I like the fermented corn with pigs to do the work in the compost pile. The way Joel has strategies that cut external inputs and labor is genius . And why this style of farming is a solution to so many problems caused by high input ,high labor petrol based farming . Love it 🎉
The farm I work for has 60 horses and is looking to explore composting for profit. We use sawdust as bedding for the horses. Some people have told them the sawdust makes their waste obsolete for composting. Im just learning about composting on a large scale. How can we balance the CN ratio on a large scale? The family that owns this farm are really awesome people, and I would love to help them put something in place to generate extra profits for their operation.
Fungal composting can handle way higher N ratios if it happens in winter. Bacteria freezes while the fungi keeps fermenting. I just directly ferment spent malt from a brewery in winter and used it as fertilizer. It is full of micelium and no smell. But it has to happen in winter, dont dare to try it during another season.
I love this video! It is very informational, Thank You for sharing.

I really enjoyed this content-👍🙏🌻
Good to hear my leafs are going to compost well.
We get a tone of them. Just moved here and year one we raked up 4 pallet compost piles full of them.
Wood chips are my favorite. I do deep litter with pigs and chickens.
Thanks
Great video 🇳🇿🙏🏼

Hay and manure forms poopyrus sheets. Even more fun to muck out with a bunch of rocks in it.
Heh "poopyrus"
Whatever.
What’s wrong?
