- Our favorite sellers are back at it again with a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara edition. Let's see if we can figure out how bad they doctored up this one. 1C4HJXEN8NW251592

I know it's probably a pain in the ass for you to do all this shit but I wanna thank you for your time in investigating all of this and bringing it to people's legitimate attention
Actually these are easier than the regular rebuild videos. We’ll go back to the rebuilds but I thought I’d change it up a bit.
Good deal don't know what codes this wreck gonna throw
People still buy these shit box's wow
@@ronaldwarren1267 only reason i'll buy it is for parts, not rebuilding lol
This is amazing public service broadcasting. You're doing a great job flagging this up. Well done Scott.
Thanks!
The levels that these sellers go to in order to scam buyers, never ceases to amaze me.
And there are still people defending them in the comments.
@@vehcor Must be other scammers!
They aren't "scamming" UNLESS they are making false claims about the vehicle. It's YOU, the buyer, who has the responsibility to examine the vehicle to assess its faults.
Time for a dumb/haters video? :D@@vehcor
I meant comments ofc...
That Jeep is so badly damaged that it's un-repairable. It might be good for a few parts, but even the engine could be suspect if it was running with no oil with the Jeep on its side. Hopefully nobody buys it, because if they do, like you said, it's likely to cost them more than a brand new Jeep from the dealer. This must be one of the worst ones you've shown so far.
As someone who wrenched on the prior generations of Wranglers extensively including post-collision? I'll confirm it. This one's unrepairable, no question. Sure, you could put a frame under it. But once you buckle the rear? The body and roof are basically tinfoil and Body by Fisher-Price. You will never, ever get it right again. But hey you can fix that too! Just put a whole new body and roof on, and you've now fixed the permanent maracas and waterfalls from every opening! Of course, now that it's being driven, the owner realizes it has permanent death-wobble, so all those 'good' front suspension parts are actually junk. Womp womp.
But someone's gonna buy it, because It's A Jeep Thing(TM). And eventually another Jeep-of-Theseus will be on the road (with no doors, airbags, working seatbelts, or catalytic converters, but somehow an incorrectly installed $2000 lift kit.)
@@unavailablenumbers lol! 'Jeep of Theseus.'
once you roll a jeep, you have to change the roll cage. the top is all sectional and can be replaced in pieces. however, there are still a lot of good parts in it.
Noticed that in the original pictures of the damaged Jeep it had a "Sky one-Touch power top and the doctored Jeep has a standard Dual Top. Also, the Fenders snap on with clips and plastic pop-rivets, meaning that they didn't put the effort in to the replacement clips. Great eye for the details. Thumbs Up.
It's not doctored.
I've bought a car from Copart and one from IAAI. You must minimize your risk before buying with a strategy in mind. Obviously, see the car in person if you can. For me, if the seller's not listed I don't even think about buying it. Same goes for "clean title" or donated cars, you just don't know what you're getting. To minimize your risk, IMHO it's best to purchase a car that's being sold from an insurance company. They have so many totaled cars that they don't have time to doctor them. Also, scammers will usually target in demand cars that will get them the most money so don't get stuck on one particular car, keep your options open and look for less popular alternatives. They also tend to run their cars where the (uneducated) public are allowed to buy. I bought my cars in "dealer only " states through a broker. It cost me a little more but I felt it may have cut down on the number of bidders I was going against so it balanced out. Just my two cents.
I like how the "Pay Now Price" is $18,800 and the "Current Bid" is $25 in the latest listing :o)
The prebids, even on good vehicles, rarely jump up until the night before or day of the auction.
At the 4:00 mark, if you look at the running board/step and lower body line, the whole body and frame are bowed. This is not lens distortion, because the tire track on the ground is straight. Over the length of the vehicle, I'd guess close to a 1" bow in body and frame.
Looking at the photos after it was doctored, it looks like the frame is bent. We'll see further down the track when the original photos are revealed.

Vote for a scam of the week along with a scam of the year....
Nice job Scott keep them coming.
