    South Sudan's tragic history is repeating itself. Vice President Riek Machar is accused of responsibility for the fighting that has broken out across the country. In the last 48 hours around 500 people have died. In 1991 Riek Machar was responsible for what led to the slaughter of tens of thousands of Dinka people in what became known as the Bore Dinka massacre. Watch the only TV investigation into the remote heart of the massacre zone, with interviews with both Machar and Garang.
    History repeats itself in South Sudan

    Even though I live in the United States, but after watching it made me cried because I'm one of those who live parents less because of this stupid war that killed and still killing people today. I like United States more then anywhere else. The pace that I found here I never see anywhere else. If I were still in South Sudan today I might not make it.

    My people, remember these pictures? My father, Akuany Chol Achieu of Biong was killed during that Reik Machar's madness. I already forgave Riek for that but my prayers are for our future generation. Please my people, never let anything like this happen again wether I'm alive or dead. It really hurts to lose those you love without proper reason.

    Africa is plagued by tribalism --I come from a country(Zambia) with 72 different tribes, each with a unique language-- and the only hope is against this is the complete eradication of IGNORANCE. Most of those 6000 Nuer young men don't even know why they are killing other human beings.

    I now close my grieve for my father Akuany Chol Chieu of Biong Village, Makol Cuei, Bor South Sudan. My father was killed by Riek Machar's army while I was in Ethiopia. Brother Garang was very smart to take us away. Those who listen to lies may continue to listen but just remember that liers continue to inspire more hatred and killings. I can't bear to see my people suffer. Every South Sudanese is my family. Please, my people, let's embrace peace so that love and unity may grow...please...

    My people, we MUST never let this massacre happen again. I lost my father, Akuany Chol Achieu due to this violence.
    _I have already forgiven Riek Machar for destroying my life and those of Bor residents. History is sometimes hard to forget, but good Humans always burry the pain, swallow the pills if you can, but we must stay alive as long as we can my people.
    _If you are reading this message, you know I was angry because someone killed my father for no reason, but we have to forgive in order to move forward. It may not erase the pain, but it may help my heart and pump for another day.
    _Human greed has been well documented and even a devil nowadays calls himself a Democrat. May good help us, my people.

    Dear Journeymanpicture,
    We all are obligated to make this world a better place in whatever we do. Having the power to influence the mass is a very important tool. With that important tool, we can choose to use it for good of the mankind for evil. The video you title "Nuer Mascre" is creating hatred among my people of South Sudan. I have encounter so many people who reference the hatred between Nuer and Dinka to your video. please, if your intention for the new country is good, delete the video

    @roootchopf, this is my disagreement here. I think that "doing nothing" is the solution.
    Western governments did "nothing" to help China out of its poverty 40 years ago, and look at them now. They had African style starvation back then. 80 million (!) died until finally the Government decided that central control doesn't work.

  • @N113r
    @N113r 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dear Journeyman, a little less than a year ago, I wrote you about the impact of your video in South Sudan society. Well, you have succeed in planting seed of hate between South Sudanese. Today, South Sudan is the worst country in the world as far as the war and genocide that happened on Dec 15-18 2013. Well, it's non of your problem since rebuilding this nation will not be done by you. Great view on TH-cam's have caused my people to die. Let's God be the judge.

    My dear Humans, I know how graphic this video is to even think of posting a comment, but sometimes truth has to be known and thanks to the Journey Man.
    _I have forgiven Riek Machar for killing my father, relatives and friends. In our Dinka village of Makolcuei, we considered ourselves family but Riek Machar dismantled the very fabric of Humanity. This video is not a propanda, but the truth, so my people, please never repeat such a stupidity again, please.

    My people, the pain, and the suffering my people have gone through is unimaginable. Dr John Garang was just trying to salvage a Christian nation from an Islamic one but Riek Machar, who has been switching sides depending on his wallet size, had turned our country into a lawless nation. SPLA/M must have an inner reflection on their current jobs. . My brothers...SPLA Comanders know how to act, respect and response when needed...I pray that my people are safe every time, every minute every hour, every day every month and every YEAR, Just a wish wishful thinking Chol, your people will never learn. Thanks brother....My people will never learn,...he...what was that idiot saying..........I

    • @arunrajspillai
      @arunrajspillai 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, you my brother, still don't realise that the actual culprit is the Abrahamic Religions of Islam and Christianity, that's root of all problems in Africa.
      Your Ancestors lived in harmony with nature and thrived, co-existed and were self sufficient. The Creation made you strong, handsome and kind-hearted.
      Look at what plagues you now.
      Hunger, Poverty, illness and the list goes on.
      The Arabs first spread their propoganda and their objectives, the Christians though arrived earlier, got super active post colonial powers entered Africa.
      In short, my only wish is, you see the true light, reclaim the lost glory of Africa, the heritage of your people is suppressed, to an extent that you are made to believe that Egyptian Civilization had nothing to do with Black People. Whereas it's you who are the founders of the same, credit today goes to other Ethnic groups squatting on the vaccum left due to the Identity Crisis that Africans are today in.

