Nope it should start after the logo shows. Is the battery charge OK? If you have a usb power it via that see if it stays on. Android charger leads will fit

It records sound but in the waterproof case it's not great. There is no jack to put a mic directly into the camera but you can record off camera. You can see example here th-cam.com/video/mydlO05x1uA/w-d-xo.html
I know this video is old, but did you ever see the camera not turning on and giving a continuous red light even after being on charge for the full day? nothing is actually working on the camera, it won't even turn on
I have the same issue. It turned on fine out if the box, then nothing but a continuous red light. I've left it on charge and it still won't turn on. I'll leave the power to run down completely and see if that helps. Bugger! :(

@@garethroberts7681 when you plug in the USB the screen on the Goodmans action camera automatically goes to webcam/ if no memory card is present. Other action cameras you have to select the option from behind the camera menu.

This depends does it say this when it plugged to pc via USB? It may be down to what defualt setting you have on your computer for "what to do when USB components are plugged in"

Do you mean it can't play the avi footage file the camera created? If you download and install VLC player it will let you play the avi files the camera creates. Also format the card before you put it in the camera to record.
I am going for 2 of these tomorrow for our home & one for up above the windows all due to our out-house,it has been broken in to twice now and the pathetic clowns are needing caught as i saw them in WilKos for £20 each and look ok for just basic use of a small camera. Also to post the muppets online and name + shame the food stealers in NEWCASTLE from my out-doors freezer as time is ticking and along with them also a Halogen Sensor Light as it's only Temp until we move A-S-A-P ''WHO STEAL YOUR FOOD THATS FROZEN OUT OF A FREEZER'' ????
Use the mode button to get to the play back screen. Then find the image and press and hold the down button (located on side of camera) you will get a menu with options to "lock" a photo or "delete" it.
DO NOT BUY!! Brand new....battery lasted 8 minutes after charging for 20 hours! Looked up other reviews....same. It's headed for the bin as I lost my receipt.

Most cheaper action cameras won't be great that said Campark action cameras seem to be getting decent reviews check them out.
