Disliking a phone because it's not available in your country seems pretty childish.

Some carriers, including mine, still use physical sim cards, and I have found out the hard way through experience that trying to get an international version of a phone to work on my network is almost impossible.

So reasons are:
1) It wasn't officially released in the US
2) It was too expensive at launch for his taste
3) Bezels are thick
4) Small incremental upgrades when compared to A54
5) Does not include a charger
6) Phone charges not as quick as he'd like (25W) - no wireless charging
7) For 500 US$ you can pick up a "better" phone (One+ 12R)
8) Galaxy A35 is "almost the same experience" (but without HDR and last year's processor)
9) No 3.5 mm headphone jack
10) No AI features like those in the S series

1. Glad it's available in PH, but only in 8GB/256GB variant though.
2. I'd rather have it than any other phones from PRC.
3. Nobody cares that much where I live. You won't notice it eventually because screen is immersive enough.
4. This is my 1st A Series (as a daily driver), but aluminum body is nice.
5. Here, it's got bundled with the 25W charger, plus the Buds FE. And 2 years installment. It's around $440 equivalent.
6. Ditto but I avoid wireless charging anyway.
7. Same as #2. And A55 has 4 years software updates and 5 years security updates.
8. Exynos 1480 is actually a good upgrade based on reviews. Hopefully apps get optimized for it more.
9. Ditto. At least I got Buds FE with it bundled.
10. You can still remaster photos, erase reflections, adjust background blur, clip to stickers, use ChatGPT, use Google lens and Circle to Search (press and hold Home button).

I would rather buy a samsung phone than any Chinese brands with tons of useless bloatwares plus them removing some features that would prevent them from spying on you, and Chinese phones tends to go slow as time pass because without you knowing tons of background apps keeps running there.
People whining about the bezels being too thick. Most people in France got themselves an iPhone 11, 12, or 13 from the second hand. And when you see the bezels on iPhone 11, I can guarantee you that the ones in A55 are actually smaller. Besides, you will put a screen protector and a case on your phone anyway, so the bezels won't be that noticeable. Personally, I have my S21FE, and the screen protector size was always a challenge for me, because the bezels are so thin that the screen protector is hardly fitting the screen dimensions to protect it wholly So, I don't mind having a little bit larger bezels and to be able to fit my screen protector better.

Slow charging to 85 % prolongs the battery life.
The first thing I do when I buy a new phone or tablet is to limit charging to 80-85%. No need for fast charging or wireless charging.
What do you mean? Don't let It get to 100%?
You can from time to time. Batteries do not like being at 100% or 0% for long periods. It is optimal at 80-85%. Charging from 15%-80% is worse than from say 60%-80% (which is why it is advisable to charge frequently while having the charge limited to 80% or 85%).
But if you tend to change phones often (e.g. every 2 years or less)... forget about it... you won't even notice the degradation in battery capacity in your average usage.
The battery last long that you dont need to charge it always
@@GeraldoGomes-et7mr Lithium batteries degrade faster when completing full charging cycles, your device's battery will die faster if you deplete the charge to 5% and charge it back to 100%, it will be more comfortable for the battery to be charged within 60-80% range, tho you should still allow it to charge to 100% from time to time to avoid uneven cell degradation, also avoiding prolonged heat exposure, either from charging or merely the environment temperature but that's about it, this is optimal for battery life, not mandatory but if you wanna make it last as long as possible it's how you do.
I bought this phone for my son last week for a bargain price at Amazon UK and it’s a solid device. He plays Roblox, does video calls etc and so far no heating issues. The edges are sharp but the first thing I did as he unboxed it was to apply a screen protector and put it in a case anyway.
It has many of the flagship features except for AI. I’ve heard that the camera isn’t amazing but we haven’t tried taking photos with it yet, he isn’t keen on cameras anyway so it wasn’t a problem for us.
Also, I fiddled with my mum’s A54 for a couple of weeks and I noticed a considerable improvement with the A55, the older one is very sluggish and the price difference isn’t great to justify getting last years model (it was £230 vs £265).
I’d highly recommend this phone if you can find it for under £300.

The boarder around the A55 is not a problem for people who like to buy a strong rubber case to give it more protection should you drop the phone.

Agree. The bezels won't bother me because I usually have thick border case anyways. It's the Micro SD slot for me and staying in Samsung platform is a what I wanted. The new Samsung flagship phones has no micro SD slot and that's why I have been with my s20 for all these years.
I see these videos of people talking about how you can get a better phone for the same price, but then you go and look and they just do not have an expandable storage option. No SD card slot on almost any phones today
S23FE doesn't have one, the 12R doesn't. Even thought the Moto G Power does, I don't like thr fact that you're not sure if your phone is even going to get software updates the next year.