    @roootchopf, painting Sudan is a backward hell hole, that is hopeless without aid will not get you anywhere.
    If you read Dambisa Moyo's material, you'll see how aid encourages dictators to hold down their people in a state of desperation and DISCOURAGES prosperity.
    Even this video mentioned that getting flight permits out of Hartom is one of the most difficult issues here.

    Illiteracy mixed with ignorance and some stupidity is killing my people. That is what happen when you are led by a great 4 student. Does Kiir and his followers even know how ti inspire the grassroots? How to build schools and teach our kids on basic human rights? I do not hate Salva Kiir, I just want him to do more for South Sudanese. Our people are suffering. Do something tangible, something that will unite our many tribes. Before I came to Canada, I was teaching at Fuji Academy in Kakuma Refugee Camp. There were kids from different cultures and I treated them equally. I was following John Garang example thinking that we were all Sudanese, or South Sudanese as it it became. Innocent civilians got nothing to do with this, so please stop killing.

It truely hurts to kill innocent Human Beings lawlessly and claimed...war is the reason to hurt each other. I have sworn not to have sex or have any children till I die because I do no want my bloodline to suffer in this mean and greedy world. I hope I die soon, peacefully, because I'm tired of Human stupidities.

    @roootchopf, China & Sudan were pretty much on par until 1977.
    I think it's a fair comparison. It shows how quickly you can turn things around. China pretty much eradicated staravtion in less than 2 years once they freed up the economy and opened up trade relations with the world.

    @ornitorrinco01, that's why I wrote "western governments", and not 'the west'.
    Western corporations have improved China quite a bit, unlike western governments which have screwed Africa completley.
    The poverty in some areas in China is mostly due to their own government holding them back and manipulating their currency.

  • @LibertyDownUnder
    @LibertyDownUnder 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @roootchopf, to suggest that there's a shortage of cheap workers in Sudan is a big call.
    I don't buy it.
    Botswana, Angola and Rwanda are slowing getting rid of the aid model and are growing rapidly thanks to foreign investment. African countries who want to stop starving to death can do so. They simply have to privatise the land, respect property rights, and deregulate their market.

  • @LibertyDownUnder
    @LibertyDownUnder 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @roootchopf, so having more people makes it easier to feed them all?
    Africa has a lot of fertile agricultural land, Sudan has plenty of water & natural resources too. All that's needed is a stable Government and to get rid of aid & its influence.
    Zimbabwe turned from having a massive export market, to a starving nation in no time once Mugabe took over the farms. The complete opposite can happen in any country in Africa, and they can get out of poverty.

    @roootchopf, if you get rid of Capitalism, we'll all be like Sudan or North Korea. Or China pre-1978.
    If you think modern day China is worse off than Sudan because of ups and downs in the economy - then I'll have to disagree.
    I'd rather have an unstable or "unfair" job than to beg for a living and die of starvation.

    @roootchopf, no oversight is better than broken / corrupt oversight. If you don't understand something - don't invest in it.
    The reason so many felt comfortable lending to the US mortgage industry is that the Government guaranteed it! Ron Pauland a few others warned about it back in 2002-3, way before anyone thought it was coming.
    If you have some time, this clip explains the whole thing and shows how GW Bush & a few others sowed the seeds for this dissaster:

    Please see the following articles from various Human right groups, among them Human rights watch and the UN. The UN featured article focuses on the Juba neighborhood of Gudele where the massacre of Nuer civilians began December 2013. The first article below documents the Dinka presidential guard that was employed and privately funded by the current President Salva Kiir. This group was used to kill Nuer civilians in Juba. The government's actions have LSO come under suspicion as they have demanded armed soldier access to UN grounds where Nuer civilians are hiding. Please see below for this and an article describing the door to door extra judicial killings conducted by the government of Salva Kiir.

    To date there has been very little reporting on the deaths of the Nuer civilians at the hand of the primarily Dinka led government. Much of this is due to state reporting having the ear of the media. As you are a journalist, if at all possible I would be overjoyed if you could look into this. I would like to know if this project would interest you.
