The SLS AMG is without a doubt the best choice. I’ve always wanted a gullwing Mercedes.
I drove one. Carbon fiber seats, red leather upholstery - exactly like the one shown. Sounds like a monster and almost makes you afraid to push down more on the accelerator, if you can still reach it after being pushed back in the seat from the G's of acceleration. YEAH, that's the one I would pick. Oh and you drive around with a constant erection from all the power and luxury.
Plus, it can also be a replacement for the DeLorean.

SLR McLaren every time, it's a part of history unlike the rest and is an actual hyper car which you've never had one before.

I think the issue is that these cars have appreciated a lot in value and are now like 500K. Plus I feel like hoovies channel is more about keeping it a little "realistically achievable" for it's viewers so I don't think this would be a fit in that way. The SLS isn't my favorite car either, but I get why it would fit his channel.
@@stephans1990 no they go for 220k at dealerships, I could imagine the cheapest in America could be like 180k which is in the same ballpark as the other 2. But alot more SLT and gt40s were made than McLaren's in fact with only 1000 SLR McLaren's produced period between 2 years, Bugatti has produced roughly 2.5x as many veyrons and even more chirons, this is a very rare car and will most likely appreciate given it used to be the fastest and is a Mercedes McLaren shared nameplate.
Manny Khoshbin has 5 of them, think about it... It has to be an investment ;)

"The Phantom didn't depreciate much". Only $1098 a month. Good to be Hoovie.
Plus, he factors in a different revenue stream. He “lost” some money on the car, but he is able to depreciate the vehicle itself, expense repairs to some degree, but he made all of that up plus more via advertising and TH-cam revenue. I’m certain it is a net sum gain for him.

I was in a really really crowded and loud restaurant with tons of small children screaming everywhere. An SLR blew past, I could hear its roar crystal clear through all the noise. I would buy that car in Roadster form just to point and shoot everywhere. Absolutely sick noise

SLR McLaren - sounds awesome and the engineering in every detail is exquisite. The way the bonnet/hood hinges work for instance, is a thing of beauty.
I would go with the SLS AMG - last of the naturally aspirated 6.2 V8 engines.
The SLR McLaren might be a good buy too, but not nearly as good looking as the SLS.

Yeah, the SLR is probably at the bottom of its price parabola as long as he doesn’t wreck it. Those were also a lot of millennial dream cars.
McLaren SLR. I followed a factory fresh one from Woking, where they were made, to Guildford. A gorgeous car and will most likely appreciate in value. I recall Clarkson stating, "At full chat it can empty its fuel tank in 20 minutes."
Don't do the Ford GT, great car but Doug DeMuro has one and Clarkson has had one, so they're a bit "common"

I'm on the fence. Either the SLR or the SLS. The SLR has always been one of my favorite supercars. That's the one I'm leaning towards.

Man I’d give just about anything to get my hands on the Camaro. I love those car and I’m really good at working on the optispark system due to being a technician and having to work on them on almost a daily basis in the past lol.
I remember watching the video of the wizard trying to change the fuel pump with trying to just drop the tank and sneak it out and I’m sitting there kinda laughing because I remember tying that my first time and going through the same hell he was.

You should probably avoid the McMerc; parts are insane. Something like $40k for new brakes, $20k for an axle. Its got Merc and Mclaren markup, then doubled just for good measure.

The SLS is one of my favorite cars of all time. I was also in Germany around that time and spent time on the Nurburgring in one and that really cemented my love for it. That being said I think the SLR or Ford GT are a little more you. Any of those are great options though!

I am a Ford lover, and even I say to go with either of the Mercs. Haven't seen an SLR on a channel and those cars were awesome when they came out. The SLS was one of my favorite cars when it came out and I kind of forgot about it. So I would say either one would be a great choice.

Buy the Mclaren SLR, that's one of my favorite cars of all time.
I’d go with the SLR, from what I recall they’re actually pretty reliable cars, the V8 and transmission package is similar to the unit in a ton of period AMG cars, and there really isn’t that much trickery going on otherwise. The only thing to watch out for is part prices on the carbon fiber pieces, iirc the hood alone was a $75,000 part from MB.

Is it a Z3 or a Z4, I still haven't figured that out. Don't know my BMW roadsters that well. All i can say with certainty, it's neither a Z1 nor a Z8, because those would've been something special.

I haven't had a chance to drive the SLR but I have seen one and they are amazing. But I have driven a few SLS coupe and convertibles. Get the coupe and you will be happy. Last Gullwing Mercedes currently. First and last AMG designed N/A V8. Love them.
SLR and SLS are both great but I'm like you and have fond memories of the SLR. As you said get the SLR now or it may be too expensive in the future, SLS will always be reasonable.

I love the SLS AMG, although the SLR Mclaren is very unique. Either of those have my vote.
I’ve also seen some good deals on 2017 Maclaren 570GT’s under a 150k, one clean title 135k with 3,000 to 5,000 miles. It’s been tempting me along with a few Aston Martins. And a 2014 Raptide S with 20k for $75k.