That Jeep is a parts Vehicle & should never go back on the Road especially with that Frame. Love these Videos Scott & your're giving more help than you realise.
I’m just doing what I can!
And that is what Most people buy from the auction for.
Hope you keep these up!
I have a really good one for Wednesday!
I think it’s great to call out the BS and see honesty. Well done
love that you are doing this and alerting as many people as possible is the best thing you can do.
👍🏻
This is one of the most disgusting ones they've done. It's an absolute shame they think they can scam someone from it.
This is a brilliant segment Scott.
They don’t always show the seller until the auction date is set. I was looking a blue 6M CTS-V2 in Tampa and it said nothing about a seller until the prebid went live. Thankfully my broker had auction issues and couldn’t bid. Half of those cars are in the auction with the drivetrain stolen!
Thanks, Scott.
Your insight from experience is what people need, even if they don't know that they need it.
Thanks for taking us along Scott. I really like this type of video. Squash the scammer! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I've been looking to buy a project car that I can tinker around with, and these videos have educated me to know what to watch out for so I don't make an expensive mistake. I've been a lifelong mechanic and there is always something to learn no matter how much experience a person has. Keep up the good work.
Scott.. TBH.. I really appreciate the time spent to find and educate us all. These are great and well done. Thanks for sharing. Have a great night!
Thanks and have a great day!
Very helpful that makes me think a couple of things before I go deep into the rabbit hole. Thank you so much and please do more in the future.
Keep these coming. Great videos
The bottom line is "If it looks too good to have been written off by the insurance company look very very very closely at it."
Thanks for the video Scott.
Love all your videos and the varying content!
Love these videos... Keep them coming! Thank You...
Thank you very much for all the amazing videos 😊😊
Love these videos , keep them coming!
That kind of eye for damage only comes from a ton of experience. Thanks for what you are doing Scott. Love the channel
Love this series. Keep em coming. Theyre out here in California too, being put on Facebook Marketplace. And if no one buys they send it though the auction like these guys
That is awesome that you are putting the VINs in the description now!! That way if someone is looking to buy one of these heaps and is just lazy enough to google the VIN you provided, your videos will pop up as a warning! I just tested the Jeep and the Jagwire and sure enough the auctions popped up along with your videos. Hopefully your videos will rise in the google search with more people watching them.
You are doing a great service, my friend. Using your years of experience and knowledge to help others in this unique way has probably already saved somebody I'm sure. Great video for all.
According to the comments, it has stopped a few people from bidding. Thanks for the support.
Professor Scott teaching us what to look for!
Or to 'just stay away to prevent being burned.'
Keep up the great work. U do. & Thanks for exposing the scammers
Thank you Scott.
As always, excellent work my friend. So many people these days buy used vehicles based on so little information, and look what you found out with some targeted research. Love the channel!
I love these doctored up videos💯🔥
Keep these coming, love them.
Happy Monday, Scott!🍻 Keep them coming!
Will do!
I bought cars till retirement 14 yrs ago. Great learning about latest car scams.. I thought I had seen every possible car scam. Well I am learning much thanks to you. Keep up good work. Also u are best body man. Thanks Lynn Pierce
Really like 👍 your stuff dude keep it up!
I guess Ive actually learned something last week. I picked out things before you could point them out. Last week, Id have never noticed a lot of it. Thank you for putting in all the work to make these videos for us!
It just takes a little practice.
Instructive. Thanks for your time and trouble to produce these videos.
You’re way better at seeing this damage with photos than my old eyes. I would never buy without being there to see and touch.
Can't thank you enough for doing these PSAs. I am learning a lot!
Might help too to do one or two on the flip side, where there are under-priced buy it now vehicles that are essentially beaters, but otherwise good mechanical and frame condition.
New subscriber. I don’t know how or where your channel came from but I’m really enjoying your content. Kindest regards, Bill 🇨🇦🇨🇦
To me a bigger issue over the frame is the engine. If this was rolled, most people's basic instinct is to re-start the vehicle after a roll over to see if it starts! You can screw up the lifters and other components if you don't relieve some of the pressures caused by fluids migrating into the wrong places.
