Just browing and came across this. I was born in Mt. Arlington right up the road from Bertrands Island. Spent my time swimming, boating, skiing. My Dad still lived there until last year when he passed away. Wish I could go back in time , knowing what I know now. Thanks for the memories.

Sorry for the loss of your dad. I'm glad this video brought back some memories for you. On my TH-cam channel I have a number of other videos from Mt. Arlington and surrounding area which may be of interest to you, too many to list here in the comments, but here are links to two of them... This video: th-cam.com/video/5acrHYmQ4Wc/w-d-xo.html is a walk in Mt. Arlington, and this video: th-cam.com/video/RMk21Nphd9I/w-d-xo.html is a drive along Lake Hopatcong's east shore where I drive onto and around Bertrand Island. Visit my channels home page to see the many others. Have a Happy New Year and thanks for watching.

Very cool, I grew up in Northwood '69-80, I have walked, biked, hitchhiked, and drove around that lake a gazillion times. Much has changed, but much is still the same as it was. Thanks for the memories!

Born and raised in Paterson however; my parents had a summer home right on the lake. We spent every summer there. When I grew up moved there and lived till 1978. This brings me back to my youth and memories I will never forget.i am 77 yrs. Old now and live in Melbourne Fl. Thank You for this video it warms my heart.

I can't believe the road I knew like the back of my hand, walking, bicycling, and later, driving, when I learned to drive fifty years ago, for fun or just to get to work, could be at once so familiar and memory inducing and yet so thoroughly modern and different. Thanks for sharing.

My grandparents' old garage at 6:44. The new owners are really making the place nice! That garage had needed some love for many years.

I spotted my old home twice, at the beginning of the video and when you circled back towards the end of the video. My first job was at the Quick Check in Mt Arlington. I guess it's no longer a Quick Check. This brought back many memories. Thanks for sharing.

The Quick Check is still in Mt. Arlington, but it moved farther moved farther down Howard Blvd, near Route 80. It’s a large one now, with gas pumps. I’m glad the video brought back some memories for you. Thanks for watching and commenting.🙂

I grew up in Jefferson Twsp. Nolan's Point. In 1975 I ran away to join the circus (USN ). I've been home a few times since then to visit family and such. I miss the place and the friends I grew up with and mostly miss the time we grew up in, 50s, 60s and 70s. What a time to be alive and what a great place to be alive in. Thanks for the memories.

I lived close to Bertrand’s Island. My paper route took me through King Cove road and out the park entrance. Top of the road was the 4 Aces Cafe.

I moved from he lake in 73. Is the golf course that was between Landing and the state park still there?
