  • Hi, we are Harriet and Mauro and in February 2021 we bought an abandoned smallholding in Castellón, Spain. In these videos we share our life as we restore and improve our little stone house, learn to grow and preserve our own food, and bring our 4 acres of farmland back to productivity. @@grubert3535 In the English language a title or name can also be shown in quotation marks. Sometimes it's used for showing that a brand or place name isn't the real thing. A car by Ford called a 'Mustang', for example, isn't a real Mustang (horse), it's car so one could put 'Mustang' in quotes. TH-cam is also a concept....it's not a tube, it's not you (or me), it's a brand, an imaginary concept...which someone, at some stage, invented as a name to represent a video sharing website. We have a small garden in Northern Ireland and grow a fair amount of our own fruit and veg and this takes up a lot of time, I can only imagine the hours and dedication needed to turn this piece of Spanish land into a self sustained homestead, hats off to you! 👏👏👏👏

This girl is some kind of Wonder Worker / Miracle Worker who gives us all the inspiration to GET OUT THERE AND JUST TRY! What an incredible difference she made in just one year, and to think she went out there on her own, knowing so little and gained all the skills she needed. Just amazing and so inspiring - can't wait to get out there and give it a try myself. Gracias, amigas!

TH-cam kept recommending this so I watched it today. This is similar a bit to my journey. I bought a farm in Lithuania (I'm from Lithuania) and has been working on it on and off on my own. My husband should joing me this year hopefully. Of course, this lifestyle is challening, but being in nature, drinking fresh water, growing your own organic veggies, and having total peace is definitely worth it.

First visit to your channel...and I'm in AWE of your hard work...your goals and lifestyle choices. It was a dream of mine once, to live this way...but life chose a different path for me...but the dream never left my mind, even though I knew I could never realize it. So...I have ultimate admiration for anyone who invests this kind of work into making it happen. There are no words to express the amazing beauty and function you have brought to your land and your life.
Your perspective on how to live warms my heart beyond words.
Continued success and rewards for your grueling work. You're doin it right. =)

@@marymorris8442 Ya...great thought...but I no longer have the energy to invest in this...and it DOES take energy.
I make up for it in other ways...conscientious menu planning to make the best of every nickel I spend and making it stretch until it almost breaks.
We can all do better in terms of not being wasteful. Is it "living the dream"? Not so much. But survival has many levels. And simply not being wasteful goes a long ways. =)

Harriet, brutal....