Another great video
There was a guy in Apache Junction Arizona that had a bunch of vintage GTOs and parts for sale. I noticed a few totally rusted out Judge bodies sitting at the back of his yard with the cowl cut out of them, and then noticed a few other GTOs that were actually lemans bodies with their cowls cut out and one that was almost finished being welded in. This guy was faking Lemans bodies for an authentic Pontiac GTO Judge! We had some words about that before I sent the cops over. Not sure what happened, but I went by there a couple months later, and noticed there wasn’t any cars in front of his house except for a 90s pickup. Total Shitbag!
Is this the new Jeep "Arch" edition? Thanks for the video Scotty
Another fantastic episode and a great public service.
Ok! That's not going to buff out !
Good for you !
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
THANK YOU!!!!
General Patton would not approve of today's Jeeps! Thanks Scott for the video!
These videos are insane. So interesting and aggravating to see what these people do.
Not only is the frame bent, the entire tub is tweaked. Look at the B pillar and door interface. That whole thing is twisted bad. Be a decent drivetrain, interior and wiring donor for a flooded one but that is about it.
That looks to be a boatload of money to bring this one back to right. I wouldn't be surprised if the frame itself is twisted front to rear. Good review
Maybe a few good seats.
10:00, I agree I was going to say rollover.
I would think a Lite Rollover.
It would be good as a Toy.
Please keep this series up.
Thanks for educating us…
You bet!
Love these finds. Please keep educating the public!!! If I find some for you to look at where can I email you the auction number? Ive been doing collision work for over 14years and im public buyer at these sites as well. I only buy from insurance companies.
At 4:57 even the drivers seat looks bent. Somethings not right with it.
Thank God for people like you is all I'm going to say
A few years ago wife wanted me to get a Jeep Wrangler. Since I wanted to wheel it I started looking at copart. Ended up buying from hetz for a lot less and zero accidents claimed. Couldn’t believe the crap copart was selling and the prices were way too high.
Saint Vehcor Thank You,,, Thank You
Thanks..
Another classic excelnt video , your time youve spent showing us theses vehicles is sure as hell gonna save people time effort n greif just by looking for the things you explained , You should get the pizza delivery girl to do a couple really get up the bodge doctors nose,😁, Keep em coming ill be here watching
Scam week is to rebuilders what Shark week is (used to be) to discovery channel viewers. Great stuff Scott!
Did some body and paint for a used car lot years ago. Not surprised at all.
Thanks so much for your videos! Capital Heights is near me, so I watch EVERY one of your videos and I’ve told EVERYONE that I know to watch your videos, so they don’t get taken by these clowns!
That will all just buff out, I am sure!
😂
Ever do an OBS chevy rebuild? I got a 94 silverado and I love how simple it is.
I appreciate your videos and your information and especially your skill and ability to fix cars is absolutely amazing and your narration is very entertaining and interesting very entertaining and interesting rule number one never buy a salvage or damaged or pre-prepared vehicle from anyone other than the original insurance company Salvage seller occasionally they will repair a car and total it before repairs are completed but they are also listed as the seller those are a bit scary cuz you don't know what they found during repairs that caused them to Total it a lot of times the owner refuses to pick it up and that's a simple deal but they could have found a broken transmission bracket or something same thing at the car auction I never buy a car from another used car dealer or a seller other than a new car store store dealer
Thanks.
In the interior shot from the rear door, the drivers seat looks off kilter. The tub is even bent. And the running board gap in another almost certainly confirms that.
Also I've seen yards deeply discount less than perfect parts just to get a little bit more out of the car. So cheap way to hide more damage.
I noticed that issue too. The seat, mounts, floor board/ tub and frame could contribute to that. It has a used hard top for sure. Also a crack in the filler peice directly behind the grille.
It originally had the hard top with the retractable canvas roof. That was replaced with a standard hard top.
