    Hey, 60 minutes, how about you do some investigative journalism and report the truth. Do a video on what really happened on August 8, 2023. So, why wasn't there water to fight the fires? Why wasn't the emergency siren system employed? Why were people told to drive back into the fire zone while trying to escape? Where was Govenor Josh Green, police chief Pelletier, Mayor Bissen, et al., during the fire and afterwards? Why did they spray a toxic substance on all of the burned properties without the owner's consent? Why were the water meters taken after the fires? Why were governmental and non-profits organizations allowed onto the burned properties, whilst the owners weren't allowed on their properties for 3 months? How is it possible to have only 99 deaths in a fire this size, in residential and business properties, with no warning? How did the Pentacostal church get a burn across the entire top of their building that looks like it was cut with a laser? We could go on and on, but you get the message, right?

    When the 60 Minutes reporter asked Mike Walker the question, "What can you do to make sure this (non-native dry grasses) isn't a tinder box?" Walker replied, "Well, a lot of the land is just unmanaged..." The problem with his answer is that it's not an answer (non-answer, answer). It's an excuse that the State of Hawaii uses to shield them from blame for the fire spread that occured. These grasslands need to be sprayed with a firefighting wetting agent that contains a surfactant. 3 crop dusters each carrying a minimum of 500 gallons of water mixed in solution with 5 gallons of Class A fire fighting foam (surfactant) could have made all the grasses that caught on fire too wet to burn. No one is taking responsibility for maintaining dry grasslands when their fuel moisture content is so low that it will burn wild in the presence of high winds such as they did in August of 2023. This fire could have been prevented but the Hawaii State Fire Marshal is ignorant of the strategies required to prevent wildland fires and the tactics to stop them from spreading once they start. All Fires Start Small and Anything That's Wet Can't Burn. The Fire Service failed to get the grassland wet using wetting agents from a crop duster. There's nothing else anyone can do to stop these fires once they start. The whole "Blame it on unnamed State Bureaucrats for not managing the grasslands is a dodge. These fires can be fought with Crop Dusters in 60 mph winds NO PROBLEM.

      He was also talking about private land owners. There are many celebrity landowners, Oprah owns a huge swath of undeveloped land. It’s right by Wailea (Kihei) and from what I understand all the way up the far side of Maui. You can’t drive all around Maui, you go up one side and back down the same side. Don’t just blame Hawaii. Look at Paris Hilton, she went right at the time of the fires and took up valuable rooms so she and her family could play. Look at Oprah she was criticized heavily, she took a film crew with her to some Maui shelters, and they wouldn’t let her film so she and one of her crew went in and she gave out those nasty foam Walmart pillows as her gift. No pillow cases, just a foam pillow. Someone filmed her with their camera…..she really just wanted to gain popularity and acknowledgement for her good deed. The land she owns that regular public can see is just waste land, dry grasses, looks dead. He wasn’t calling them out but if you know a little about Maui you will know the amount of Rich and famous have property there. Somehow I don’t think they gave them to the homeless to use. Maybe some but not most.

    I feel for these FFs. I've been there, and the guilt consumes you. This fire had to be in 2500 F range, and yes, brush fires can get that hot when structures are also burning. That fire engine burning to the ground is wild. Just so sad.

    i cease to understand how U.S fire departments that cover wildland/brush fire prone areas, have not implemented burnover protection systems on their vehicles. This is almost now standard practice on Australian fire appliances especially after our 2019/2020 bushfire season. Please anyone seeing this tell me otherwise if you know of any U.S department that has burnover protection on their vehicles, as i am dumbfounded once again why this isnt standard safety equipment on wildland/brush fire prone area fire department vehicles.

      We see many trees NOT burned to the ground. Some have retained branches only an inch or 2 thick. Because they were alive, with sufficient moisture to defend the tree for sufficient time while other more flammable items were consumed. High winds spread flames, but they can also protect less flammable items from sufficient heat to evaporate interior moisture.

    • @MyFavouriteMartin1
      @MyFavouriteMartin1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@danielolson437 Had it been a natural Brush fire, Id agree with your viewpoint that a tree *could* have survived due to the amount of moisture it contained, especially had it not been exposed to actual flames for a sustained period of time. But in this case, where nothing but white ash remains of thousands of homes, car after burnt out car had their engine blocks melted, the windshield glass melted/liquified, there are rivers of molten aluminium trailing over the bitumen and humans and animals unable to outrun the hellfire that day, were turned into Pompeii like corpses! Which all suggests the heat source had to have been 2500+ degrees and with hurricane strength winds behind it, it seems unfathomable that ANYTHING much less a thin branched tree managed to survive!
      The only plausible explanation I can give for why the things that survived, survived, is that they were not in the energy weapons "field of energy" or in its direct path / line of sight.

    My comment was deleted. The Police chief of Maui was also a Police Captain at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas tragedy. Got transferred from one tragedy, to a promotion, with a bigger tragedy. This is very suspicious. His education listed on linkedin also happens to be none other than: The FBI National Academy.
    This does not help my suspicion in his possible involvement in both tragedies.
    I quote:
    "It’s the kind of message he has used before, in the aftermath of another American tragedy: the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting that left 58 dead and hundreds injured.
    Pelletier was a Las Vegas police captain when a gunman with military-style rifles opened fire from the windows of a Las Vegas Strip high-rise hotel into a crowd of 22,000 attending an outdoor country music festival. The violence shook the city to its core, like the wildfire has done in Maui." (Associated Press)
    I want answers. I knew someone who died in Vegas. This is a very strange "coincidence"
