17 years ago I went to Leeds and Watford in the playoff final, since then I’ve got married, had 3 kids, started a business and moved house 4 times and Leeds still haven’t scored in a final

Derby I've been to 3 playoff finals and seen us lose all 3 1994 and 2014 were absolute sickening losses although was too young to understand it fully in 1994,, 2019 just finished me off as an emotional club supporter,, in a way im glad about it.

Yeah I didn't really believe we would win today. The two games against Southampton was a blue print and today was no different. 1-0 down in second half and it's like watching paint dry.

Southampton were tactically superior to Leeds. Too much passing the ball side to side. Toothless tigers up front. The best team won and deserved the 3rd promotion spot. Farke wanted a shot at the big time in the Premier League with Leeds, but he’s getting found out too easily in this second tier league. Leeds Utd and Farke are not ready for the big time in the Prem. The results and outcome are now part of the facts and data that don’t lie.

The Norwich second leg was a one off in the context of our form since that international break. Armstrong did exactly what he has done to me twice this season. James was MOTM despite playing 30 mins
At the time I thought it was harsh that Wagner was sacked, despite getting Norwich to the playoffs. Now I know that they lost because they were so bad rather than Leeds were back to their best.

We have now lost their past three finals at Wembley without scoring and been unsuccessful in all six of their play-off campaigns.

As an Huddersfield fan I ought to be be happy but no,as a Yorkshireman we need some of our teams in the Premier,Leeds and both Sheffield sides are big enough to hold their own if they get there and have some investment in their clubs.Hopefully both Leeds and Owls can do it next year.

We needed Creswell and Joseph to be included more… especially when we are chasing a game. Plan b is putting Ampudu in midfield with gray. Hooking Kamara and Gruev. We have 3 wide players at the club that can swop wings during the game but don’t. Farke is poor,.

Was hopeful even optimistic that we could win today. The match and result in the end was predictable. Several players showed how limited they are in this match and in several matches this season if we are being honest.

I can't understand the support for Farke. He's tactically out of his depth, outwitted by competent managers, had a good team that he didn't motivate or manage effectively in-game, and doesn't make changes when needed. Been a Leeds fan since the 70's, tragedy is our way

After the goal you could see the mentality of the team was on the floor. Our press completely stopped working aside from ~5 minutes at the start of the second half. A team like Southampton will pick you apart if you don't pressure them and frankly we were lucky it was only 1-0. I am disappointed in Farke like everybody else, not just his tactics but because he's supposed to be a "man manager". I didn't see a side that was mentally prepared for the occasion. I don't think the 49ers will sack him though, unless they're certain that they can hire someone better.
Tactically outplayed, Piroe left his boots at home again, They were way better than we were, so disappointing and tbh Farke didn’t respond to Martins tactical prowess overwhelmed the promotion expert, very disappointing

Perfect assessment. Time for the 49ers to put their money where their gob is and expand the ground (outside of FFP). Get rid of that waiting list for ST’s and fill ER every game with 60k plus, and build towards promotion where we go up without pissing around and stay up. Dreading the fire sale this summer now though.

So a big fat failure for FARKE. Outsmarted by an inexperienced coach 4 times on the bounce. He chose a team who he thought would attack and blast Southampton off the park like Norwich. Yet we had all the possession but did nothing with it except end up passing it sideways and then all the way back to Meslier. No crosses and no shots from outside the box. Summerville and Gnonto may as well not be on the pitch, Piroe missing again so there’s 3 out of the 4 so-called best forwards in the league firing blanks or countered. Not until Dan James came on did we look like scoring as he crossed the ball into danger areas constantly. He took shots at goal and rattled the crossbar. Joseph should have had many more minutes this season but Mr Stubborn knew best. Connor Roberts looked deadly and crossed the ball into danger areas he should have been starting and Archie in the middle as a 10. FARKE isn’t the man for this club and we will now have a weaker team next season so don’t expect automatic promotion under FARKE.
The facts are that of our last 9 games FarkeBall worked once against Norwich and we also scraped a win but the rest was garbage so a 7-2 performance ratio against. We have been dire since Easter and FARKE has only been able to sort it once. Not good enough and deffo not promotion form. 2nd highest value squad behind Leicester yet finished 4th. I can that failure

What is there to say? The highs of the Norwich game to this. I didn’t see the match but have heard most of the comments from various content creators. It is SOOOO Leeds. Apart from the Bielsa promotion season, why, why, why is it never easy for us? The Leeds curse…on and on and on it goes.

Saints fan here. You just didn’t turn up and I’m really shocked personally. I was so nervous for that game because I know how fantastic your supporters are and how they can contribute to the passion on the field. I’ve seen them at St Mary’s many times (one game we were 3-0 up at half-time and you went and won 3-4… never seen an away stand with shirts off in the middle of Winter). So I’m shocked. But this season and its competitiveness with the top 4 is insane and this is a very cruel way to go out.

Lack of drive to get a striker and a central midfielder at the begining of the season has ultimatly cost us. This group of players has a sketchy grip on consistancy and on occasions dont turn up. Leaving a dynamic player like Joseph on the bench time after time shows a lack of faith. Farke out ????
We paid £16m for a striker who scored 41 goals in the Championship over 2 seasons for Swansea. Where have you been all season?

There's a subjective interpretation to "fell apart" good man. Please do not take it literally. From where I was sitting Gruev and Kamara could not cope with Smallbone and company and could not initiate effective openings for our attackers. Comparitively, we fell apart in that segment of the park, the proverbial engine room.
A case may also be made in our attacking department. Rutter and Piroe, most notably, fell apart. Apart from the James effort there were NO anxious moments for the opponent. At the other end, it was Meslier who prevented us from conceding two more goals. Until the introduction of James, our wingers fell apart.

Yes, that anxiety was to be expected from the Saints, given the capability of our attackers. Unfortunately our attackers did not realize their potential due to poor tactics. Our promising attacks did not materialize. They fell apart and fizzled out.
It's all about TENSES: real time and hindsight as well as PERSPECTIVES, their divergent vantage point opposed to ours.

Stars are at the exit door in a mad scramble now and with several Championship sides improving ,beyond all recognition,over the last 15 games(Millwall and QPR were top of the form guide) it could be a long struggle next season but,at least,you get to go to Oxford United:)
The worst part about it was that Southampton were only marginally less crap than we were. The salt in the wound is that I reckon 9/10 we would give Everton and Notts Forest a good thumping any day of the week.

This one hurts. But let's be honest, we knew it would be like this. Not good enough. Big players not turning up. Big summer ahead.
The decision to build around loans and high potential players from higher levels who would bounce if we didn’t go up like Rodon, Ampadu, Byram, Piroe, is why next year will be pretty tough, no playoffs, let alone automatics.
We should’ve gone for the longer term rebuild around young guys like Gray and Joseph, and high potential but Championship/League one caliber players this year because the championship will be weaker next year.
Would’ve been easier to gone up if we had to deal with the rebuild year this year. Will be hard to do anything with the vultures circling.
