that disgusting??
Personal Preferences to Achieve the Same Cleanliness.
48 year old white lady here and I’ve always used wash cloths, along with various sponges, loofahs, brushes, etc for exfoliation. I have separate wash cloths for my face and body and I use a new one every time. Someone who just uses their hands is not removing all the dead skin and it even makes moisturizer less effective.
Exactly!!
These vids you see, the ladies removing makeup or washing their face with their hands! I'm like they don't know how much stuff they're leaving behind. I use a washcloth and after I'm done go back with an astringent and cotton pad and you can see all kinds of yuck on it!
I don't feel right without using a wash cloth! I'll use it cpl or more times a day depending what I was doing & if it's hot outside 🥵 Plus I use the lufa, sponge & glove. I'm lost without the washcloth especially if I'm already in the tub & realized I forgot to bring a new one in! I'll be yelling for someone to bring it to me!! If no one's around i hurry outta the tub and grab a cpl an run back into the tub!! 😅 I'll never be without one though!!😂
👏🏾 thank 👏🏾 you!
I use a wash cloth, loofah. I even use these things that look like sandals with brush bristles to wash my feet!! They feel good. Wash clothes are not a poor thing or a race thing. I think she's has some issues other than taking a bar of soap and rubbing it in her butt and then using it in other personal areas. She is bringing race and social economic issues in her bath. Hum.
Its a CLEAN People Thing❣
Right.
Meaning those who Use a washcloth are NOT Clean?
(Sorry. That statement is not clear to me)
But hey - if that is what YOU Like, You GO!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼well said👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

That Lysol is toxic. I use a fresh washcloth every time. I also soak mine with some white vinegar. Non toxic.
Yep each washing. two fresh Cloths.
In South Africa 🇿🇦 we call it a wash rag or waslap. When you buy someone a towel gift-set in SA, it's always packaged with two sizes of wash cloths or washrags as we call it, in addition to the bath and hand towels.
When we're done showering, there are three things you'll find hung out on the washline to dry in the sun 🌞:
1. wash rag for the upper body
2. wash rag for the lower body
3. bath towel
4. panties/nickers/briefs/underpants.
South Africans🇿🇦 are clean freaks. We are big on hygiene, a wash cloth is a must when taking a shower or bath.
We are yes.
I'm from America and have always called it a washrag too.
It's the same here in America, too!
@@phoenixrising4226me too!!
We say wash rag also
You have not lost your mind! I use them too and I raised my kids using them too.
I’ve always used a washcloth. It’s essential to getting clean. Though I prefer to use a brush or loofah also to exfoliate and get the dead skin off.