It wasn't expensive for launch. It was 429€ with optional free upgrade to 256 for 0€ insteadbof 50. If you trade a predecessors you got 80 bucks off on top & the galaxy buds instead of 110€ for 29,99€. So basically I got it for 289,00€. Great built quality. Way snappier processor & with an 1TB SD card. A solid phone 👍

@@emanormanrey4268still a very good display. I heard somewhere on yt that new Samsung users were complaining that the colours of the previous displays were way too saturated. So Samsung had to tone it down towards natural colours
@@emanormanrey4268Did you get it? Better check personally. I used to shill for this phone but then I saw the display and it sucked so much. Don't know why they toned it down to the point Vivid looked uglier than my old 2016 phone with an LCD display.

Having no wireless charging is not a big deal. I have iPhone and i don't even use wireless charging 😂. The headphone jack is also not a big deal because a lot people now use wireless headphones.

The biggest problem with this phone, is not mentioned, on the list underneath here.
The metal edges, are really badly finished, and how far they protrude from the screen, differs from top to bottom, making them very sharp, and not well rounded. Combine that, with the design of the bezels, makes it a really uncomfortable phone to hold. The A35's plastic edges, are better finished, and is a much more comfortable phone, to hold in the hand.

I'm getting this because it's definitely an upgrade from my s20. I like the Samsung OS systems and features AAAAND it still has micro SD card slot expansion. Micro SD slot is always a make it a break it deal for me. I never went above the S20 because of no micro SD.
No s20 is better. Better screen, camera, connectivity hardware, gaming performance. Don't scam yourself. Cloud storage is cheap
@bignoob2726 at this point the A55 is the better choice. If I am not mistaken the s20 will not get anymore security upgrades. I have both phones on my hands. The A55 keeps up with the s20 as far as speed and battery life is a lot better.

For that price point it’s definitely worth it.
It's a great phone. I'm using it now and it's actually built like a flagship phone.. internals may not be top of the line but it's definitely not bottom tier by any means.
My only problem on my samsung A 55 is the front cam my face is dull

This phone has now reduced price here in the U.K. to £289, currently equivalent to $365 USD. The sound quality from the stereo speakers without the ear buds is also brilliant. You pay your money, you take your choice, having bit the bullet and bought the A55 I think it is now definitely worth the money.
If you play games dont buy this phone cuz its got a screen problem/screen touch, so basically if you fps shooting game its very bag cuz if u use more than 2 finger ur aim goes up

Better display, more demanding chipset all drain battery faster, cause battery barely changed since then from 4500 mAh to 5000 mAh thats why

Oneplus 12r has very good specs, but there's a lot of issues that make it a bad choice! You can find it in the Oneplus community, and the support team is OK, not good, but the samsung team is the best, I think that, and I was between 12r and a55. Finally, I preferred a55 because of that.

If you instead want something that really matters, I would say it is pretty uncomfortable to hold due to its size and weight. Holding it while lying down with one hand makes your hand tired, with two hands you easily drop it in your face.

If you're coming from an iPhone, I suggest going straight for the S24 or S24U to really see how far Android flagship phones have come. I feel like the misconception that Android is laggy compared to iPhone starts here, because typically, those coming from iPhone pick up lower or cheaper Android models. You'll appreciate Android if you experience the flagship and premium experience. But if budget is an issue and you don't need a fancy phone, the A55 5G is okay. However, you might also want to try the S23 or S22, which might now be as affordable as the new A55.

Some of us are looking for phones that are wider than the skinny ones that are everywhere.
International standard for HDTV is 16:9
Hollywood's Widescreen ratio is 1.85:1, which equates to 16.65:9
So the A55's 19.5:9 is closer to those standards than a phone using 20:9
This is exactly why a lot of us want wider phones to come back.

Lmao 25 watts, and doesnt even come with a charging brick. And exynos isnt even optimized on most games compared with snapdragon and mediatek. I'd picked vivo or oneplus anyday over this a55. Who cares about software fking updates from samsung? They're notorious with slowing down your phones even further with each software updates. Good luck with the 5 years software update tho, surely most samsung users wanna downgrade their phones to its default software version, as samsung will make ur phone laggier on every update, pushing you to trade it in and buy its latest release 🤮🤣
