It's crazy that I came across this video! The Lord brought to my remeberance a conversation with my former First Lady when I was in my early twenties. She said "You have to deal with the Daddy issues. You can't keep running! You can't keep ignoring it!" I'm glad I listened to her and dealt with rejection and those "Daddy issues!" I'm 40 now, and I'm so glad I'm free from the spirit of Rejection!

Sometimes the kid has to be the bigger person. I'm so happy you were able to talk to your Dad.My situation is with my sister, she did some stuff and I have reach out to her and she keeps bringing up the past. She's mad because I put a stop on my debit card and called the company where she used it without my permission. I didn't press charges and I paid everything back. I miss her so much, she is not feeling it. 🤞 cross that you and your Dad can have that talk 🙏♥️

Some times it be the Mother that tells the Dad to stay away in some fashion. Some Dad’s want to be in their children’s lives. But they stay away because of the Mother. This is beautiful truth and consistent trauma💔 as someone who was raised by my farther only and mom lived across the country. I can’t imagine life without my farther even though very imperfect with two young kids at 21.
Your farther has the typical response to child abandonment.. my mother and I went through this for years after I became an adult.. the trauma stayed despite somewhat communication,
It wasn’t until her death 4 years ago that I received peace.
I now know it was because we could never know each other truly because of the absence of time.❤

I am proud of you and I don’t even know you! I know how difficult this was. This is me! I can relate. I used to think the world was so unfair that I was born to a man that completely abandoned me. I too have only seen him a few times. He reaches out every year for a few weeks he’s consistent then I don’t hear from him for a few years. It hurts that I have never felt the love of a dad, the loving embarrass of dad. I can’t even bring myself to call him dad even though he calls be “sweet heart” and “baby girl”. I still dont understand how / why I was never his priority but like you I hold no grudge. Last I spoke with him, he said he was coming to Charlotte to visit me. Girl, that was 2 years ago and he ain’t made it here yet. I have learned to love him from afar. I pray you and your pops can heal your relationship. That was a beautiful attempt on your part!

I don’t have the same issue because my Dad was present in my life, but this video brought me to tears because you are absolutely right. Father God loves you and will never leave it forsake you. He is with you and will strengthen you at all times. Keep calling on His name and trust in him. In your pain there is purpose and I pray that any other person out there who is dealing with this gets lead to the Lord so they can be renewed. ❤

As trauma stricken empaths we try and keep trying no matter what hurt they caused us as when judgement comes for our parents, we'll find solace knowing we did all we could and that pain we've endured will be finally be released.

He has always shown me that he really doesn’t care to have one so I don’t even bother anymore. It’s been about a decade or so since I’ve even spoken to him. We all truly do process things differently. It touched me when you said that you think about him everyday 😢 I’m praying for your healing & know that no matter what you are loved! This video was hard to watch 😢 so proud of you for having the heart to reach out to your father ❤ my dad was in and out of prison for abusing his kids mothers including mine and when i was around he criticized my dark skin compared to my siblings. Put a hole in my heart for years. Be encouraged Mamaz. I’ve been there. I’ve been sad, I’ve been angry and I’ve been done. Last year God had me write a letter to my Pops detailing all my feelings and issues, and then invite him to lunch after 2 years of not talking. I did that, reluctantly and it was emotional for sure. But he received it well and we had a real conversation for hours. We’ve started over and it’s better than it ever was before. God is no respect of persons. So if He could do it for me, He can do it for You! Be encouraged Sis and I hope it goes well 🙏🏾🌹🤗

My father passed away when I was 8 years old. I knew who he was because he made that known but I also know that he tried. The best thing about is his side of the family have always been involved no matter what him and my mother have been through. I am thankful for that at my big age of 46.

I used to be the same way. I didn't have a relationship with my father who lives less than 10 min away. All I would ask him when I saw him was money cause he used to lie to me when I was younger. As I got older and grew spiritually I learned that we all make mistakes we Aren human and whenever I do see my father I speak to him and talk to him like nothing ever happen cause I never want to relive that or bring the past up to him. I've moved forward.

The hard part for me is the fact all the years went by.... if he didnt have the thoughts, like why force it...speaking for myself... I keep getting hurt over n over they dont care but we always do because its a trauma response to not being loved in the first place, we always go above and beyond do the things we want but its never returned it sucks.... being emotionally intelligent is good but i swear... its so hard too . At least for me too, it was always me so im the crazy one coming back lolol...

I think maybe he’s not ready to address his wrong doings. Sometimes it’s that. They don’t know how to or it’s feelings in a severely hurt place and he rather not deal with it and with you and just tolerate not having you not in his life. It’s sad but a lot of older men refuse to go to extremely sensitive places for them regardless of how much you’re hurting. Everytime he hears your voice it probably takes him to that place. Then he might feel like “well I deserve to hurt from this because I wasn’t there for her” almost like they’re punishing themselves. If only they knew that the hard talk can come later, having just him present is enough. But for some reason, they can’t do it. My father included but he’s in my life 🙄 a whole other story 😒 but keep trying babe! Somebody has to take these first steps. Maybe you can get him to realize that you don’t want to live your life with out him in it. He is important regardless of whatever happened. ❤ I’ll be praying for you. Hearing stories like this just breaks my heart 😢❤

@@SimplyShell417 no problem ♥️A great analogy I use is thinking of our body/ mind as our “house”. “everything that makes us, us, our morals, integrity, our hopes and dreams, talents, memories etc is the rooms inside our home and all its decor. We keep everything thing on the outside of our house, the body, up to par. The yard is clean, grass is healthy, the paint on our house is nice etc etc lol. But, inside of our “house” there is one area or closet we stuff everything we don’t want to deal with in. Every time it’s open or we attempt to clean it out, we breakdown, cry, get depressed, lonely, hurt, or get angry. Only when everything is stuffed back in, do we go back to a normal state of mind.” I see you taking this situation out of your closet because You want to see it, forgive it, keep it, and experience it,because you realize your relationship with your father is a great addition to your “home” instead of it taking up space hurting you. We all need to go through and slowly clean out our closet of traumas fears and pains because We shouldn’t even allow a place in our “home” for it to stay 🤷🏾♀️you know?, It’s not healthy. You either make peace and get rid of it, or you heal from it and use it. It’s all for the betterment of your own peace of mind. I myself have so much “stuff” in mines 🤦🏾♀️ lol, But we are all works still in progress! I wish nothing but the best for you and your relationship with your dad. Maybe just by you taking this “situation box” out of your closet, it will make him take his out And you guys can go through everything in it together and Make new memories. Older People always said “Home is where the heart is”, and thinking of this saying in the way of this analogy, it literally is and makes perfect sense 😊♥️