I am curious when a modern vehicle has a serious collision does that not register on the cars ECU so that you can extract that info with a high level scan tool to hack into G Sensors etc, surely things like airbags going off must leave a trail in the software memory too I am no expert in cars but I have some computer and software knowledge.
Great job with these vids - so many unsuspecting buyers get screwed by these dirtbags.
Thanks, hopefully we can save a few people from a financial mistake.
Scott, how are you able to find out the sales history of these cars at auction, maybe you’ve mentioned it before but I would love to know, thanks
First thing I noticed is a love watching your videos and seeing you tear these things apart and rebuild them if I was to look at this thing at an auction first thing I see is why is the grill look brand new and the headlights also looks like the front bumper is brand new just does not look like the rest of the Jeep as far as shine and paint in other words the Jeep looks rougher than those new parts on the front
That song you play at the end of your videos would be great for these......
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was watching one of your old video working on a 2007. Chevrolet truck, and you put some headlight. Bubs, that and you said they were pretty good. Can you give me a link to what kind of
Bonus week? Thanks for trying to protect us from our self. You know, if it looks like eye candy, it must be. Thank You.
We all make mistakes, a little help is needed sometimes.
That rear axel looks as if it 4" to the left. Bent track bar or frame damage. She been driven offroad hard, or hit hard drivers rear tire area.
HEY! Hello Scott and thumbs UP!
🥉thanks!
Man, this was the scariest one yet to me. Go job Scott.
In terms of possible financial loss, I would agree.
I bought a Jeep JK wrangler and the damn front door leak water. Very annoying; especially in the cold Ontario winter.
I bet this one is worse! 😂
3 flat tyres, rear-ended and possibly rolled? Maybe high speed pursuit over spike strip, then pitted over onto it's side/ roof.
It's junk- I bet the frame is bent badly over the rear axle hump, which is pushing the rear body up and making those rear doors not align. It's honestly not even a parts car- everything is damaged.
Could you put a ballpark cost estimate on these scams? Would be good to know how much these scams can cost you
Interesting series where you dissect these--seems like this should border on fraud or something. Thx for sharing!
i noticed also the rear drivers door was pushed at the bottom too so it will need way more work and parts not worth it not even for parts
Let's get this channel to 1 million subscribers
Its almost impressive the amount of work they do. Surely they could put their skills to a better cause
I feel the same way.
This is a good one
i see the tops of the doors on the drivers side don't match to the top.
Very nice!
Thanks!
All of these videos seem like pretty clear cases of an intent to sell through deceptive business practices or by defrauding the public. I heard you say it's prefectly legal, though unethical, but if a group of buyers were ever fortunate enough to find a legal basis for a class action suite, your videos would be a gold mine.
The issue is, these things are sold "as is", and the market needs to stay that way. Many of these vehicles are sold as "fix em up" project cars, or parts cars for scrap, both categories truly are caveat emptor, "buyer beware", because anyone who delves into either activity is purely responsible for themselves. If you fix up cars, it is your responsibility to know what you buy and what you might be able to sell it for as a merchant in your own right, so the price is at your discretion and what you want to pay for it. The extreme car rebuilder, restorer, it is up to him what project he wants to rebuild at his own discretion and at his pleasure. If they want to buy something to fix for their own hobby, it is only up to them what the project is worth, and the base car they buy to restore or build.
As such, they do not fall under protection for normal car owners and buyers. They are buying known used and damaged goods, with all the pitfalls and potential gains of buying used and damaged goods. This is the nature of any type of used and damaged goods market, and as it always should be.
Are these sellers unethical? Certainly. They are merchants of low value. They are wretched businessmen. However, the market they deal in requires light to no regulation, as is its nature, and so they are allowed to operate in such manner. The best response is what Mr. Scott is showing, the fact that those in the market know better and do not reward their business practices, by not buying these cover up patch jobs.
That was terrible from the start! When the hood was open, looked like the engine was dipping a little bit down on the right side.
Nice!
Thanks!
